Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 494: 493: Nice Trick

For the first time since it could remember, Zal'Zerael was stunned.

It was more than five thousand years old, and he had experience with a lot of Outsiders, both male and female.

It had encountered female Outsiders who were extremely stupid, arrogant beyond measure, and extremely weak. However, there was one thing each female Outsider had in common when they faced it… fear.

Despite the arrogance, weakness, and foolishness these females possessed, and no matter how calm and confident they tried to act, Zal'Zerael could always perceive the scent of fear from them.

However, as it faced Pamela, heard her words, and observed her actions and behaviour, Zal'Zerael perceived not a single iota from Pamela.

The only things it sensed were fighting intent, calmness, arrogance, and… desire as she gazed into its eyes.

The last emotion was a little unsettling for Zal'Zerael, but it had a guess as to why Pamela had such an emotion in her gaze.

'She most likely wants the lightning infinity crystal in me… or maybe she sees my body as a treasure… Regardless of the reason… She dies.'

As Zal'Zerael had this thought, the tension between Pamela and it rose.

Zal'Zerael's figure loomed above Pamela, its immense form seeming to stretch beyond the boundaries of comprehension. The air around it crackled with static energy, and arcs of crimson lightning danced between the jagged shards of its fractured body.

The skies which were already dark, became darker than even the night of a mortal world, and a second later, it churned violently as if responding to the rising tension.

Pamela, on the other hand, stood her ground, floating in midair with an air of unshakable confidence. Her black cargo pants and baggy sweatshirt fluttered in the fierce winds generated by Zal'Zerael's presence, but her silver eyes, marked with the symbol of infinity, reflected nothing but amusement.

"You amuse me, Outsider… But your arrogance will not save you. Your name, like your existence, will be erased."

Zal'Zerael rumbled its voice a thunderous cacophony that tore through the air. Each word felt like a blade of sound, cutting into reality itself, and just like the previous times it had spoken, a shockwave was generated just because it spoke.

However, this time around, the way Zal'Zerael's voice sounded in Pamela's ears was somewhat 'normal'. She manipulated the runes in the air to influence Zal'Zerael's voice, and Zal'Zerael noticed this.

Pamela had noticed very quickly, but regardless of whether one blocked the effects of his voice or not, one's mind would be constantly pressured the longer one listened to Zal'Zerael speak.

Just hearing Zal'Zerael's voice causes pressure to appear in one's mind, and with every word that one hears, more pressure builds up in the person's mind.

Pamela smirked with a playful expression when she heard Zal'Zerael's words, "You talk too much for someone who got stunned by a kiss… Maybe I should give you another?" She winked.

The air trembled as a low, guttural growl emanated from Zal'Zerael's throat.

Without warning, the titan flapped its wings, and the force of the movement alone sent shockwaves rippling through the atmosphere. Tornadoes erupted in the distance, ripping through the land, while lightning bolts the size of towers descended from the heavens, turning the ground below into molten craters.

Pamela's hair fluttered wildly as she floated, her infinity-marked eyes glimmering with calm focus. The runes whispered in her ears, warning her of an impending attack, but she didn't need them to see it coming.

The next instant, Zal'Zerael's wings blurred, and it vanished.

Pamela's pupils constricted to the limit as the massive form of Zal'Zerael reappeared behind her, its enormous jaws opening wide to devour her whole. The very air distorted around its maw, the force of its presence creating visible shockwaves.

As the colossal jaw closed around her, Pamela scoffed, "Hmph."

She raised her hand, and with a flick of her fingers, dozens of glowing rune circles appeared around her. Each circle hummed with power, crackling with energy as they rotated rapidly.

"Prismatic Aegis."

A barrier of translucent, shimmering light erupted around Pamela, just as Zal'Zerael's teeth slammed shut.

A deafening sound resounded across the earth and skies of Raging Sky. The force of Zal'Zerael's bite sent a shockwave that rippled across the skies, but Pamela's barrier held firm, glowing brightly as it absorbed the impact.

Sparks of electricity danced across its surface, and cracks began to form, but Pamela remained unfazed.

With a dismissive wave of her hand, the barrier expanded outward in a pulse of energy, forcing Zal'Zerael to recoil. The dragon's massive body twisted in the air, but the way it twisted defied every single law of physics that was known to man.

It was… just wrong.

Zal'Zerael's eyes glowed and narrowed as it regarded Pamela with renewed intensity.

"You think your petty tricks can stop me?"

Pamela shrugged, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Petty tricks? Oh, honey, that was just me saying hello. Now… let's get serious."

Pamela clapped her hands together, and the runes around her flared to life. Glowing circles of light formed beneath her feet, spreading outward in an intricate web of patterns. The air grew heavy with the tremendous amount of mystic mana that was inside each rune, and the ground below began to tremble.

Ze'Zerael roared when it saw Pamela's actions, and its voice shook the heavens. "Enough!"

The dragon-like abomination flapped its wings again, and a cyclone of pure lightning and wind surged toward Pamela, crackling with destructive energy. The storm consumed everything in its path, reducing the land below to rubble and vaporizing the air itself.

Pamela raised her hand, and a rune twice the size of her head materialized before her, it emitted a golden light that would blind mortals who dared to stare at it.

The rune spun rapidly, and then it absorbed the cyclone's energy before splitting it into countless fragments that scattered harmlessly into the wind.

"Nice trick," Pamela said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "But storms don't scare me."
