Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 935: 932: To Survive

A deep and heavy silence engulfed the surroundings of Corey, Pamela, Kiefer, Selene, and Willow after Kiefer's alarming and shocking words that there was a Grade 7 herb on the grassy plains.

The significance of his words could not be taken lightly, and even Corey and Pamela did not expect to hear such words.

A Grade 7 herb was an Immortal herb. A herb that was effective on Immortals, and was also wanted by a lot of Immortals.

The value of such a herb for people like Corey and Pamela who were from a newly ascending world was immeasurable.

'I know about the monsters in the ridge. In fact, many of them are Tier 6s with some having very powerful auras. There's also an aura that made me wary, and I decided that the ridge was one of the places I'll avoid because of the aura.'

'I don't know if it's a Tier 7 or a Tier 6 that is infinitely close to Tier 7, but the aura was enough to make my instincts warn me about it.'

'I was planning on avoiding that place, but knowing that a Grade 7 Celestial Dewfern is there, that changes everything.'

'Although it's a mid grade 7 herb, it would be very useful. I can even use it to concoct a pill or an elixir.'

Corey looked at Kiefer, Selene, and then Willow with a pondering light flashing in his eyes.

'Hmm... I guess this is their... No... My opportunity to make my servants stronger.'

A light smile appeared on Corey's lips, and then he looked at Pamela who had been looking at him.

"So? What are you going to do now?"

He asked with an emotionless gaze, and Pamela stared into his eyes for a few moments before shifting her gaze to Kiefer, and then Selene and Willow.

When she saw their worried but solemn expressions, she could not help but remember the past where she had trained some of them and also gone on missions with all of them.

Although she was not sure if Corey knew, she had a bit of bond and attachment to the three of them, and she knew that they were all worried about her becoming enemies with Corey.

Corey was their Master, and they had no choice but to obey him. Even if it meant being enemies with the person that taught them. Their teacher.

'Well, unlike Selene and Willow who have slave seals in their souls, Kiefer does not have. But I doubt he's going to defy and go against the person that saved him from his previous life in the Underworld, took care of him, and never maltreated him.'

'Sigh... What am insufferable man.'

Pamela exhaled softly, and then she shrugged.

"I'll follow you guys." She smiled.

But Corey did not bother smiling back. He had the same expression gaze.

"You want to follow us? After hearing everything he said? I don't think so."

Pamela's smile remained as she gestured nonchalantly. "I know what you're worried about, and I can promise you that I'm not going to steal anything from you or them. I'll just follow you, and I'm sure we'll be able to come to an agreement in the future. After all, this is an extremely large piece of land that would surely have so many of these treasures."

A frown emerged on Corey's face, and a confused light flashed in his eyes.

"Why? I'm sure if you had gone on your own separate path, you would have been able to get a lot of treasures and similar graded herbs on your own."

Pamela chuckled, and then she gestured at Kiefer, Selene, and Willow.

"Believe it or not, I am sort of attached to these three. I trained them for three years after all."

Corey turned and looked at the three of them with a slight furrow of his brows, but he didn't say anything and merely shifted his attention back to Pamela.

"So it's because you're attached to them that you're choosing to follow us, and most likely not get any of the herbs Kiefer discovers? And most likely a lot of other treasures?"

Pamela's light smile remained. "I'm sure you won't be so partial, but yeah. You're not wrong about your suspicion cause it no makes that because I'm attached to them, I'll choose to forfeit a lot of treasures I can definitely get on my own since I'm that strong."

Corey scoffed, and Pamela's lips curled up for a second when she heard Corey's scoff.

"The main reason I'm choosing to stay with you is because I want to survive and not die."

This time around, a deep frown along with a confused expression appeared on Corey's face.

"What do you mean?"

Pamela pointed at the ridge where the Celestial Dewfern was located. "There is a Grade 7 plant on this fragment of another world, and a Grade 7 plant is equivalent to a Tier 7. An immortal."

"What does that mean?"

She asked, but did not give Corey the opportunity to answer.

"That means that the planet had Immortals in it. Tier 7s roamed the planet, and the planet was strong and advanced enough to start giving birth to Grade 7 herbs."

"Now, this fragment landed in our world, and the chances of there being a Tier 7 on this fragment is to be honest, not low. By some strange miracle or whatever power, these beasts did not die despite the extremely far distance that's usually between planets. They're alive and thriving, and many of them are Tier 4s, Tier 5s and Tier 6s."

"And that is something else we should be concerned about. There are rarely any Astral beast in this place. Maybe they all died on their way here, or maybe this grassy plains is just that dangerous."

"But we should be expecting a worst case scenario which is that Mystic Beings and Beasts were not particularly special in this world.... Tier 7s were."

Pamela paused and stared at Corey in the eye.

"I'm strong. You're strong. We're both stupidly strong. But I doubt we can defeat a Tier 7 on our own... I know I can't since I'm still a Tier 4, and since you're still a Tier 3, I'm pretty sure you can't too."

"So, the main reason why I'm choosing to stick with you is because we have a rather... strange but not hostile relationship..."

Corey raised a brow, but Pamela kept on speaking.

"And I know that I can trust you to watch my back to a certain extent. If I ever encounter a Tier 7, I might not survive alone. But with the two of us, we might be able to survive."
