Chapter 17: CH 16: Friendship?
Leo let the hot water of the bath ease the ache that seemed to be a constant companion these days. He had started waking up early every morning to train before school because he couldn't muster the energy to do his homework and readings after training with Lucy. This morning had been brutal.
And despite giving it everything he had, Leo had failed.
He wouldn't say Lucy had cheated—at least not to her face—but today's task had depended exclusively on his burgeoning talent with his magic. His increased strength, agility, and endurance had only helped a little. Leo regretted telling Lucy about a certain swamp-dwelling Jedi Master.
Today she'd had him balance on one hand while she perched on his feet. And just like Yoda had made Luke do in the swamp, he'd then had to lift a number of increasingly heavy rocks in the air. Unlike Yoda, Lucy hadn't stopped with a few rocks.
Leo had to lift ten rocks that ranged from the size of his fist to the size of a small car.
He'd managed the first five well enough, only wavering when the weight perched on his bare feet shifted as Lucy clapped in glee—just before she started making things interesting, as she called it. The odd numbered rocks had gotten lighter, while gravity quadrupled on Leo and the even numbered rocks.
He'd managed to stabilize things and even lifted the sixth rock under the increased gravity, but toppled over when Lucy switched things up again when his magic reached for the seventh rock.
His current aches centered on his bruised sternum—where Lucy's pert buttocks had landed when he fell.
Leo's cheeks heated when he remembered the fire in Lucy's red eyes when she realized how she had landed, knees spread apart around his head with her bare thighs caressing his cheeks. She'd immediately scooted forward.
He'd noticed the wet spot that immediately formed in the tight shorts his maid had worn to training. And if that weren't enough, the enticing smell of sweet honey had driven him crazy.
His 'punishment' for having failed that morning's training exercise was to remain there on his back with Lucy's crotch hovering a scant inch over his chin while she lectured him for another ten minutes on the manipulation of gravitational fields to maneuver objects up to a hundred pounds along the horizontal as well as a vertical axis.
Throughout his ordeal, Lucy's voice had not changed. It remained the same calm tone she always used. Unable to see her face, he believed that it hadn't changed in the slightest, either. He would have been shocked to see the faint tinge of a blush coloring his maid's cheeks as she recited methods for rotating the axis of objects his magic focused on.
What had changed, was the size of the wet spot above his chin. By the end of the lecture, Lucy's tight shorts had a wide wet splotch that outlined her sex. The alluring odor of honey nearly overwhelmed him. He wanted nothing more than to give in and tilt his head enough to feast on the prize before him.
He'd resisted the urge, of course—because that was obviously what she wanted him to do
When she'd finished her lecture and given him his homework for the day, Leo had climbed to his feet with a smirk on his face. He'd already thought of several ways to get even with his maid. Now, he just had to ensure he completed the homework she'd assigned him to be able to carry it out.
Looking over from where his head rested against the marble of the tub, Leo raised the purple rock the size of his fist from the floor. It rose from the tile easily enough. The hard part was making it shift to the left or the right.
It wobbled before twitching an inch to the left before falling to the tile with a thunk.
This wasn't going to be easy. Fortunately, Lucy had glamored the rock so that only supernaturals with strong wills could see it. He would keep at it all day.
He had until dinner time to make the glamored rock trace a figure eight in the air. Tonight, when he demonstrated he'd completed the homework, he'd have his revenge.

Leo walked a bit slower than usual, most of his focus on the purple rock he nudged behind him.
Good thing he'd left more than half-an-hour early, because he'd either have had to pick his training rock up, or be late to class. And he'd sworn to himself he wouldn't pick up the damn rock.
"Leo? Leo… Leo!"
He was halfway across the quad before he realized someone was calling his name. Blinking as he let the rock sink to the ground behind him, Leo turned to see Shuri hurrying to catch up to him.
"Oh… hey Shuri."
"I thought you were ignoring me!" the dark-haired beauty said with a scowl.
"Sorry about that…" Leo rubbed the back of his neck. "Guess I had my head in the clouds."
Shuri tilted her head to the side, eyes narrowing. She stared at the purple rock touching Leo's shoe. "Head in the clouds or working on your magic?"
Leo blushed but didn't answer.
"Don't suppose you'd trust me enough to reveal what kind of magic you have?" She gave him a look that put most puppies to shame.
Leo rolled his eyes, then scooped up the rock and put it in his backpack. "Maybe when you've earned that trust."
"Well, I hope you'll trust me enough at least to accept my invitation to our club house," Shuri continued. She turned and pointed across the quad at the second story of the student center. "It's in the student center… "
"I can't right now. I have class in five minutes," Leo replied after checking his watch. "But I'd be happy to meet you after class… say around four?"
Shuri beamed at him. "Four would be perfect, Leo-san! I look forward to seeing you then. I'll pick you up from your classroom."
***
Leo studied his lab partner. He knew something was bothering her, and not just because she'd had trouble concentrating. Her mistakes had forced them to start their experiment over twice. He'd covered for her when the professor had come around asking if everything was alright. But he knew something was wrong.
Asa looked terrible. The petite blonde had dark bags under her eyes and her light blonde hair hung limp. If Leo didn't know better, he'd say his friend hadn't been sleeping well and was suffering from severe depression.
She'd skipped their previous study session, so he hadn't seen her for a week. That wasn't like her. The person before him was so unlike his friend that he had to say something.
"You know you can talk to me, right?" Leo said.
"Uh… what?" Asa paused, her textbook only halfway in her backpack.
"Look. I can see something is really troubling you. I want to help… if you'll let me." Leo scowled. "Is your brother Duane still being an asshole?"
Asa shuddered, her textbook falling into her backpack with a thump. "It's… it's not Duane. Things aren't good at home… but it's not him." She buried her face in her hands.
Leo laid a hand on her shoulder, giving it a squeeze. "I want to help, Asa. Tell me what's got you so upset."
"It's this… my crazy Uncle is in town." She shuddered again. "He's a real creep. Whenever I'm at home, he follows me around… always pushing in close… saying the ugliest, foulest things… as if I would ever…"
Leo stiffened, his hands clenching into fists. "He hasn't touched you or made you do anything you're not comfortable with?"
Asa snorted, looking up. Though there were tears in her eyes, the warm smile on her face was for the concern she heard in Leo's voice. "He's made several inappropriate offers… and I'm just sick of the perverted old jerk. But he hasn't forced himself on me or anything."
Leo ground his teeth. "If you need a safe place to stay… just say the word. You are welcome to stay with me."
Asa blinked, eyes wide. "Oh, no… I couldn't…"
"Mi casa es su casa, if you need it," he said, giving her shoulder another squeeze. "And if you need me to knock some sense into some idiots, I'm happy to do that, too."
Asa looked down, cheeks blushing. "Thank you…" she murmured. "I… I really appreciate it."
When she looked up, it was with the smile he was used to seeing on her face. "If things get any worse, I'll take you up on your offer. But you don't want to mess with my family. They're all a bunch of jerks… but they are powerful jerks."
Leo nodded. "Those are the kind of jerks I'm used to dealing with."
The petite blonde blushed again, a small smile still on her lips.
"I have to meet someone… I already promised them… but if you need me to walk you—" Leo began, but Asa interrupted him.
"No… gods no, Leo! I don't want you to see what a mess my life is." She slung her backpack over one shoulder. "Go meet whoever you were going to meet… I've probably made you late already."
"Okay… but I'll tell them to wait if you need my help."
"Get going, already!" She gave him a push towards the door.
