"What is it forming?" I couldn't help muttering to myself as I watched the corruption energy.

Though there were flames that were falling down on it, there was just too much corruption energy that was coming out of the ground.

Even Joan's divine energy flames just weren't enough to take care of all this corruption energy.

However, it didn't seem like all of the corruption energy was being used to resist the flames. It seemed like it was only a small part of the corruption energy that was being used to create a barrier against the flames.

The rest of it seemed to be gathering in the spot where it came out of the ground.

It seemed to be forming some kind of ball?

But what was this ball?

Since I was here, I could tell that this wasn't all of the corruption energy that was coming out of the ground. I could sense that there was more and more of the corruption energy that was coming out as time passed.

It really seemed like it was a matter of time before something big happened.

I could also see the various looks that the others were giving me, showing that they wanted to withdraw from this place when they saw that the flames weren't working.

But I couldn't withdraw that easily.

I had to at least figure out what this array was for and what they were gathering all of this corruption energy to do.

After the equilibrium existed for some time, that was when there was finally a reaction that came from the ball that was forming. It had been just gathering more and more corruption energy until now, but all of a sudden…

"It's flattening itself? It seems to be forming some kind of pattern? But this is a pattern that's different from the ones that it formed previously…" I said to myself while watching everything that happened.

Then all of a sudden, there was a sense of danger that came from this pattern on the ground.

It was clear that this pattern was some kind of array that was created with corruption energy, but what kind of array would require this much corruption energy?

Unless it was something that was very big.

"Is it the God of Destruction?"

No it couldn't be that since I had already encountered the God of Destruction, so I had an idea of what the aura of the God of Destruction was like. This feeling was definitely not on the same level as the God of Destruction.

Not to mention that there was something familiar about this sensation.

"It's an Apostle of Destruction." That was the only explanation that I could come up with after thinking it through.

Only it still didn't make sense…

If the forces of Destruction were doing all of this just for a single Apostle of Destruction, then it would seem like a waste of time. After all, it wasn't as if a single Apostle of Destruction would be enough to actually cause enough problems.

"Then it has to be a summoning circle that will bring about all of their forces. There must be more that will be summoned after this single Apostle of Destruction."

After this thought passed through my mind, I said, "Everyone spread and surrounded the array. Make sure that you're ready to attack the moment that they step out of the array. We can't let them come out!"

Once again, everyone was confused when they heard this.

However, I had already been appointed as the leader of our group, so they followed my orders even if they didn't understand it. Everyone immediately prepared their biggest attacks as if they were ready to blow it to kingdom come the moment that this thing stepped out of the array.

After a while, the thing that was being formed by the array did take its complete form.

It was a humanoid figure, but it was completely covered in the dark corruption energy that one couldn't see their true appearance. But based on the shape that it took, it looked like some kind of knight covered in armour.

Once this Apostle of Destruction finally finished forming, it looked around at all of us that were gathered around it.

Even though we had all prepared our strongest attacks, it didn't seem like the Apostle of Destruction was worried at all. It just looked at us as if it was sizing all of us up until it finally turned to look at me.

That was when it suddenly raised its hand and pointed at me without making a single sound.

I didn't understand what it was doing until it suddenly shot out a beam at me.

Or it was what I thought was a beam…

When I dodged out of the way, the beam suddenly stopped and formed a few letters in the air.

"Surrender to the God of Destruction and I'll spare you."

I couldn't help being caught off guard by this sudden move from the Apostle of Destruction, but that wasn't the only thing that it did.

The Apostle of Destruction suddenly lowered its hand and took a step forward to leave the summoning circle.

Once it came out of the summoning circle, everyone immediately released their attacks at this Apostle of Destruction. They didn't hold back a single thing, they were planning on destroying it with all of their might.

But all the Apostle of Destruction did was raise a hand before waving it at all of these attacks.

Just that single wave of its hand was enough to blow all of the attacks away.

Even though these were attacks filled with divine energy and holy magic, it didn't land a single scratch on the Apostle of Destruction as it created this layer of corruption energy around itself.

Though it was a layer of corruption energy, it wasn't actually used as a barrier.

Instead, it had been used as something to slap all these attacks away.

Just what was this Apostle of Destruction?
