Chapter 169: The Trashy Fire Chicken and the Perverted Sausage, Part 2

Seeing that Flander had finally recognized him, Ye Wen nodded in satisfaction. With Ye Wen's identity confirmed, both Flander and Zhao Wuji breathed a sigh of relief. Ye Wen had a strong reputation on the continent, after all, and his presence wasn't usually associated with trouble. Yet Flander, cautious as ever, asked tentatively:

"Master Ye Wen, to what do we owe the honor of your visit?"

Ye Wen smiled. "I came to discuss something with you, Headmaster Flander. Just now, at the village's edge, I saw a boy training. He seems to have impressive potential. I'd like to invite him to Tianxing Academy for proper training. What are your thoughts on this?"

Flander instinctively wanted to refuse. Since losing his leg, he'd felt his future bleak. His plan was to find young spirit masters with top talent, train them, and eventually have them become his disciples to take care of him in his later years. Oscar was one of his proudest finds a food type spirit master with innate full spirit power, an unprecedented talent. Even if he wasn't a battle type spirit master, he could undoubtedly make his mark on the continent.

Flander saw Oscar as his golden ticket to a comfortable retirement. However, Oscar, having grown up in an orphanage and matured early, knew well what his innate full spirit power meant. Rather than immediately accepting Flander as his master, Oscar wanted to evaluate his training methods before committing.

Seeing Flander's hesitation, Ye Wen gently encouraged him. "Headmaster Flander, I know letting go of such a talent isn't easy. But you must understand that the resources at Tianxing Academy far exceed what you can provide here. Under my guidance, this young man could reach the level of advanced spirit master, possibly even Titled Douluo."

Ye Wen then took out a gleaming gold soul coin card and offered it to Flander. "And to thank you for your care of the boy, here's 100,000 gold soul coins as compensation."

Flander, ever the money lover, quickly took the card, dazzled by the wealth in his hand. He was well aware of Tianxing Academy's draw for commoner soul masters. Knowing Oscar, there was a high chance that once he learned of the academy's resources, he'd leave for it willingly. The gold would be more than enough for Flander to live out his days comfortably.

With a fawning smile, Flander accepted Ye Wen's proposal. Oscar was bewildered, having just finished his running exercise only to be handed over to a stranger by his headmaster. But once he recognized Ye Wen and recalled the admiration he held for his work, he eagerly expressed his desire to study under him. Though Oscar's innate full spirit power was rare, it wasn't enough to make him a core disciple in Tianxing Academy; he would start as a registered disciple.

Ye Wen didn't intercept Oscar purely out of altruism. Oscar's potential was vast; in the future, he would even be used as a medium to resurrect Tang San. In the event of a major war, a Soul Douluo level Oscar, properly trained, could serve as an unparalleled logistics asset. Plus, Ye Wen always felt Oscar, the most level headed of the original Shrek Seven, deserved better than to be tied to Tang San.

With Flander securing his retirement fund and Ye Wen gaining a promising student, both sides benefited.

Now, Ye Wen's next target was Ma Hongjun, the so called "Trashy Fire Chicken." Truthfully, Ma Hongjun wasn't inherently bad; the issues stemmed both from his martial spirit and Flander's irresponsible guidance. Taking an eleven year old to brothels drained Ma Hongjun's physical potential, and without Tang San's later intervention, he would likely have succumbed to his martial spirit's berserk tendencies.

After a brief search, Ye Wen tracked Ma Hongjun to Grass Chicken Village. His family background was modest but supportive, evident in Ma Hongjun's round, healthy appearance. After a brief discussion, Ye Wen offered to awaken Ma Hongjun's spirit early, bringing joy to his family. Coming from a lineage of lowly spiritless Grass Chicken martial spirits, they were thrilled.

To ensure a smooth awakening without harm to the child, Ye Wen utilized his refined control of divine power. The parents were too overjoyed to question anything, trusting Ye Wen implicitly.

After showing his Sage's Emblem and projecting its information, Ma Hongjun's family felt as if a tidal wave of fortune had washed over them. Overwhelmed, they accepted Ye Wen's offer without a second thought. Grateful, they hurriedly packed up their few belongings with Ye Wen's help, using a soul guided storage device he provided.

"Now that I've intercepted the 'Perverted Sausage' and the 'Trashy Fire Chicken,' I'd like to see how young Tang San plans to form his Seven Shrek Monsters and hold off Qian Renxue's pursuit," Ye Wen mused with a smirk.

With arrangements made for Ma Hongjun's parents to settle near Tianxing Academy under Spirit Hall's guidance, Oscar and Ma Hongjun stayed with Ye Wen to train.

Previously, Oscar had been running to build his physical strength, hoping to absorb stronger spirit rings. Flander's method, however, was too stingy and inefficient. Ma Hongjun, with an innate spirit power of nine, was just shy of reaching ten and was easily brought up to that level. Together, they set off to the nearby Soul Hunting Forest in Notting City.

Returning to Tianxing Villa, Ye Wen was amused by the scene that greeted him. Oscar and Ma Hongjun, both clearly enamored with Ye Wen's two daughters, couldn't take their eyes off them. No mischief, just youthful admiration. In reality, people naturally gravitate toward beauty, and Ma Hongjun and Oscar, still young, delighted in the chance to play with the adorable girls.

Watching the lively scene, Ye Wen felt his mood lift. But with the semester at Notting Academy approaching, he could sense the gears of fate beginning to turn.
