Starting From Being Adopted by the Second Hokage!

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Combat Training

Due to Sarutobi Hiruzen and Shimura Danzō,

Senju Takuzen canceled the afternoon classes and replaced them with combat training.

Normally, combat training is a course reserved for upperclassmen, but the students of Class A couldn't be judged by common standards. Starting early wouldn't hurt.

Takuzen fell into deep thought as he looked at the list in his hands, encountering a dilemma while choosing matchups.

It was only the second day since school started, and he hadn't had time to understand the strength of each student.

He could only divide the students into pairs based on their performance in the morning training.

Each student was different, so he could only try his best to pair those with similar strength.

Senju Takuzen quickly finalized the battle list and began calling students for their matches one by one.

"Hyūga Muki, Nara Motoha."

"What bad luck, I'm actually first," Nara Motoha said with a face full of despair.

"Good luck, I believe in you," Renya encouraged.

"I'll take that as a blessing."

With his hands in his pockets, Nara Motoha lazily wandered into the arena, still wearing that same lifeless expression.

"Give up now. You're no match for me."

Hyūga Muki raised his chin, his eyes filled with innate arrogance and disdain as he said coldly.

"Damn, this guy's so smug!" Uchiha Rin looked visibly annoyed.

"He's way too smug. We have to block him after school!" Uchiha Gen chimed in.

How could Hyūga Muki be even more full of himself than someone from the Uchiha clan?

Even Renya, for once, found himself agreeing with them—Hyūga Muki was definitely overdoing it.

"What the hell, you seriously underestimate people," Nara Motoha muttered under his breath.

Hyūga Muki assumed the Hyūga clan's unique Gentle Fist stance.

"Watch out. I won't go easy on you."

As soon as he finished speaking, Nara Motoha's eyes sharpened. He quickly formed hand seals and shouted in a low voice,

"Shadow Imitation Technique!"

A black shadow slithered toward Hyūga Muki like a living snake.

This was the Nara clan's signature secret technique.

Hyūga Muki remained calm. With a light step, he quickly moved his body and easily dodged the pursuing shadow.

Then, he lunged forward, his palms swinging rapidly, sending blasts of wind straight at Nara Motoha.

Nara Motoha dodged to the left and right, looking for a chance to counter.

Suddenly, Hyūga Muki closed the distance and struck Nara Motoha in the chest with a side palm.

Nara Motoha failed to dodge and was sent flying, crashing heavily into the ground.

"Hyūga Muki wins."

A wave of surprised gasps rippled through the surrounding students.

Hyūga Muki's strength far exceeded their expectations—he had defeated Nara Motoha in mere moments.

Nara Motoha struggled to get up from the ground, brushed off the dust on his clothes, and gave a wry smile.

"You're really strong."

Hyūga Muki nodded. "I know."

Nara Motoha: "…"

"Damn it, he actually pulled it off!" Uchiha Gen said bitterly.

"After school, we're definitely blocking him in the alley!" Uchiha Rin growled through gritted teeth.

Renya looked at Hyūga Muki with a serious expression and murmured,

"He really is strong."

Nara Motoha sat down next to Renya and asked,

"Renya-kun, do you think you could beat him?"

Upon hearing this, Renya paused for a moment before smiling confidently.

"He's strong, sure. But I'm not weak either."

"I see…" Nara Motoha nodded as if understanding, but inside he was silently cursing: 〖These guys are all monsters!〗

He was considered a genius in the Nara clan, yet he had just been defeated in a few moves.

He finally understood why his father, the clan head, insisted on placing him in Class A.

In this kind of environment, you'd have to be crazy not to grow stronger.

"Shimura Danzō, Uchiha Kagami."

Renya looked curious and softly muttered, "I wonder who's stronger, Kagami or Danzō?"

Uchiha Gen seemed to hear Renya's question and explained:

"Is that even a question? Of course Kagami is stronger!"

In the field, the battle was about to begin.

Just as Uchiha Gen said, Uchiha Kagami had the upper hand and quickly defeated Shimura Danzō.

"Damn it!" Shimura Danzō fell to the ground in a sorry state, slamming his fist into the dirt in frustration.

He had lost, and his mood was sour.

Losing to Uchiha Renya and Sarutobi Hiruzen before was bad enough, but now he'd also lost to Uchiha Kagami...

He was supposed to be the Shimura clan's genius, but now he was being defeated again and again.

He felt utterly humiliated.

"Danzō, are you okay?" Uchiha Kagami extended a hand to help him up.

"Get lost, I don't need your pity!" Shimura Danzō swatted his hand away.

Then, gritting his teeth, he pushed himself up with both hands and slowly climbed to his feet.

He silently vowed to himself that next time, he would never lose again!

"Uchiha Renya, Sarutobi Hiruzen!"

In the center of the field,

Renya stood in a black shinobi uniform, the hem of his clothes fluttering in the wind.

He turned slightly and assumed a combat stance, radiating an aura of confidence and strength.

"Hiruzen, I won't hold back."

"Got it, Renya-kun," Sarutobi Hiruzen said seriously. "I'll go all out too!"

All the students around them stared intently at the two, even the "show-off" Hyūga Muki wasn't an exception...

"Rin, do you think Renya will win?"

"No idea. I don't really know how strong he is."

"We should've blocked him in the alley yesterday while we had the chance..."

Renya, of course, heard their conversation and twitched at the corners of his mouth.

Good grief. Did those two have some kind of obsession with alleyways?

Looks like he'd have to ambush them in a sack one day...

With a command from Senju Takuzen, the battle erupted instantly.

Renya took the initiative, flashing in front of Hiruzen and throwing a straight punch at his face.

Hiruzen turned to the side to dodge and grabbed Renya's arm.

Renya reacted swiftly, pulling his arm back in time, flipping in the air, and kicking at Hiruzen's chest with both feet.

Hiruzen quickly stepped back, crossing his arms in front of him to block the blow.

The two separated briefly, each adjusting their stance.

Renya took a deep breath. He had to admit, Hiruzen was strong. No wonder he would one day become Tobirama-sama's student and inherit the title of Hokage.

The title of [Professor] wasn't just for show.

Sarutobi Hiruzen's face was tense.

He hadn't expected Renya to fight him evenly.

Even though he wasn't using his full strength or any of his best ninjutsu, he was still two years older than Renya!

Bullying someone younger and still only managing a draw? That was seriously embarrassing.

Shimura Danzō saw this and smirked.

"Finally."

His own defeat still stung, but Hiruzen's struggle brought him a strange sense of comfort!

Just as the two were about to continue their fight, Senju Takuzen stopped them.

"Both of you did well. That's enough for today."

Sarutobi Hiruzen let out a sigh of relief. He was worried that if they kept fighting, he might end up like Danzō—humiliated by Renya.

If that happened… he'd never be able to lift his head again.

Senju Takuzen looked moved and murmured quietly:

"As expected of Tobirama-sama's student!"

His strength was already far beyond others of the same age.
