Shinigami: Medicine Can't Save The Soul Reaper Society

Chapter 229: Chapter 230: Must Be Abolished

Makoto's first reaction…

Unohana-sensei actually joined that so-called " Capture-Makoto Association"?

What was she thinking?!

Second reaction: Why does it seem like the entire Fourth Division knows more about that "Capture-Makoto Association" than I do?

At this moment, Makoto's expression could only be described as… peculiar.

Especially considering that Unohana-sensei was also involved. The more he thought about it, the more unsettling it became.

Fortunately, Makoto had always kept his distance from that "Capture-Makoto Association" and had hardly interacted with them.

"Come to think of it, doesn't Makoto-kun really know about the 'Capture-Makoto Association'?"

Hanataro looked puzzled as he spoke.

"Strange, isn't it? Many times, we asked Captain Unohana to personally invite Makoto-kun to join the association's activities, but each time, she said Makoto-kun declined, citing his dedication to mastering Kaidō."

Makoto: ???!

He cleared his throat, coughing lightly, and without daring to expose Unohana, he feigned sudden realization.

"Now that you mention it, I seem to recall something like that. Unohana-sensei did ask me about it, but I was usually busy, so I instinctively declined all unfamiliar event invitations."

Immediately, Hanataro looked as if he had learned something significant and praised Makoto.

"No wonder Makoto-kun was promoted to Vice-captain in such a short time! Everyone only sees the glory and gentleness on the surface, but they don't know how much hard work Makoto-kun has put in behind the scenes!"

Then, Hanataro pulled out a small notebook from his sleeve and began diligently jotting down notes.

"No, I must write this down. Next time at the association's regular sharing session, I'll present this as a new anecdote about Makoto-kun."

Makoto watched… speechless, unsure how to react.

Is your association really that boring?

However, recalling the crazy fan antics from his past life, Makoto suddenly felt that such an association was relatively reasonable and dignified in comparison.

Still, wasn't he supposed to be recognized for his gentle strength? How did it suddenly turn into a bizarre path centered around appearance and charisma?

Suddenly, a thought struck Makoto, and he asked, "Does Unohana-sensei frequently participate in those association activities where they share these stories?"

Hanataro nodded earnestly. "Yes, every time I attend, Captain Unohana is always present. In fact, she's the one who provides the venue, tea, and refreshments for each meeting."

In an instant, Makoto felt a cold sweat break out across his body.

His fan club… had unknowingly become Unohana-sensei's network of informants?

For a moment, Makoto had the illusion that his wife had become the head of his fan club, monitoring his every move. If he ever engaged in anything remotely questionable with a fan, Unohana-sensei would know immediately.

Of course, Unohana-sensei wasn't his wife… yet(?).

But that only made things worse!

'No, this kind of shady organization must be firmly abolished!'

The idea sprang to Makoto's mind instinctively.

Of course, it wasn't because he feared Unohana's vast network of informants; he simply believed that such a lowbrow pastime was a pointless waste of time and had no positive impact.

However, in the Gotei 13, even Yamamoto would hesitate to issue direct orders to Unohana.

This meant that even if he reported or complained about this problematic association to the First Division, the complaint would likely circle back to Unohana, allowing her to handle it as she pleased.

But…

A thought flashed through Makoto's mind, and his eyes narrowed slightly.

No, perhaps this could work!

Whether the association could actually be disbanded wasn't the main point; the key was to indirectly and convincingly demonstrate his position and innocence to Unohana.

He needed to make it clear that he had never harbored any improper intentions toward those fans—never! Really, never!!

Without hesitation, Makoto returned to his Vice-captain's office and immediately drafted a formal report in the name of the Fourth Division's Vice-captain, submitting it to the First Division.

The report outlined his concerns about the inappropriate nature of the association and earnestly detailed its various negative impacts on the Fourth Division's operations, requesting the First Division to take action and disband the group.

As expected, the report was met with silence upon reaching the First Division.

Makoto waited for half a month, but there was no response. Then, one evening, under a beautiful moonlit sky, while Makoto and Unohana were enjoying tea and flowers in the courtyard, Unohana handed him the report.

Sure enough… just as he had anticipated, the report had ended up in Unohana's hands.

No matter the world, certain rules and human nature remained surprisingly consistent.

Holding her teacup gracefully, Unohana wore a serene expression as she took a delicate sip and said gently, "Makoto, take a look at this report."

Makoto opened the report and skimmed through its contents, feigning just the right amount of surprise.

"Huh? Sensei, isn't this the report I submitted to the First Division half a month ago?"

"Indeed. Since the First Division couldn't decide on a response, they forwarded it directly to me."

After a brief pause, Unohana smiled warmly and continued, "Makoto, do you dislike this association? I actually find it rather amusing."

Makoto blinked and replied, "I wouldn't say I dislike it. It's just that I've never had any contact with the association, yet my name keeps being brought up. I was concerned that someone might use my name to deceive or discredit others."

He paused deliberately and added with a hint of helplessness, "To prevent anyone from being misled, I thought it would be better to disband the association."

Unohana's eyes gleamed slightly, as if catching the subtle implications in Makoto's words.

He was implying that the association's information was unreliable and exaggerated. Any negative rumors about him were definitely falsehoods.

"I see… I still think the association is quite interesting. Occasionally, I follow their discussions, and they've shared some amusing stories about you. For example…"

Placing her teacup down, Unohana smiled mischievously. "It seems Makoto has some impressive skills in acupuncture."
