Ch. 120
Chapter 120: Official Wizard
"Principal?"
Upon hearing this, Vivian and Bell Moonshadow were momentarily taken aback, but they quickly agreed with the approach.
"You're right. Given our current strength, it's safer to report the mission directly to maximize rewards without interference from others."
According to the current mission issued by Blackbone Grove, it only required locating remnants of the Darksun Church and assisting in their elimination.
Completing this task alone would earn them an apprentice-level witch tool from Blackbone Grove.
Of course, if the three of them had the strength to eliminate the Darksun cultists directly, the rewards would be top-tier.
However, there was no need for that, and they indeed lacked the capability.
"Then let's go report it!"
The three exchanged glances, excitement flickering in their eyes.
Having reached a consensus, they immediately returned to the academy under the cover of night.
"Lord Rook! Lord Rook, please wake up!"
Just as they emerged from the vine corridor, Vivian dashed to a nearby large tree.
She held onto the tree and called out to the sleeping figure above.
Caw—caw—
"You impolite apprentice! Don't you know that the whole world is resting at this hour—"
"We need to see the Principal! We have information about the Darksun Church!"
Ignoring Rook's anger, Vivian interrupted, quickly conveying their purpose.
"Caw—"
Originally agitated, Rook's small black eyes suddenly flashed with a grayish-white light upon hearing Vivian's words.
"Did you just say—Darksun Church?"
A deep male voice replaced Rook's noisy tone.
Realizing that the Principal's consciousness had projected into Rook, Janna immediately pulled Vivian back and respectfully said:
"Yes, Principal. We detected the presence of Darksun Contamination in a shadow rift within the Misty Forest."
"Come and speak."
In an instant, accompanied by a strong sense of weightlessness, it felt as though they passed through multiple gray doors.
In the blink of an eye, the three found themselves in the Principal's office on the eighth floor of the magic tower.
"Tell me, who discovered it first?"
With a prominent nose, deep gray eyes, and a slightly receding hairline, Anthony-Rook asked before they could recover from the sudden teleportation.
"It was my Contract Summoned Creature that detected the Darksun Contamination in a shadow rift on the outskirts of the Misty Forest."
"Oh? Is it that white parrot on your shoulder?"
"Yes, Principal."
Shifting his gaze to the Celestial Finch perched on Janna's shoulder, radiating a holy light that repelled undead wizards, Anthony-Rook raised an eyebrow.
"I feel like I've seen you before. Have you attended my classes?"
"Yes, my name is Janna Roland. I've taken your Contract Studies and Introductory Medical Studies courses."
"Oh, no wonder you seem familiar."
Hearing that the Principal remembered her, Janna was somewhat surprised.
It was known that due to a soul injury during his apprenticeship, the Principal had poor memory, often getting lost, forgetting things, and having difficulty recognizing faces.
"You two stay here. You, come with me."
"Yes."
Before she could finish her sentence, Janna felt everything around her enlarge rapidly.
When she regained her senses, she had transformed into a black rook, smaller than the Celestial Finch.
"Bring your summoned creature and don't speak."
With the Celestial Finch hopping onto the Principal's shoulder, Janna nodded her bird head.
Another wave of weightlessness followed, and she and Anthony-Rook teleported to the outskirts of the Misty Forest.
"Is this the Complete Transfiguration Spell from the advanced transfiguration course?"
Though curious about Anthony-Rook's teleportation spell, typically used only by spatial witches, Janna was more interested in the Complete Transfiguration Spell cast on her.
"Lead the way."
Hearing the voice in her ear, Janna extended her wing, pointing ahead.
"This is the place?"
Guided by Janna, Anthony-Rook swiftly arrived at the shadow rift where they had previously fought.
"Strange."
Despite being a First Tier Wizard, Anthony-Rook couldn't detect any life force within the nearby shadow rift, no matter how he probed with his spirit power.
"Aph, is the Darksun Contamination you sensed earlier still here?"
"Yes, Master. And it's even more pungent than before."
Receiving Aph's confirmation through their mental link, Janna relayed the information to Anthony-Rook.
"Long time no see, Lucia."
Splash—
Amidst the sound of flowing water, a transparent humanoid figure formed from water appeared before them in response to Anthony-Rook's sudden greeting.
"It's Lucia Heigel."
Recognizing the increasingly clear features beneath the water and recalling the name Anthony-Rook had just mentioned, Janna quickly identified the person.
Lucia Heigel, Principal of Blackbone Grove Academy, First Tier Wizard, with unknown wizard talents, was a witch highly skilled in water-based and divination witchcraft.
"Are you sure this is where those pests are hiding?"
Also unable to detect anything unusual, Lucia Heigel's delicate face showed a hint of doubt.
"We'll know once we go in."
Ignoring Lucia Heigel's skepticism, Anthony-Rook leaned forward and floated into the shadow rift.
Splash—
Seeing this, Lucia Heigel, determined not to let any threats escape, transformed back into water and silently flowed into the shadow rift behind Anthony-Rook.
"Master, that's the source of the stench!"
As a neighbor to the Shadow World, Janna was not unfamiliar with it.
In the pitch-black environment, she closed her eyes and used her spirit power to determine the direction indicated by the Celestial Finch.
