Chapter 353: Chapter 350.
Chapter 350.
At this moment, on the Hell's Killing Field, both Tang San and Hu Liena slowly regained their consciousness. Tang San, with his stronger mental power, was the first to wake up. As Wang Feng had anticipated, even though Tang San had been consumed by his killing instincts, he still remembered everything clearly.
After the final match, where he had killed the nine opponents, Tang San, who had been suppressing two years' worth of built-up killing intent, finally lost control. Over the past few months, he had hardly cultivated, instead focusing on maintaining his mental stability, trying to suppress the overwhelming bloodlust.
However, two matches before the end, Tang San could feel himself nearing his limit. He survived purely through his indomitable will, but in the final match, the accumulated killing intent of the nine opponents broke through the barrier he had built over the past two years, causing an uncontrollable flood of murderous desire to surge through his soul and mind. It was this killing intent that had overwhelmed him.
Hu Liena had been in a similar state. In the last two matches, she relied on the mental support from the Star Light Fox's soul bone to stay conscious. However, even that failed in the final match. The sheer bloodlust from her opponents was too much to handle, and like Tang San, she also lost control.
Each person they killed only added more killing intent to their own. The more they killed, the more intense their bloodlust became, accumulating over time.
The nine opponents they faced in the final match were no ordinary people either. In fact, Hu Liena had wanted to approach the White Death God before because she had sensed his calming presence. Once, when she had passed by him, she had felt more lucid, but two years ago, Wang Feng had kept his distance from her, ignoring her completely. Not wanting to embarrass herself, she eventually gave up trying to interact with him.
At this point, Hu Liena, drenched in sweat, took deep breaths, savoring the fresh air. She felt immense relief as the chaotic killing intent had receded very significantly. Though it still lingered within her, it was now manageable.
"Did he save me?" Hu Liena wondered, feeling both surprised and confused. Her black outfit clung to her body, soaked in sweat, highlighting her graceful and curvaceous figure. Her skin glistened with beads of sweat, and her disheveled hair was streaked with blood, adding to her strange, fierce appearance.
After resting for a bit, Hu Liena turned her attention to Tang San, the Shura, who had also fully recovered. She was impressed by his mental strength, which appeared to be superior to her own, despite her own increased spiritual power due to the mutation of her martial soul and the Star Light skull soul bone she possessed. The soul bone had heightened her mental capabilities to a level comparable to a powerful Soul Douluo.
"Why would the White Death God save me and the Shura?" she pondered. Two years ago, Wang Feng had avoided any interaction with them. So, why save them now?
Could it be because of Hell Road? Or perhaps due to the Great Slaughter King's manipulation? Hu Liena realized that their brutal killing spree over the past two years must have been orchestrated. The Great Slaughter King, or someone else with similar power, had likely arranged for them to face increasingly dangerous opponents, pushing them to their limits.
"Does the White Death God plan to use our strength to overcome Hell Road? Is that why he saved us?" she speculated, thinking about how facing Hell Road together with Tang San would greatly increase their chances of survival. The idea seemed logical. "If that's the case, then maybe he does have a reason to save us after all. I'll just have to ask him about it later."
Tang San, meanwhile, had also pieced together a similar theory. He glanced at Hu Liena, confirming that she had likely reached the same conclusion. They both understood that the White Death God's motives were not purely altruistic.
Hu Liena approached Wang Feng cautiously, stopping five meters away. This was the closest she had been to him in two years. As soon as she stepped within range of his presence, an overwhelming sense of peace washed over her. It was as if she had entered a serene forest, breathing fresh air for the first time in years. The suffocating killing intent within her heart was instantly soothed.
Hu Liena was startled by how strong this effect was. The last time she had merely passed by him, she hadn't noticed it as clearly. But now, standing closer, the comfort was almost overwhelming.
In truth, most ordinary people wouldn't feel such an extreme reaction around Wang Feng. –His presence was calming, but not excessively so. However, for Hu Liena and Tang San, who had been immersed in the chaotic energy of the Slaughter City for so long, the relief was far more pronounced. Their martial soul, strained to the limit, now felt a release they hadn't experienced in years.
"It's no wonder people in the inner city are obsessed with him, even going mad for a chance to stay by his side," Hu Liena thought to herself–. "His aura is far more soothing than any grandmaster I've ever encountered."
Tang San shared her shock. He recalled legends from his previous world of martial arts grandmasters who could achieve harmony with the world, calming the minds of those around them. This White Death God aura seemed even stronger than those fabled abilities.
"Thank you," Hu Liena said softly, still basking in the peaceful atmosphere.
"No need," Wang Feng replied indifferently. "Two years ago, you warned me about the Shadowless Assassin. Consider us even."
Both Hu Liena and Tang San were taken aback by his response.
After that he approached Hu Liena abruptly, held her waist close and kissed her on the lips, taking Hu Liena by surprise and even Tang San who was standing beside them was left dumbfounded by this sudden action of the White Death.
