Skill Tree Chronicles: One Piece

Chapter 38: CHAPTER 38

This is the first half of the Grand Line.

It's the only gateway to the New World!

And here stands Enies Lobby—Judicial Island—perched like a tyrant on the threshold of justice, located on an island in the first half of the Grand Line!

A place where a special court operates directly under the World Government's authority.

Though it is called a court, it does not seek fairness—it enacts the will of the Celestial Dragons!

Anyone dragged into Enies Lobby has already been declared guilty—there is no verdict, only sentencing. And that sentence is always death.

The surrounding seas churned restlessly, like wild beasts scenting prey.

The Marines and World Government officials stationed at Judicial Island looked around nervously, brows furrowed, tension hanging in the air.

"Hey… my right eye won't stop twitching."

"Same here… I've got a real bad feeling about today."

Just then, a naval colonel fixed his gaze on the horizon, alert.

"Eyes sharp! That section of sea is moving wrong. Waves are shifting unnaturally!"

Several patrol units were immediately dispatched, sails catching wind as they moved to investigate.

"Should we contact Marine Headquarters?" one captain asked, hesitating.

"We don't have solid evidence yet. It might be nothing. We shouldn't alarm HQ on gut feeling alone."

But before the words even settled—

"BOOM!"

An enormous explosion thundered from the east!

Enies Lobby was under attack!

"You still want to wait?!" the colonel yelled, secretly relieved to take action.

"You fool! We're being hit—why aren't you returning fire?!"

The intelligence officer's face turned dark. Was every Marine officer this dim?

Combat mode activated across the island.

Debris flew as the battlefield ignited—shells rained down with fiery screams.

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"

"BOOM!"

Flames burst from the main gate as it was kicked clean off its hinges.

A figure wrapped in phoenix-blue fire hovered above it—

Marco the Phoenix.

"Hey boys—charge in!"

The Whitebeard Pirates roared as they stormed ashore, bloodlust flaring.

"Take Judicial Island! Burn everything that stands in our way!"

Like predators unshackled, they tore through Marines and agents alike. Swords and gunfire danced amid blood and screams.

Gunshots rang back as defenders fought to hold the line!

On the watchtower, the colonel turned pale.

"Report! East gate breached! Suspected hostile is ex-CP9 agent Kalifa! She's accompanied by… a child holding a halberd?!"

"A child?"

The colonel's hands trembled. What kind of monster kid storms Enies Lobby?

Desperate, he reached for the Den Den Mushi.

"Navy Headquarters! This is Enies—"

He was cut short by a gunshot. Blood sprayed from his abdomen!

"Gahh!"

The receiver hung as the Den Den Mushi blinked in confusion.

"Hello? Hello?"

"You prank me again and I'll send you to court myself!" snapped the operator.

Beep… beep… beep…

"Hmph. You won't be calling for help," said Izo, spinning his dual pistols, leading the next wave.

They surged toward the second gate, bullets flying like rain.

"Kill!" "Push forward!"

Meanwhile, on the western sea…

Crocodile stood at the bow of a black-sailed ship, a sinister grin on his face.

"Boys… crush the west gate."

Mr. 5 strolled ahead, digging deep into his nose.

"Booger Bomb."

With a flick, an absurdly small projectile flew… and detonated in a massive fireball!

The west gate buckled under the impact. The Baroque Works agents charged in, utterly fearless.

"Report—west gate has fallen! Pirates are flooding the island! We're surrounded on three fronts!"

The colonel on the ground just lay still, eyes blank.

"…What the hell? Again?!"

He closed his eyes.

I give up. Do whatever you want.

Across the sea, several Marine Vice Admirals who had been patrolling noticed the chaos and began turning their ships around.

"Enies Lobby is under siege—mobilize support!"

But before they could advance, a cold voice pierced the air.

"Show some respect. Sit quietly."

Shen Yuan descended like a demon.

One flash.

One punch.

A Vice Admiral was launched ten meters back—into the sea.

Like dominos, they dropped. Shen Yuan's fists, clad in jet-black Armament Haki, struck with terrifying precision.

He didn't even pause between attacks.

"Shen Yuan! The God of Death! Requesting immediate HQ support!"

Vice Admiral Flying Squirrel broke into a cold sweat.

"Not again! The last time he showed up, Sengoku chewed me out for weeks!"

He hadn't finished complaining when Shen Yuan's fist flew.

"BOOM!"

The flying squirrel was launched like a cannonball, vanishing into the sky.

One by one, the vice admirals were knocked unconscious.

The surrounding Marines stared, paralyzed by Shen Yuan's Haoshoku Haki—Conqueror's Will.

Shen Yuan cracked his knuckles.

"Much better."

Still, the system was oddly silent.

No level-ups?

Right—at level 80, basic mobs wouldn't cut it. XP required elite foes now—Awakened users, Logia monsters, or top-tier Haki masters.

Having cleared the outer defenses, Shen Yuan rose on Geppo—Moonwalk—soaring over the sea toward the island.

"Whoosh—"

A golden arc vanished into the clouds.

The Marine below could only gape as the figure passed overhead.

"Report… Judicial Island… high-altitude breach… I—"

The colonel cracked an eye open in disbelief.

What the hell does "airborne loss of control" even mean!?

In the sky, Shen Yuan hovered using Moonwalk, watching the chaos unfold below.

Satisfied, he shifted direction—aiming for the Judicial Tower at the island's center.

That's where the real treasure lay.

Inside, Enel (Enelu) was having the time of his life.

Facing dozens of black-clad agents, his electric aura crackled madly.

"Yahaha! Let's test your mettle!"

He twirled his golden halberd—Fang Tian Hua Ji—swinging it in a vicious arc. One agent's chest was carved wide open!

With a chilling laugh, Enel infused the halberd with Armament Haki—his lightning crackled black and gold.

"Qiang!"

An iron slash clashed with the halberd—metal rang out!

Enel's grin widened.

"Finally! A worthy opponent?"

"Rankyaku!"

A storm slash flew toward him—Enel sidestepped, the halberd sweeping again with monstrous wind force.

The opposing agent staggered, shedding his cloak and adjusting his tie.

"You're—"

"BOOM!"

A flaming blue foot kicked him into the wall!

Marco landed casually.

"Interrupt my fight again and I'll end you."

He chuckled awkwardly and vanished toward the east.

Enel growled, furious.

He blasted forward—straight into the inner tower.

At the top of the Judicial Tower, Spandam paced nervously.

"Commander! Main gate's fallen!"

"All forces—retreat to the Tower of Justice and prepare for last stand!"

But Spandam was already scheming.

There was a hidden escape boat at the base of the tower…

Blame the Navy.

Save his own skin.

A perfect win.

He smirked and bolted.

But when he reached the dock—

A voice colder than steel froze him in place.

"You're not going anywhere."

Spandam's hands trembled.

Even his elephant-sword, Funkfreed, seemed to sweat.

"You're already dead. So… you gonna die yourself, or should I do it for you?"

Plop—a drop of sweat hit the ground.

Spandam turned with a flourish, leapt into the air, and lunged!

His elephant-sword extended, tusks swinging wide.

Heading straight for Shen Yuan!
