Chapter 793: 790: A Helping Hand
Corey's journey to the Haven Continent was what he would call uneventful.
Apart from observing several fights between monsters, beasts, and humans on the ground, nothing interesting happened to him.
He encountered some flying monsters that tried to attack him, but with his speed that was equivalent to that of a peak Tier 5, how could mere Tier 4 monsters catch up to him.
Corey did not even bother to kill the monsters.
From afar, he could sense numerous powerful auras in the direction of the Trollspire Dungeon.
Although, a part of him wished to see what was going on in the dungeon, he knew that it would be foolish of him to go since he has no business over there again.
Approximately thirty minutes later, Corey entered the outskirts of the Haven Continent.
He reduced his speed, and took more time to observe what was going on below, and what he saw was not a good sight at all.
He saw numerous battles occurring between humans, beasts, and monsters.
He could see numerous soldiers that were strategically placed at the border of the Haven Continent, and he could see some beasts and monsters that were trying to cross the border being killed by the soldiers.
The outskirts was basically in ruins, and Corey could not see any non-army like settlement in the outskirts.
All he could see were destroyed buildings and vehicles, craters, and dried blood in several places.
"Hmm."
Corey furrowed his brows slightly in thought, and some seconds later, he could sense gazes and several sensory skills trying to reach him.
He could see some people pointing in his direction, and he could even hear their conversations of confusion and shock.
"They're worried that I'm a Tier 4?"
Corey raised a brow, and then he looked in a particular direction.
He could feel the aura of a Tier 4 coming at him in full force, almost like she was trying to scare him away or send him a warning.
Corey rolled his eyes inwardly with a light chuckle.
He pointed his hand in a particular direction, and then he sent out a bolt of black lightning.
The moment he sent it out, he continued moving at a speed that was impossible for the Tier 4 to catch up to.
Also, to avoid any annoyance that might pop up, he used Infinite Mirage to hide himself.
'At least I helped you guys with a massive problem that would have happened in the future.' Corey thought with a light smile.
Meanwhile, the female Tier 4 appeared at Corey's previous position seven seconds after he left.
Her expression was one of wariness, confusion, and a little bit of fear as she used all her abilities to scout for Corey.
However, she sensed nothing, making her to wonder if she was running mad or hallucinating.
But she knew that she was not.
Why?
The black lightning bolt that Corey sent out.
She had sensed the power in it, and it frightened her. She felt that it had enough power to turn her to ash, and this was extremely shocking to her because she was a Tier 4.
As a Tier 4, she was in the upper ranks of power in the Haven Continent, so for a lightning bolt to make her instincts warn her so much meant that the being who could release such a lightning bolt was beyond Tier 4.
'Most likely a Tier 5?... But does that mean he's an Invader? Because it's only Invaders that are higher than Tier 4.'
'But why would an Invader try to enter the Haven Continent? I need to report this.'
The female Tier 4 soldier had a solemn expression, and then she looked in the direction of the lightning bolt.
She was about to move, thinking that the Invader had sent out the lightning bolt as a warning to her, but when her senses spread out, her eyes widened in disbelief.
"No way."
Without hesitation, she flew in a certain direction, and some moments later, she stood in front of massive corpse.
This corpse was that of an ape with bronze-like skin, and a size that was as large as a two-storey building.
Besides this ape was another ape. The ape was smaller, but it had the same characteristics as the bigger ape, but with an exception.
If had a closed eye in the middle of its forehead.
"A peak Tier 4 Bronze Armored Ape and a peak Tier 4 Bronze-Eyed Ape."
The female Tier 4 soldier had an extremely solemn expression as she stared at the two corpses.
She saw a hole in their hearts, along with faint traces of black lightning coursing through their bodies.
When she saw the black lightning, she could not help but look at the sky, thinking that she would see the man that shot out the black lightning hovering above her.
But obviously, she saw nothing.
"So he's not an Invader? Or he's an Invader that saved us just on a whim?"
The female Tier 4 soldier furrowed her brows in confusion, and then she shifted her gaze back at the two corpses.
'It's unfortunate that I didn't get to see his face clearly, but I know that he's a man at least.'
Although she had no idea what the intentions of the stranger was, she knew that he had saved her and all her soldiers.
There was no way she could killed two peak Tier 4 beasts on her own since she was still an early stage Tier 4.
If the two apes decided to attack her base, she and all her people would have died, and there would have been a hole in the border defence.
"But how come the scouts were not able to notice two peak Tier 4 beasts that were this close to the base? Something's fishy... Very fishy."
The female Tier 4 soldier muttered with a suspicious gaze, but hidden within that gaze was happiness and greed.
Why?
Because in front of her were two soul stones and some skill crystals of two peak Tier 4s.
Something which she would never have dreamed of.
She was about to get stronger, and she could not hide the greed and happiness in her heart.
