Yami's instincts screamed. The Fenrir's fangs were inches away, glowing with dark energy, ready to tear through his throat.
But something inside him shifted.
A pulse.
A familiar voice echoed in his mind—
"Reaper's Will… unlocked."
Suddenly—
BOOM!
A wave of black energy exploded from Yami's body. The entire dungeon shook, and the Fenrir was blasted backward, crashing into the stone wall.
The pitch-black Nightmare Domain shattered instantly, and Yami could see clearly again.
He exhaled, gazing at his hands. There was a new energy that flowed through his veins, colder than ice, denser than death itself.
Then—
DING!
A system notification appeared.
[New Skill Unlocked: Death's Grasp]
Effect: Temporarily disables the target's defenses and regeneration upon contact.
Duration: 10 seconds.
Warning: Only affects creatures tainted by Reaper's Will.
Yami grinned. "Oh, now that's handy."
He turned to the Fenrir, which had already stood up. But this time, something was different.
The beast's glowing eyes trembled.
It was afraid.
Yami cracked his knuckles. "Yeah, I'd be scared too."
The Fenrir snarled and lunged again, but this time, Yami didn't dodge.
Instead—
He stepped forward, reaching out.
"Death's Grasp."
His hand met the Fenrir's fur—and instantly, dark veins spread across the beast's body, its energy draining away.
The monster staggered, its once-intimidating presence fading rapidly.
"No more healing," Yami said coldly.
The Fenrir whimpered.
And then, before it could react—
SHING!
Yami's scythe sliced through its throat, clean and final.
The Nightmare Fenrir collapsed, its massive body disintegrating into black mist.
DING!
"Boss defeated!"
"Soul Absorbed. Reaper's Will +5%."
"Level Up!"
Yami exhaled, stretching his shoulders. "Man, that was a workout."
As the Fenrir's soul merged into him, he felt a new power stir within. Something deep, something dormant—but waiting.
The God of Death's will… was awakening.
He smiled. "Guess I'll just have to keep killing until I unlock the rest."
With that, he stood before the next dungeon door—
And stepped forward.
