Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 790: 787: Changes (2)

Tribulation Echo: The Wrath of the Heavens has not forgotten you. Neither have you forgotten it.

Your defiance echoes across realms.

By invoking the memory of your tribulation, you unleash a devastating explosion of black lightning infused with your rage, your pain, and your refusal to fall.

When activated, instantly recover 30% of your maximum HP and purge yourself of all external debuffs. Then, release a massive area-of-effect lightning blast that mirrors the Eleventh Bolt—a manifestation of Heaven's fury and your defiance. This explosion deals catastrophic damage to enemies and leaves the land scarred, echoing with divine wrath.

Activation Requirement: This skill can only be activated in moments of profound emotion or mortal danger, when the heavens themselves would expect you to kneel.

----

As Corey read the new description of his new skill, Tribulation Echo, a surprised expression could be seen on his face because he had never read or heard of such a skill.

Especially it's activation requirement.

Out of pure curiosity, Corey tried to see if he could activate the skill, but he found out that he could not.

From what he could perceive, the skill could only be activated on very special conditions.

Although Corey was intrigued and surprised by the strange activation requirement, what he was also surprised about was the fact that the skill could instantly heal him up to 30% of his health if he was on the verge of death.

A strange scene appeared in his mind, one where he was on the verge of death and through his unwillingness, a bolt of black lightning fell from the skies and landed on him.

His body was healed to a certain degree, and he escaped the jaws of death.

'Getting healed by a tribulation lightning is... weird?'

Another thing that intrigued Corey was the fact that the description of Tribulation Echo changed.

He had never heard or read of such a thing happening, and he scoured through every knowledge he had, but no answer came to his mind.

'No.'

'There was a time when the Universal System was confused about my status... Maybe the Paragon Ancestor did something?'

'I might be wrong, but I might also be right.'

Corey went through the skill once again, and after seeing nothing else that interested him, he went through the two new titles he got.

Wielder of Transcendence: You have grasped what others chase their whole lives, not power alone, but the principle behind power. You do not simply possess Transcendence. You wield it, bend it, forge it into blade, shield, and path. You are not of this world… you stand above its rules.

----

Heaven's Wounded Pride: You made the heavens bleed. What was meant to be your execution became your coronation. Every bolt carved your name into the firmament.

-----

Just like all his previous titles, the Universal System did not give him the benefits or functions of his two new titles.

However, Corey knew that each title was extremely unique, and on his path to power when Titles would finally show their uses.

Although the Universal System did not list out the benefits of these two titles, he could feel them.

He knew that he felt different.

His body felt different. His soul felt different, and his mana felt different.

He had not tried it before, but he knew that if he was to perform any of his skills, whether he had a Transcendent proficiency in them or not, they would feel different.

All his skills felt easier to perform, and although this might not mean much since he had always performed his skills with ease, there was a difference this time around.

Let's say for example, he wanted to perform a combination of skills like Lightning Step, Hexagon Nova Shield, Silent Step, Paragon Martial Arts, Infinite Mirage, and Vibration Manipulation.

Corey would need about ten or maybe even more than ten Stars of Consciousness to use all these skills efficiently and without damaging himself in the process, but this time around, he believed that he needed at most two Stars of Consciousness.

Or maybe even just one Star of Consciousness.

This was a drastic difference, and although a part of him was not so excited or in awe about this, he knew that if a time ever came where he could not access his Stars of Conscious, this would help him in so many ways.

There were other effects to the skills themselves, but to go through every single one of them at the moment would be a waste of time in Corey's opinion.

As for Heaven's Wounded Pride, apart from Tribulation Echo which he obtained as a result of the Title, he knew of one other effect of the title.

His mana and affinity.

Corey raised his hand slowly, and his mana surged out.

It wrapped around his palm like smoke, but it was not just any kind of smoke.

It was black... but not pure black. Within the blackness, faint streaks of violet and green flickered like lightning bolts trapped in a stormcloud.

The green carried a poisonous glow, the kind that reminded one of venom dripping from the fangs of a deadly serpent.

Meanwhile, the violet reminded one of both dreams and nightmares. It felt... spiritual on a whole different level.

But it wasn't just poison and dreams.

Faint sparks of black lightning crackled across the surface of his palm, flashing briefly like distant thunder in the night.

It was silent... but powerful. Controlled... but unstable.

His mana looked like a storm of dreams, nightmares, plague, and thunder- silent, ominous, and deadly.

Although it looked like smoke, it flowed like water and shimmered like oil under sunlight, but instead of warmth, it gave off a cold pressure that made the air feel heavier.

"My mana just keeps on changing."

A light smile appeared on Corey's lips as he gazed at his mana that had changed once again.

Apart from the change to his mana, he also obtained one more thing.

Lightning Affinity.
