Star Wars: The Rise of New Order

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Aayla Secura (2)

(Jayden's PoV)

We all took a local airship available for travel, which was temporarily given to Vos and his padawan by the Wookies.

The spaceships are not for travel in the world's atmosphere. Sure, one can use them, but that would not be economic, and once they enter the atmosphere, returning to space would be troublesome.

During the travel, I started a conversation with Aayla Secura.

"Hello", I greeted the girl with a smile.

Aayla, who was seated with her face looking outside, turned her head when she heard my voice.

"Hello", she greeted back with a smile.

"Are you from Ryloth?" I asked a simple question as a way of starting the conversation.

Her smile disappeared for a second before it returned, "I don't know. I suppose I am from Ryloth, as it was said to be the homeworld of Twi'leks, though there are a lot spread in various worlds", she said.

"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked her, though I knew what she meant by that.

The Jedi Order took her from her home and didn't even have the basic decency of telling her where she was from. She has no idea who her parents are or where she is from.

The Jedi order says this was so that there would be no partiality, or the love for the parents wouldn't turn them into Sith, because they died due to some incident.

They preach not to form bonds, and without forming any bonds, how do they think to show compassion for others?

Full on stupidity.

I am sure that these rules are written by some corrupt Jedi, who were controlled by Sith, or they themselves are evil.

Though Jedi are pictured as the face of Good and Sith as Bad, it was not so easy to differentiate.

Even among Sith, there were some of the most honourable ones, while some of the Jedi turned out to be the worst.

So, it was not just a White and Black scenario. The world is full of grey areas.

Some of those assholes who couldn't get a partner for their relationship should have placed those rules in order.

Well, at the start, the original order, Jeda'ii on Tython, used to have families. If the children had Force, they stayed with them on Tython; if not, they would be sent to a different place where the children didn't need to face the calamities of Tython.

Even after the order went extinct, dividing to become the Jedi and Sith orders, there were families among the Jedi. They all suddenly disappeared by the time of the Ruusan Reforms.

Now it was said there are a few families, but they are too weak to stand up proudly, and they no longer associate themselves with the Jedi because they started the project of taking away children from their families.

Did the order not see that they were destroying the structures of the families that they swore to protect?

Did they become so dumb that in the thousand years after the reforms, no one thought to change that?

I believe there are still some stupid servants in the council of those stupid Jedi who placed all these rules.

---

Anyway, I knew that this topic might be a sore point, but there is a reason why I brought this up. She is someone who could be influenced to change her ways, instead of just blindly following the Jedi Code and the rules of the order.

I don't remember most of her details. Only parts from the clone wars.

She once said to Ahsoka that she saw a father in Quinlon Vos, and it was so difficult to control because of the rules, but she did what had to be done.

So, maybe I can make use of this connection to break her blind loyalty to the order.

Most of the old are too stubborn to change. So, as long as I can rope the young, maybe I can change the order into a New Order.

Aayla sighed, "I don't know who my parents were and where I am from. So, it was just a guess", she said.

"Oh, sorry about that", I apologised, "Not knowing one's origins...I thought everyone knew about their origin".

Something felt off about how she said that last sentence, but anyway, I planted a thought that not everyone was without knowing their origins. Whether that seed sprouts or not depends on time, and I have at least a decade.

"So, how was being a padawan?" I asked her, steering away from the heavy topics.

We are basically strangers. So, asking many personal questions would be rude and suspicious.

The mission would take a few days at a minimum. In that time, we can connect a little, and I can build upon that later on.

Aayla smiled and started speaking about her adventures with her master. She was genuinely happy with Vos, who took care of her as if she were his own child, though he himself was not that old.

[A/N: Remember that Jayden doesn't have every fact of Star Wars. He has only the basic important details. So, he has to find other details on his own.]
