Chapter 5: Beverly, Kenzo Boutique
The next day Silvio takes a taxi and directly goes to Beverly Hills, a district of an upper class residential district close to his university. Silvio has been thinking about it last night. He has the money now. Why shouldn't he buy a very large house as his base. It will be better than living in a dormitory like now.
Beverly Hills is a small and exclusive residential area that has been developed in recent years. It is convenient for transportation, has a superior position, and has first rate facilities. It is a super luxurious small district in New York. He goes straight to the sales office. As he walks to the desk, he accidentally bumps into a lady who has just entered the office.
"Ah, watch out. Look what you did. You almost step on my new shoes. Can you even afford a property here?" The woman has short brown hair. She wears sunglasses, a long figure-hugging dress and a pair of high-heeled crystal sandals. Although she looks in her mid thirties, her exposed arms are as white as snow.
Behind the woman, there is a man wearing jeans, a white vest, brown leather sandals, and carrying a bag under his arm. He says, "Don't waste your time talking to someone like that, babe."
The saleswoman quickly walks over and warmly greets the couple. Then, she glances at Silvio, looking irritated with him.
"The people around here know this is a high class residential area, some people who can't afford a house often come in here to enjoy free air conditioning."
Silvio knows the saleswoman was talking about him.
Ignoring Silvio, the saleswoman ushers the couple to the sales desk and begins showing them properties. After discussing several properties for ten minutes, the man says, "I will take that villa."
The saleswoman replies, "You have a good eye, sir. This villa is the most popular in the district, 2500 square feet with five bedrooms. This property costs 1.5 million dollars and you need to pay 30% upfront."
The man was very shocked. " So much?"
When the saleswoman notices the shocked expression of the man, she starts to lose enthusiasm. She realizes the couple can't afford the property.
"Hurry up, borrow money from your friend." His wife insists.
The man looks embarrassed.
"This villa is pretty good, with five bedrooms." Silvio reads information about the villa, " I will buy this villa."
"You? How could you?" The woman looks at Silvio with malice. "Even we can't afford it!"
The saleswoman doesn't take Silvio's word seriously. "Sir, please leave, we have work to do."
" I just want to buy a house. Why are you kicking me out?" Silvio replies angrily.
"Fine. You want to buy a house, right? The price is 1.5 million and you must pay upfront four hundred fifty thousand dollar now!" She says impatiently.
Silvio remains indifferent. He takes out the Top G Bank Divine Card from his pocket and shows it to her, "Can I pay by card?"
They look at Silvio in disbelief. Does this man really have that much of money when his clothes are so shabby, they think.
Silvio thinks for a moment, then changes his mind, "Well, let's look at a bigger house."
The customers are confused. They don't know his true identity, and can't comprehend what he is saying. They find him very arrogant.
One of them says, "I think this kid is showing off in front of us."
Another one joins in, " Everyone, don't fall for it. I am sure he is exaggerating just to look cool in front of us."
" If you're as rich as you pretend to be, why don't you buy the most expensive property here?" A middle aged man barks at Silvio while pointing at a mansion on the sales desk.
"Fine. I will buy it."
"Are you really going to buy that mansion? The saleswoman asks Silvio in disbelief. "It's the best property in Beverly Hills, built on an man made island in the lake, with its own courtyard, swimming pool, and most luxurious interior design. It has twenty rooms. And it is equipped with the most advanced technology."
She continues, "Our district is called Beverly Hills and that mansion has the same name, Beverly Island, which shows how grand that mansion is. Do you really want to buy it?"The saleswoman is shocked that she can't even mock the young man.
When the developer built the mansion and man made island, they didn't plan to sell it for at least ten years. The main purpose of the property was to demonstrate the super quality of the residential area. They felt if people saw the mansion there worth twenty five million dollars, they would be convinced that Beverly Hills is the most luxurious residential area in New York.
"Do I look like I am joking? How much are you selling?"
"Twenty five million dollars." The saleswoman still couldn't quite work Silvio out.
Silvio nods and calls Top G Bank manager, David Villa and asks him to transfer twenty five million dollars to Beverly Hills developer's account.
At first, everyone thought he was joking but when the money actually came in, no one could believe it.
The saleswomen surround Silvio. Their eyes are full of passion, each finding Silvio irresistibly attractive.
Silvio squeezes through the crowd and exits the sales office.
Silvio leaves Beverly Hills sales office and makes another decision. He is going to buy a car. He arrives at New York Automobile, which has the best performing cars in the world. He strolls around the car dealership and takes a fancy to a Bugatti. To him, it looks beautiful and gives off an aura of power. When he asks the salesperson, he is told the Bugatti can be custom-made for the customer. The salesperson was very suspicious of Silvio until one million dollars was transferred into the dealer's account.
The salesmen become ecstatic and surround him but he quickly exits.
He has an appointment later in the evening. He rides a taxi to the busiest shopping center in New York. He makes a call, "Sim, I am here."
He heads straight for a first floor boutique called Kenzo Boutique that sells elegant and exclusive brands of clothes. As soon as he enters the store, a man in an expensive suit welcomes him.
"Mr Gesell. I am delighted to see you."
He then calls the employees, " Everyone. Let me introduce you to the new owner of the shop, Mr Silvio Gesell. We must listen to everything he says."
For the past two days, he had been negotiating to acquire the ownership of this high-end shop. Last night, he finally concluded the deal.
