Chapter 30 – Reaction
When I mentioned the Dungeon to Roxanne, her atmosphere changed; she seemed determined to be of use--but she also seemed incredibly excited, like she really wanted to go.
Roxanne stared into my eyes for a few seconds, before realizing something. She looked down and bit her lower lip, “Master, may I put the clothing in the closet? They may crease.”
I couldn’t help but feel slightly disappointed, but I released her ears, “Sure, go ahead.
“Thank you.” She stands up, lowering her head to me, before walking over to desk and opening her large case that she brought from the Slave Traders.
Inside it, is the maid clothing that she wore.
Roxanne holds up the dress, carefully straightening out the creases before hanging it up in the closet.
She even looks nice from behind, with slim shoulders, round ass--and an adorable dog-like tail that was wagging; she seems to still be excited about the thought of going to the Dungeon. She also seems to have stopped trembling, which is good.
Even with her impressive bust, she is actually fairly slim; her head comes up to my shoulders, but she is almost a size slimmer than me--I seem to have gained muscles as I leveled up.
While looking at her, I noticed something, “You were barefooted?”
“Yes, master.” She replies as though it’s a matter of fact, though I see the back of her neck pinken slightly.
I realize that I have been staring at her too much--I need to calm down; I bought her, so she won’t be getting away now…I mean, it’s likely that we will be in the same party for quite a long time.
“Master, may I ask you for your coat?”
“Sure.” I stand up and grab my coat from the table, and give it to her. While she is putting it in the closet, I stroke her hair gently--
She pushes up against my hand slightly, but the movements of her small hands as she is putting the clothing away, doesn’t change.
I want to know just how much she is willing to let me do.
Having finished putting the clothing away, Roxanne lowers her hands, and obediently let me stroke her hair.
I don’t understand her thoughts, her mind--even if she doesn’t like it, she doesn’t reveal it on her face.
Her scent, warmth, and the closeness--as well as submissiveness; she doesn’t seem scared. I can’t help it, I accidentally embrace her. I wrap my arms around her slim body, pulling her back against me and resting my head on top of hers.
She twitches, but soon relaxes and leans back against me.
Strangely, I don’t feel lust when I do this.
“I don’t know if it’s bad…but you’re mine now--I don’t plan on letting you get away.” I don’t know where those words came from. Maybe I was getting too much into owning a slave?
“Aa, Yes, Master…” She speaks quietly, her tail slowly brushed against my legs.
“You can have these sandals.” I force myself to release Roxanne, taking the sandals from my Ring.
“M-Master?” She blushes deeply, looking slightly worried as I knelt down and picked up her foot, carefully slipping it into the leather sandal.
Of course I could have given them to her, but this gave me an excuse to support her leg with my free hand--her soft, leg, the flesh pliant under my fingers.
I switched hands, putting the sandal onto her other foot. She stared down at me the whole time, looking a little confused--her head tilted cutely.
“Uhh, t-thank you Master.”
I don’t know what she thought about me touching her body, but she didn’t show any dislike, not that I could see anyway. Her legs felt very nice, so soft, but not fat; and her exposed skin was silky smooth.
“Hmm?”
The Sandals seem to automatically adjust their size, going from two or so sizes too large, to fitting her small feet perfectly.
“Master, Equipment automatically resizes to fit the wearer.” Roxanne looked at me with a smile, explaining in a gentle tone.
“I see, is this the difference between normal clothes and equipment?”
“Yes, Master.” She nodded.
I got up and sat on the edge of the bed, Roxanne walked over and stood in front of me, her hands clasped behind her back--her chest was rather emphasized by this stance.
“Well, I have one-handed swords, and two-handed swords, which do you prefer?”
“Umm,” She cutely held a fingertip to her lower lip, tilting her head…but the way she narrowed her eyes showed that she was deliberating seriously, “One-handed sword, please master.”
“Sure.”
I pull a one-handed scimitar out of my Ring and hand it to Roxanne.
Now is probably the best timing to give her the sword; giving it to her early, showing her that I am willing to trust her, and hopefully earning her trust.
She carefully pulls it out of the sheath, exposing the iron blade. Her eyes glitter as she gently places the sheath on the floor, leaning on her leg--she holds the sword up and inspects the blade, and runs a small finger on the flat.
Her face is rather serious, “Has it been regularly maintained?”
“I haven’t needed to, since I haven’t used this one.”
“I see. Well, Master--is it okay if I take care of maintenance. Because one’s life depends on their equipment. You need to make sure to value them.” She speaks enthusiastically, leaning towards me.
After finishing her scolding, she seems to realize what she did; quickly straightening up, she mutters quietly, “Sorry master…”
Roxanne looks down, seeming worried, her ears flattened to her head.
