Chapter 19: Manager Scolding

Her words struck a nerve, and Kaiden face darkened. He immediately turned to the manager, shouting, "What kind of business are you running at Sky Garden?"

"Is this a place for random nobodies? Look at this bumpkin, dressed like that and wearing slippers! This ruins the atmosphere for other diners, lowers the class of this establishment, and ruins our mood."

"Get security and throw him out immediately!"

Tina, gloating, seemed to already envision Ryan being thrown out. It was rumored that Kaiden's father owned shares in this hotel.

"Apologies, Mr. Kaiden, but we have no dress code requirements here."

"As long as the attire is appropriate and there's no unusual clothing or indecent exposure, we respect the comfort of every guest."

The manager maintained a professional smile, though her words were firm: "Additionally, this Mr. Ryan has just become one of our top diamond members. He is a valued and distinguished guest."

"I see you approached them to cause trouble. Please maintain basic manners and avoid disturbing other diners."

"You..."

Kaiden hadn't expected to be reprimanded like this and angrily retorted, "You don't want to work here anymore, do you?!"

"Apologies, but firing me is a matter for the board; it's none of your concern!!!"

The female manager regarded him coldly and said, "Mr. Kaiden, please respect the dining atmosphere here and refrain from raising your voice."

The politeness of her words only made her rebuttal sting more. Ryan almost wanted to applaud her.

"Forget it, just ignore them. Let's see how long they can keep pretending!"

Tina quickly grabbed Kaiden's hand.

"Hmph, we'll see!"

Kaiden walked away, his face ashen.

The manager then gently said, "Dear Mr. Ryan, Ms. Yana, there is now a prime viewing spot available. Please allow me to guide you."

Under her guidance, the two were seated at a very prominent and beautiful high table, offering a stunning view of the city's nightscape.

Yana couldn't help but let out a "Wow" and immediately took out her phone to snap several pictures.

"Look at her acting like she's never seen the world before!"

From afar, Tina muttered sourly. She was aware of the difference between the premium high seats and the regular hall seating, and the disparity left her feeling a little annoyed.

Kaiden quickly jumped in to explain, "Tina, while the high seats don't have a minimum spend requirement, the people who sit there are generally very self-aware."

"With Ryan's poor, servile demeanor, even if you sold him, he couldn't afford a single meal there. Plus, there's nothing cheap on that menu."

"Just wait and watch—they'll probably end up sharing one dish between them. The embarrassment will be all theirs, and we'll just enjoy the show."

Tina's expression softened at that, and she smiled. "You're right. They're just pretending to be rich. Let's see how they end up embarrassing themselves."

"Wouldn't it be easier for them to just eat at a beef noodle shop in the village or grab braised pork rice with a drumstick? Why follow others to the Sky Garden to put on a show?"

"But still, doesn't it bother you to see your ex-girlfriend dining with someone else?"

Kaiden's straightened up and immediately declared with conviction, "Tina, I swear I have no feelings for her anymore. We weren't together for long, and it was completely innocent—we didn't even hold hands."

"She's already said we're over, and I'll make sure everything is crystal clear between us. From now on, we'll be strangers."

"Tina, don't you understand how I feel? You're the only one in my heart."

As for Kaiden and Yana, even in terms of appearance, Kaiden—standing at less than 170 cm, with an oily face and powdered hair—didn't make an ideal match.

Calling them a "talented man and beautiful woman" would have been a stretch. Kaiden had to relentlessly pursue Yana for quite some time before she reluctantly agreed to date him.

Kaiden was the type of "player" eager to take advantage of any situation, while Yana was an expert at keeping admirers and backups. There was no way she would let him take advantage of her.

They dated for half a semester, but Kaiden's tendency to flirt with multiple girls—several of whom he was caught with—inevitably led to a lukewarm relationship.

Although their relationship was said to be in a "cold war," neither side cared enough. They both understood the situation but simply avoided addressing it directly.

Tina scoffed inwardly at Kaiden's words but still replied coyly, "Why are you telling me all this? I'm not your girlfriend."

Kaiden put on a look of deep affection and said, "Tina, believe me. Give me a chance to pursue you, and I promise I'll love you with all my heart."

"We'll see how you perform," Tina replied with a teasing tone.

"Ryan, what are you thinking about?"

Noticing Ryan in a slight daze, Yana asked gently.

"Nothing much. I was just thinking I should tip her."

Ryan gestured toward the female manager.

She was a charming and mature woman, with an alluring figure accentuated by her professional attire. While she wasn't an absolutely stunning beauty, she was undeniably attractive.

Yana immediately grew alert and said coquettishly, "Ryan, you're not falling for her, are you?"

Ryan chuckled awkwardly and replied, "I'm not that shallow. I just wanted to thank her. I'm terrible at arguing and handling these things."

"I'll handle it! Ryan, let's look at the menu first!"

Yana quickly took over the task, worried that the female manager might try to charm the man she had set her sights on. After all, a guest who had spent two million was considered a rare treasure here.

She deliberately sat closer to Ryan, pressing her leg against his, and opened the menu.

Meanwhile, on the other side, the appetizers from their set menu were served—a sushi platter. It wasn't particularly unique, but the presentation was refined and artistic. However, the portion size was small, clearly aimed at wealthy diners rather than those seeking a hearty meal.
