So I Became a Witch and Started Doing Daily Quests

Chapter 125: The Law of Purification

"Miss Janna, you're finally back!"

"Door Spirit, if anyone comes looking for me, just notify me directly."

Seeing Janna’s weary expression, the Door Spirit couldn’t help but hesitate.

"But——don’t you really need a good rest?"

"It’s fine. I’m okay."

Pushing the door open and stepping into the dormitory, Janna quickly cast a Cleaning Spell on herself, then neatly placed her Wizard Robe and wand aside before sitting down on the chair next to the laboratory bench.

She summoned the Quest Panel once again.

"This time, aside from the large amount of experience and the usual Constitution stat reward (+0.5), there was actually a bonus to Luck (+0.1)."

After skillfully allocating the Talent EXP to her Plant Affinity, Janna continued studying the rewards she received this time.

The last time she was rewarded with Luck, it was when she completed the “Purchase the Verdant Wand” quest in Raccoon Cat’s new shop. She hadn’t expected another Red-Level Mission to reward her with Luck again.

"Not bad. After all, in a world where everything can be explained through Mysticism, a higher Luck stat means a greater chance of encountering fortuitous opportunities— and even when faced with danger, the influence of Luck may allow one to escape unscathed."

This, in common terms, was known as a luck buff.

Her eyes shifted slightly. After skimming past the first few entries, Janna’s gaze quickly settled on the most anticipated and significant reward of this mission — Soul Insight into the Law of Purification *1.

Exhaling softly, Janna’s current understanding of Laws all came from the two books she had read in the library: The Mysteries of Laws and Understanding Laws.

Even though she carried a fragment of the Law of Growth, because it was still in the “Unlock Condition Not Met” state, Janna had no real concept of it——

"Huu——"

As Janna mentally activated the Soul Insight into the Law of Purification *1 reward entry, a brilliant white light flashed, and a torrent of mystical symbols, like musical notes, continuously poured into Janna’s mind.

In a trance, holy melodies surrounded her.

Just like during her last use of Spirit Phase Travel, she heard the long tolling of bells from the “Holy Realm of Heaven.” Radiant holy light bloomed around her, green grass and vibrant flowers flourished. Amid the hymn of light and life, Janna’s consciousness gradually sank into a trance. "Master——"

Unconsciously, she cast a Contract Array, and with a milky-white flash, the Celestial Finch was summoned once more into the dormitory.

However, before the Celestial Finch could react, the vast knowledge Janna was sharing through their Mind Communication overloaded its brain capacity.

The bird let out a sharp cry before fainting on the spot.

"Clang—— Clang—— Clang——"

The bell tolled to an end; the hymn concluded.

When Janna’s consciousness returned to her body, the profound experience of visualizing the Law lingered, leaving her immersed.

"So this… is the memory of his insight into the Law of Purification—"

Like previous dream entries, the moment Janna received this “insight inheritance,” she once again entered the memory of the “Seed.”

This memory was a hymn of life that defied description with words.

It sang of life, of holy light, of purity, of mercy— and within that song,

Janna glimpsed a trace of the mystery behind the Law of Purification.

However, the insight was far too minimal, too shallow — so much so that even the System couldn’t condense it into an entry.

Janna understood this well.

If she wanted recognition from the System Panel, she had to reach at least an entry-level understanding of the Law of Purification, much like she had with Partial Transfiguration.

"Aph, Aph——"

"Ma—ster, where am I—?"

"You’re in my dormitory."

While receiving the inheritance of the Law of Purification, Janna had used the last of her rationality to summon the Celestial Finch from the Spirit Realm.

Holding fast to the principle of “fertilizer should not flow into others’ fields,” she intended to use Mind Communication to let the Celestial Finch receive the same knowledge transmission, accelerating its growth.

But unexpectedly, the Celestial Finch’s capacity (or brainpower) was so lacking that it fainted within seconds, wasting Janna’s efforts.

"I wonder if I’ll ever live to see Aph evolve from a member of the Reserve of Holy Light into a mythological creature…"

Looking at the dazed bird face of the Celestial Finch, Janna sighed quietly and shook her head.

"Master, it felt like Aph’s head was just smashed by a hammer. It’s going to explode——"

"Yeah, you’re probably just too tired. Go back and get some rest."

"Is that so… maybe Aph has been training too hard lately—"

After coaxing and tricking the Celestial Finch back into the Spirit Realm, Janna resumed pondering the Law of Purification.

"Judging from fragments in the memory, this hymn of life must have originated from the Holy Realm of Heaven."

Aside from the familiar holy light aura, the bell tolls were identical to those she’d heard in the Holy Realm of Heaven last time.

All of it supported Janna’s conclusion.

"So, the most urgent task now is still to start with Aph———after all, only it can enter the Holy Realm of Heaven——"

When using her Spirit Phase Travel talent, Janna needed an Anchor Point Positioning coordinate.

And as a natural coordinate, only by making proper use of the Celestial Finch could she hope to enter the Holy Realm of Heaven and continue her enlightenment of the Law of Purification.

"I just don’t know whether that lower-ranked angel is approachable— or perhaps, whether Aph has a way to let me sneak into the Holy Realm of Heaven in spirit form without alerting anyone——"

Her thoughts were a bit scattered. Rubbing her temples, Janna, who was mentally and physically exhausted, gave up on thinking for now and went to the washroom for a hot shower.

Afterward, taking advantage of the fact that there were no classes today, Janna changed into her pajamas, sat cross-legged on the bed, cleared her mind, and began her daily, unwavering Deep Meditation.

The next morning, early dawn.

"Knock knock——knock knock knock——"

After a day and night of rest, Janna’s mental state had returned to peak condition.

Even the soul fatigue caused by repeated Spirit Summoning had eased significantly.

"Apprentice, there’s a letter for you——"

Seeing the Rook tapping persistently at the window, Janna quickly stood up, walked over, and opened it.

"Thank you for your trouble, Lord Rook."

Caw——caw.

"This is a letter Principal Anthony asked me to deliver——"
