Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 908: 905: Falling Stars

'Death?'

The moment Corey perceived the familiar aura of Death in the sky, he looked up.

And what he saw stunned him.

Up in the sky were thousands of what looked like shooting stars. However, these 'shooting stars' were falling unto the earth, making them seem like falling stars or meteorites.

"What in the world."

Corey's eyes turned pure white, and his eyes glowed brightly and veins appeared by the corner of his eyes and head as he zoomed in on the falling 'star' that had the aura of the Old One called Death.

The distance between him and the 'star' was extremely far, and he needed to increase the output of his Eyes of Omniscience to nearly the limit to be able to see what was radiating the aura of Death.

Because of how severe the situation could become if he did not do this, he was willing to spend more energy than needed.

'If by some damned ungodly reason, Death has found a way into New Earth... Damn it... I don't even know what I'll do.'

Corey gritted his teeth in frustration, and then his gaze landed on the 'falling star' that radiated the aura of Death.

When he did, his expression drastically changed.

'Oh no.'

To his immense surprise, what he saw was not a star but the throne of Death falling into New Earth with immense speed.

Although the throne was extremely far from Serithal, it was not far enough for him.

For all he knew, unless the throne was at the other side of the world, it was not far enough.

'How did this happen?'

Although Corey had this thought, he already knew the answer to this question.

'The clown.'

His gaze darkened.

'The massive spatial crack he opened must have led the throne to New Earth... But what about the book? And what are all these other 'stars'?'

Corey lowered the output of his Eyes of Omniscience as he took note of the direction of the falling throne. He had a feeling that the descent of the throne would cause a catastrophe.

It was the throne of an Old One after all, and New Earth was still in its awakening phase.

'If the Universal System does not deal with this, especially the Throne, it's going to become a huge crisis.'

Corey frowned deeply, and then he shifted his attention to the other stars. Three seconds later, his frown deepened.

'Wait. The other falling stars... Their auras...' Corey narrowed his eyes. 'They're similar to the aura of Virendell.'

'Don't tell me they're objects from Virendell? Did the act of the Clown cause objects from a powerful, ancient, ruined and corrupted civilization descend into New Earth?'

'That crazy bastard.'

Corey's eyes flashed with more annoyance as he thought about the consequences of the Clown's actions.

His pure white eyes glowed, and he was able to see the nearest objects in the sky.

Some of them were stones. Some were massive boulders. And some were just scraps of metals.

At first, Corey thought that only junks and rubbles were what was descending into New Earth, but his gaze immediately landed on some objects which were not rubbles but weapons.

He saw a broken sword falling into a location that was not far from Serithal. He saw a spear, and he even saw a staff that radiated immense power falling in the direction of the Trollspire Dungeon.

Some weapons were broken, but some were not.

Asides from that, he noticed that some of the falling stars were not only weapons and rubbles, but precious metals that one would not find easily on New Earth.

'It's like treasures are just falling on New Earth.'

Corey looked around with slightly furrowed brows.

'But where's that damn book? I just hope it's not with him, or he would have reaped the fruits of his labour.'

Corey's frown deepened, and his gaze rapidly zoomed in and out from one object to the other.

He exhausted copious amounts of his mental and spiritual energy, but after a full minute passed, he didn't see any sign of the Book of Death.

And this bothered him.

He reduced the output of his Eyes of Omniscience to a low level, and then he looked around him. At the chaos that was occurring in the capital of the Kingdom of Miracles.

At first, the hunters, guards, and several other people that had been fighting the monsters and beasts of the dungeon outbreak were distracted by the 'falling stars', it did not last long once the screams of their dying comrades resounded in their ears.

The monsters and beasts did not care about the falling stars in the sky, and they saw an opportunity to kill more humans, and they did.

Around Corey, there was no monster, beast, or human that approached him, and this was because he had placed a veil of illusion around him along with Breath of Omniscience which completely hid his presence.

Corey took a glance at the battles occurring around him with an indifferent expression, and then a thought came to his mind and he looked up once again.

A frown appeared on his face a few moments later. 'It doesn't look like any object of Virendell is going to fall on Serithal. How is that possible? Luck? Or...'

Corey suddenly looked in the direction of the Temple of Miracles.

'... Or a miracle?'

Numerous thoughts flashed in Corey's eyes as he looked at the Temple which was being protected by knights in shining white and golden armor.

'They're strong... Well, they're stronger than many of the Hunters I've seen in the association.'

This was Corey's assessment of them as he watched them battle.

Ten seconds later, he sensed something and his head snapped up.

'The book?'

Up in the air, he sensed the faint threatening aura of the Book of Death, and his eyes brightened.

The aura was extremely faint that if not for the fact that he had assigned his Stars of Consciousness to take note of any aura that was similar to the Book of Death, no matter how faint.

'If it's the book, then I'll have to-'

Corey's thought process was disrupted when the light of the sun was blocked. It was like an eclipse, total solar eclipse.

The world darkened.

And Corey's mouth was wide open.

"What the fuck?"

Up in the sky was not a book, but solid ground.

No.

Not just solid ground.

It was as large as a continent.

"Oh fuck."

Of all the things Corey had expected to happen, he didn't expect to Iiterally see a falling continent.

It was completely unexpected, and extremely disastrous.

'If it lands on New Earth, the number of lives that would be lost cannot even be imagined. It would number in the millions.'

'Wherever it lands would be completely destroyed, and the shockwave it would cause would cause even more destruction.'

'It would be similar to an apocalypse... A second apocalypse.'

Corey's gaze darkened.

'How in the world did something like this happen by the way? The massive space crack never swallowed a land mass this massive.'

His expression eased up, but his eyes were filled with countless thoughts.

'The closest thing I have to an answer is that it was formed as a result of countless stones and several other objects that were forced to mix together by the spatial crack.'

'But I have a very strong feeling that I'm wrong since it doesn't look like a pile of trash, but a naturally made piece of earth... Where in the world did it come from?'

What Corey did not know was that the falling continent was not from Virendell in the slightest.

After the spatial crack swallowed the throne and the book, both items did not suddenly appear close to the Clown.

Because they were both items of Death, their mere presence was extremely powerful and heavy. And this prevented the space crack from bringing the items directly in front of the Clown.

However, they were brought into the vicinity of New Earth.

The Book of Death was more special than the throne, and instead of appearing close to New Earth, it appeared outside the vicinity of another planet.

It was moving at an extremely fast speed, and it crashed into the planet. And a part of the planet shattered into pieces.

The landmass Corey was seeing was one of the many pieces of the unfortunate planet.

In a particular location on the continent-sized landmass was the Book of Death, but Corey did not know this.

However, what he did know was that if a miracle did not occur, the whole of New Earth was going to face a catastrophic change.

'Is there even anything I can do?'

Corey looked around, and unlike before when it was just minor objects that had been falling, everywhere was silent this time around.

Even the beasts and monsters knew that their lives were at stake this time around, and they began escaping back into the portals they came from.

'I should find a way to leave and protect myself too. If possible, underground.'

Corey was about to take a step forward, but then a golden eye appeared in the sky.

'The Universal System?' He paused and stared at the sky with furrowed brows.
