Chapter 33: Chapter 30
[+12 souls]
...
[+10 souls]
[Class reached max level]
Holy shit, that was a lot of souls. She truly went mad in there.
As before when I maxed the first class everything started trembling and shaking. It actually lasted a little bit longer than the first time and when it ended I wanted to see what changed about the realm.
I stood up from the throne and went to the door and instead of a void that always greeted me I saw a corridor. It was not very spacious, but wide enough to fit two or three people walking side by side without any problem. Not even mentioning the design with many carvings that don't seem to be making any sense, but look nice. Oh, and there are some paintings, of myself and scenery etc. I even saw one of some gigantic and scary-looking light blue dragons that had a part of its flesh missing leaving only bones. I just shrugged at it.
Man, this looks nice.
I walked around to see what was up with this castle. Didn't explore it all due to its sheer size, although I found things like storage rooms for materials, treasury, offices, bedrooms and more. The shape of the interior is weird, there are a lot of stairs and many floors that vary in size from barely enough to fit a single room to massive labyrinths of corridors. Finally went into the exit, flew a little bit away and noticed that there was some land out there below me. Why is the exit so high? It was kinda big with a river of pure turquoise-colored necrotic energy flowing.
The ghosts out there started using their own spiritual energy to create materials and construct something. Are they building a city or something?
I went there to see and as soon as I did I noticed some people I know instructing other ghosts of various races what to build and stuff.
It was way too quick. Did they plan a whole city beforehand? I mean looking at how bored they were that would make sense.
It's too early to tell anyone about any architecture since nothing has been done yet. The materials tho look as expected, like normal stone or wood, but with some slight 'shine' to it. Other than that, it weighs way less judging by the fact that they are easily lifting things that would normally require a few people to transport.
I didn't want to disturb them so I just turned back to go inside what I thought was a castle. To my surprise, it's not a castle at all.
Is it a gigantic... hollow statue? I think of a knight? He holds a sword in his hand and as I look at it the entrance is on the side of its neck. Why so high? That question was answered once I got closer. The sword has stairs on its side.
Is that a golem that stabs the sword into the ground to provide a staircase? How does it even work? After trying multiple times and sensing the energy around it I realise that it's just a statue. Not a golem or anything. Then what's up with the stairs?
I will check it later. Time to choose my new class.
I got back to my throne and while sitting started the thing.
True name: Yasuragi
Name: Tareal Illitris
Souls: 8517 (8500)
Current class: Warlock (50/50)
Str: 205
Vit: 305
Agl: 105
Int: 405
Wis: 605
This is kinda broken, isn't it? High vitality for tankiness and a shit ton of intelligence and wisdom to eradicate enemies with magic. I think I need to get some class that specialises in physical damage since I am basically all magic now. If I or Atsune get across someone who is resistant to it, our power will be way lower. She gets boosts to her stats based on mine. So well. Give her enemy immune to magic and stuff related and my bonuses are useless.
[Congratulations. For completing the growth type class, the user gained a 10% decrease in requirements for awakening.]
[Awakening progress: 1.02%]
eh?
What the fuck is this?
...
Hello, system! Do you know something?
...
No answer. It most likely will not tell anything. What is even a reason it is letting me know about the progress when it won't explain what will happen once it is fulfilled?
If I knew what is the base of measurement for this I could have calculated it with old simple math. It could be the amount of souls, total level or something else.
Ok then. Time to look at the new classes.
For mele, I have a Barbarian, knight and... a monk. Ok.
Ranged I just skim through since I find them useless when there is magic.
For magical classes, there is a necromancer. Just no. Although it would be fun, I already have those ghosts. What is the use for undead, even for Atsune? I would rather use something that increases personal power instead of that.
Getting back to what I thought earlier I think that the best option is taking a melee-oriented class to balance myself, especially considering that other choices are not so good for me.
That leaves with barb, a knight and a monk. Well, there is also an assassin, but I would rather get more durable and strong for now rather than fast. I am not saying it's not useful, but more situational.
Monk is about fists and ki. While ki is fine, fists are counterproductive to my warrior class which enhances my learning speed about wielding weapons. Other than that I am using either a katana or a naginata for fighting so yeah.
So knight or barbarian. From the name alone I can deduce that knight is more about tankiness and shielding allies. Barb is most likely about fury, anger and strong bitchslaps.
I will go with Barbarian. Seems useful. Pure strength combined with durability is always good and adding to it causing fear to enemies with sheer bloodlust and fury in battle is a bonus.
After choosing this class I look at my stats again to see the differences with the previous one.
I will need to write notes next time since the stats will most likely grow into some big numbers.
True name: Yasuragi
Name: Tareal Illitris
Souls: 8517 (9310)
Current class: Barbarian (1/50)
Str: 245
Vit: 335
Agl: 123
Int: 409
Wis: 609
I do a quick calculation in my head and get wide-eyed.
Holy.Fucking.Shit!
40 for Strength, 30 for vitality, 18 for agility and 4 for both intelligence and wisdom PER LEVEL. I don't care about the amount of souls needed even if it blew out of proportion.
This is amazing. At maxing this class I will have what? 2000 strength? Will I be able to just lift a mountain with one hand?
And the funniest part. It's a growth class...
What kind of overpowered shit is this?
What kind of ridiculous increases do higher tiers like 5 or higher have?
[Tier 3 class has 96 stats points combined per level.]
Thank you system. Can you spoil me with what kind of increases, I don't know, tier 7 has?
[...]
[...As a celebration system will make an exception and provide this information for the host.]
[Tier 7 class has increases of 2436 points of stats per level.]
You know what. I will not even comment on that.
[Due to the host's wielder awakening true divinity. The system will now start assigning skills to the host.]
Oh. I have skills now. This is good, I would rather know how good or bad I am at what I am doing.

For people interested:
sum of stats for class: Tier*(5+Tier^3)
Souls per lvl: Level(in this class not total)*Tier^4*10
Yes, I am using an Excel file with macros to manage and calculate all of that.