“It’s okay. Remember, I’m not from this world--so I didn’t know that.” I reach out and stroke her hair, “But yeah, feel free to look after maintenance, if you wish--I would also like it if you could teach me.”
“T-Thank you, Master; I would be honoured to teach you.” Roxanne smiled, though her shoulders trembled a little.
Placing the sword back into the sheathe, she attaches it onto her belt; then she finished putting the last of our clothing into the closet, I had taken the rest of it out of my Ring.
I am wearing the leather boots from the dead Thieves--I can also now understand how the Thief’s armour fit me.
“Well, while the sun is up, I wish to buy any necessary things--is there anymore equipment you need?”
“A wooden shield, if possible.”
“Anything else?”
“Well, in regards to protection, any of master’s handed down things will be sufficient.”
When we started talking, I had gestured for her to sit down next to me--the whole time, I had been stroking her ears; she had leaned against me, looking pleased, and relaxed.
“Alright, what about anything other than equipment?”
“Oil for maintenance, a rag, a washboard and rope.”
“Rope?”
Hmm?
What was this puppy into?
“For stringing up clothes to dry.” Almost as though she had somehow sensed my thoughts, her skin was bright pink, “Ahem, if master is willing, I can share a towel. But a water canteen would be appreciated.”
She paused, “Sorry, Master, for asking for so much.”
Roxanne is still accepting my touch, she seems to be getting more used to it; I am glad.
“It’s fine.” I smile at her, “Well, let’s go shopping.”
I stand up, picking up the rucksack from the bed near me, Roxanne follows soon after me. I want to keep playing with her ears, I could happily do it for hours--I would also like to touch even more of her.
Taking Excalibur from my Ring, I tie it to my belt, carrying the Rucksack on my back.
“Yes, Master.” Roxanne stands up at once.
I entrust the key to the receptionist, Roxanne and I leave the inn.
The first place we go is something like a general store, where I purchase all of our required miscellaneous items--the total sum is only 2 silver; luckily, I have 5 gold or so, plus a fair amount of silver and copper, left over from buying Roxanne.
“Master, may I carry the luggage?” Roxanne asked.
I pack the stuff into the rucksack and let Roxanne carry it; I could have stored it all in my ring--but she seemed to want to carry it. How was I to say ‘no’ to such a request?
Our next stop was a clothing shop, we end up buying towels, socks, underwear, and two robes--as well as another pair of clothes for Roxanne.
Roxanne lowers her head to me, moving the Rucksack around, opening it; I put the new goods into it.
Our final stop is the Armour shop.
Her expression became incredibly serious as she looked closely at each available shield--which makes sense, since she will be entrusting her life to it.
Wooden Shield
Skill: Empty Slot
Oh, one with an empty slot, nice.
I would like to ask her about how enchanting and empty equipment slots work, but asking in public isn’t a good idea.
“Pick one of these three.”
I place the three shields, with empty slots which I found, in front of Roxanne.
“Why these three, master?” She tilted her head at me.
“I will discuss it with you later.”
“Yes, Master.” She then studied the three shields intently.
While she was comparing three identical, from my point of view, shields, I went over to the Armour display.
“How much are these leather gloves?” I ask the attendant.
“2 silver.”
“These leather pants?”
“8 silver.”
That is a little expensive.
“This leather breastplate?”
“10 silver.”
With a sigh, I take and carry the leather breastplate and gloves, with empty slots, over to the helmet area.
Leather Cap: Head Equipment
Skill: Empty Slot
It looks like an armoured cap that soldiers, but leather instead of iron.
“Master, this Wooden Shield.” Roxanne, after finally choosing a shield, brings it over.
“I also got these for you,” I say, placing the leather cap on her head, and giving her the leather armour. Unfortunately…the cap hides her adorable dog ears.
“These 5 items, please.” I place the leather armour on the counter.
“Thank you very much, that will be 2250 copper, or 22 silver, 50 copper.” The Armour Merchant looks pleased.
I pay for them.
Turning to the side, so that the Armour Merchant can’t hear me, I mutter a pretend incantation and open my Item Box--but it seems that Roxanne heard my fake incantation, because she looks at me with suspicion in her eyes.
Well, it doesn’t really matter if she heard it or not.
Technically, my Explorer Class reached level 30; so it was upgraded to Adventurer, but it kept the Item Box Skill.
“This is everything, let’s return to the Inn.”
“Yes Master.” Roxanne didn’t say anything in front of the Armour Merchant, but she seemed to want to ask a question.
I forgot to explain about my strange Class, and Bonus Skills, and other--oddities.
