Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Eriri's Secret Revealed
Haruno and Yukino put on Shin-chan's T-shirts, clearly several sizes too big and not a good fit, but at least they weren't completely exposed, which helped the sisters calm down a bit.
No matter what, at least they didn't have to worry about staying cats for the rest of their lives.
"You two... why did you suddenly appear in my house!"
Shin-chan chose to play the villain and complain first, but after everything that just happened, Yukino felt like she'd already seen right through this guy.
If it had just been her alone, Yukino probably wouldn't be so angry, but the problem was her sister was here too. And they had both been completely seen.
Plus, just now, the two of them had been sitting on his lap.
What made it even worse was that Shin-chan kept staring at Haruno.
Yukino once again felt the malice of the world. Why did her sister always have to be so dazzling?
Still, Yukino was comforted that Shin-chan had recognized her.
"It was a Bakeneko's curse, Shin-chan. Our Yukino thought of you first, you know."
After putting on clothes, Haruno had regained her calm, and her personality seemed to revert to the usual wicked big-sister mode.
However, whenever she looked at Shin-chan, she still couldn't help but recall the feeling of being held in his arms earlier, so warm and completely dominated.
It felt like some terrifying new fetish in her heart was awakening.
The most thrilling part was, Yukino had been with her the whole time. Wasn't that what she had secretly wished for, to spend their whole lives together?
After explaining everything that had happened today to Shin-chan, Haruno glanced at her younger sister, who was still flushed red and looked like she might explode at any moment. She decided not to tease Yukino for now.
"But… it looks like our room door is locked. Shin-chan, can you come with me to the management office to get a spare key?"
This was a high-end apartment. The management office downstairs kept spare keys.
Haruno had helped Yukino rent this apartment. Although they were wearing Shin-chan's clothes now, the shirts didn't fit well, so she asked for an extra coat. Only then did Haruno feel a bit safer, at least they wouldn't flash anything.
With her sister off to get the spare key with Shin-chan, Yukino collapsed onto the couch.
Why… why did something like this have to happen to her?
She was glad Shin-chan had recognized her and lifted the Bakeneko curse, but the price for breaking it was way too high.
If only her sister hadn't been there too…
As Yukino was spiraling with these thoughts, a sudden flash of inspiration struck her.
She stood up immediately and went into Shin-chan's bedroom.
"Shiro, thank you so much for today! I'll prepare a big feast for you!"
Seeing Shiro lying on the mat in the bedroom, Yukino was full of gratitude. At the critical moment, Shiro had proven to be reliable.
When Shiro barked twice, Yukino felt a bit disappointed, now that she'd turned back into a human, she could no longer understand what Shiro was saying.
'Why did a guy like Shin-chan get to have such a dependable dog?'
But Yukino didn't come into Shin-chan's room just to thank Shiro. She looked up at the drawing of Eriri at Shin-chan's bedside.
Until now, Yukino had always felt something strange about Eriri and Shin-chan's relationship. But today's experience made her feel like she'd uncovered the truth.
Looking closely, the Yorkshire terrier in the painting had incredibly expressive eyes, and its focus was entirely on Shin-chan. 'This dog, it was Eriri! Those eyes are exactly the same!'
In other words, Eriri had experienced something similar. And judging from this painting and how the two interacted, it wasn't just a brief time as a dog. 'She must've spent a long time with Shin-chan in that form.'
'No wonder she instinctively called Shin-chan "Master"!'
After staring at the painting for a few more seconds, Yukino returned to the living room.
In the elevator, Haruno had been secretly watching Shin-chan the entire time. Being sharp as she was, she'd already realized, Shin-chan had probably recognized Yukino from the very start.
But even after recognizing her, he wasn't surprised at all. He just casually started petting her, and dragged her into it, too. This man was truly terrifying.
"Shin-chan, do you like rice bowls?"
"They're fine, depends on the ingredients."
'You bastard…'
She originally wanted to tease him with some innuendo and catch him off guard, but Shin-chan's reply just made her more embarrassed. Was she supposed to ask whether she and Yukino counted as top-tier ingredients?
Under the apartment manager's somewhat suggestive gaze, Haruno successfully obtained the spare key.
"No matter what, thank you for everything today. If it weren't for you, Yukino and I might've stayed cats forever."
Shin-chan was unreliable in many ways, but the fact that he recognized Yukino immediately showed he genuinely cared.
Even relatives or close friends probably couldn't have done that.
At least Haruno felt like her own father or friends might not have recognized her.
What Haruno didn't know was that the bond between Shin-chan and Yukino hadn't actually reached that level, it was just that Shin-chan himself was especially perceptive. Especially when it came to girls, he had an almost supernatural intuition.
Always being outplayed by Shin-chan, Haruno realized this guy wasn't just some shy boy who couldn't even talk to her, his level was way above hers.
'Yukino would probably get completely taken in by him, right?'
Women in the Yukinoshita family were usually the ones to take the initiative. So how did they end up with someone like Yukino, who was so awkward and stiff?
"Yukino, we're back! Got the key too!"
Back in Shin-chan's apartment, Haruno was full of energy, back to her usual self in front of Yukino.
Seeing that Yukino's expression had also calmed down, no longer looking like she was going to die from shame, Haruno quietly let out a sigh of relief.
"Are you staying at Shin-chan's place tonight? I can pretend I don't know anything, you know~"
"Can you just stop talking and go home already, Sis!"
Even though she'd discovered Shin-chan and Eriri's secret, Yukino was still incredibly shy. At the very least, today, she didn't dare to look Shin-chan in the eye.
The moment she saw him, she'd think of when she turned into a cat… and what happened when she turned back.
