Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 606: 605: Heavier

The moment Corey entered the spatial crack leading to the second Tribulation of Hell, he found himself on a black glassy road. The road had no end, and on both sides of the road was a transparent glass which was also the source of the light in this strange realm.

'Glass again? It's a little bit similar to the first Tribulation of Hell. But what am I meant to do?'

Corey looked around with a slightly baffled expression, and when he did, he noticed that there was a human skeleton to his right. The skeleton was a few meters from him, and Corey wondered how he had not sensed the skeleton from the onset.

Just as he was wondering what the purpose of the skeleton was, a voice resounded across the entire world. The voice was extremely deep and ancient, and it felt like a thousand people were speaking at the same time.

"CARRY YOUR SIN AND WALK."

Corey's brows rose when he heard this and he could not help but have a confused expression.

'Carry my sin and walk?'

Corey looked at the skeleton, and then he frowned.

'Is the skeleton my sin? I don't understand.'

Although Corey wished to have more answers and knowledge regarding what the second Tribulation of Hell was, he knew that there was no way of getting these answers and knowledge.

He could already feel his instincts sending him a faint warning of an impending danger. He approached the skeleton, observed it for three seconds, and then he carried the skeleton.

He planned on carrying the skeleton in his arms, but to his absolute disbelief, the skeleton moved at a speed that was so fast to the point that he could not react to or comprehend.

Corey's heart froze and his eyes widened in horror a second after the skeleton moved. His body instinctively jumped to the side, despite already knowing that it was too late.

'What the fuck?!'

Corey's eyes snapped to his right shoulder, and the head of the skeleton was reflected in his violet-blue eyes.

The skeleton was on his back like a koala. It's hands were interlocked on Corey's chest, and it's legs were interlocked on Corey's stomach. No matter how much Corey tried, he could not remove the skeleton from his back.

Corey's eyes darkened as a faint sense of unease washed over him due to the sudden change in the skeleton. His instincts were also beginning to scream at him that he needed to start moving.

Corey exhaled deeply, and then his expression changed to one of utter calmness and focus. He looked around once again, wanting to make sure that he didn't miss anything, no matter how small or incosequential it may be.

Seeing that there was nothing else around him, Corey began to walk with the skeleton on his back.

As Corey walked, his wariness and focus was at an all time high and focus was at an all time high. The seconds went by, and exactly seven minutes after Corey started walking, his environment changed.

The mirrors beside him suddenly glowed with an extremely bright light, and Corey was forced to close his eyes due to sudden brightness and intensity. By the time he opened his eyes and looked around in wariness, he found out that his environment had changed.

He was no longer on a black glassy road, and there was no longer mirrors beside him. Instead, he was in a red desert.

'Where is this? And what is going to happen?'

Corey looked around with a calm but confused expression when he saw this. Although he had the urge to use his Eyes of Omniscience, he had been warned by Nina that using his Eyes of Omniscience in a Tribulation of Hell was extremely dangerous and he might see things that he was not meant to see.

He looked at his right shoulder, and he saw that the skeleton was still on his back.

'Is it just me or is the skeleton slightly heavier?'

Corey furrowed his brows, and then he looked behind him. He saw nothing but red sand, and although he was curious as to what would happen if he tried to take a step back, he had a feeling that he should not, and that if he did, he would regret it instantly.

Seeing that there was nothing else around him, Corey decided to do what the voice told him to do.

Carry his sin and walk.

Corey walked forward, and just like before, his wariness and focus was at an all time high. As Corey walked, he took note of the time.

'The environment changed after seven minutes. I wonder if the environment would change after seven minutes again.'

Seven minutes passed after Corey began walking, but unlike what he expected, there was no change in his surroundings.

'I guess I was wrong.'

Corey shrugged nonchalantly when he had this thought, and then he continued walking.

Six days passed after Corey walked, and in these six days, Corey had encountered not a single living thing nor non-living thing apart from the red sand.

One worrying fact Corey noticed was that there was no dunes nor any structure apart from flat sand. This might seem inconsequential to most, but this was extremely worrying to Corey because he was not certain if he was even going anywhere or making progress.

He could be walking in circles for all he knew or he could have been walking in the same spot while being in an illusion.

There was nothing he could use as a milestone or a sign that he was making progress. The sky had no stars to use, only a golden sun was in the sky.

'Although I'm making my footprint deeper than usual, I cannot the ignore the possibility of my footprints being wiped off… Should I use my Eyes of Omnscience?'

Corey furrowed his brows in thought, but a second later, he shook his head.

'The cons outweighs the pros. If I die in this place or I'm stuck here, then so be it. I just hope that my sister finds a way to survive or at least die in peace.'

Another day went by, and on this day, there was a change.

Thousands of meters behind Corey was a twister made entirely of red sand, and this twister was moving at an extremely fast speed.

Also, the skeleton on Corey's back became heavier.
