Chapter 18: Chapter 19: Ryūen Kakeru of Class C
Living in a class like this,
How to minimize personal losses and even gain from the situation—this should be one of the assessment points by the school.
Rey seemed to have understood the school's way of thinking.
At the same time, he continued observing his classmates.
They ate and drank as they pleased, played on their phones, slept during class, talked loudly—no restrictions whatsoever. They treated the school as their home, or rather, they treated themselves like the rulers of the school.
"If I don't do anything, my points will probably be deducted completely. Next month, I might get nothing at all."
If Rey were in charge of the school, he felt that not a single person here would receive points.
This was not speculation, but a fact.
Without points, even Rey's savings—more than 100,000 points—would only last for a few months.
Apart from class points, the next best source was the student council's points.
One hundred thousand points per month was enough to cover expenses, but the competition there was probably fiercer and more troublesome.
Sitting and contemplating his future plans,
"Should I announce everything now and study together with my classmates to improve?"
"Or should I think of another way?"
For the past three days, Rey had been thinking about this issue. Of course, it had also made him somewhat "quiet" in class.
Contrary to his initial intention of blending in, he had become the weird one in the class.
Now, apart from the occasional visits from the dangerous yet cute girl and the popular Hirata, no one paid him any attention. He had become one of the "weird" people in class.
Aside from this remarkable achievement, he had also gathered some valuable information over the past few days.
The most important piece of information was that not everyone in this school could be recommended to certain places.
Only Class A had that privilege. The so-called 100% graduation and employment rate was just a lie.
Other classes had to undergo interviews or exams and rely on their own abilities.
This was in line with what Rey had suspected. They would filter out the unsuitable ones, and the ones left would have a 100% success rate.
After understanding the school's system, Rey decided not to announce everything and gave up on trying to blend in.
He realized that even if he did announce everything, it would only bring bad results. After a few days, he would probably be ignored, and there might even be some who would hold a grudge. When people heard what they expected from him, they would find it hard to accept.
Rey would only be seen as someone "disrupting the harmony" of the class, which would lead to even more trouble.
Unless, like Ryūen Kakeru from Class C, he used force to solve the problem and dominate them, but that would be difficult. In this class, there would always be some people who were more trouble than useful.
As for violence—thinking about it was enough.
In a class like this, Rey felt that if he openly used violence, he would probably be expelled first.
The first person to oppose him would most likely be his "friend" Hirata, the popular one.
"One should focus on doing what they do best."
Class C
Although not fully dominant, the students in this class had now chosen to follow Ryūen Kakeru's words.
Even the tall and intimidating figure in their class, who was previously bothered by Ryūen, had eventually acknowledged his ability and chose to follow his commands.
"What's up?"
"I don't have time for you, Class D kid."
Ryūen Kakeru exuded the special aura of a delinquent.
Rey sat calmly at their desk in class, looking at Ryūen.
"First of all, congratulations to Ryūen Kakeru for becoming the leader of Class C. I came here to sell some information to you, to make a deal with Class C."
"Ryūen, I've already decided how to protect my legitimate profits."
Since he couldn't rely on his classmates, Rey decided to earn some points himself.
After all, he already knew that points were everything in this school.
"That can be discussed."
Though Ryūen still had a grim look on his face, he didn't seem as menacing as before.
"Before we make a deal, let me give you some information. I'll keep it short—do you know about the 100% graduation and employment rate the school talks about?"
Rey paused for a moment, thought for a second, and then continued.
"Everyone knows about that. Did you come here just to talk nonsense?" said Ryūen.
"Alright, I'll get straight to the point. Simply put, only students who are promoted to Class A each year are eligible for the 100% graduation and employment rate. We—whether in Class B, C, or D—don't have that privilege."
Rey said directly.
"I've known there's something off about this school." Ryūen said firmly, though his expression darkened a little.
He had known something was wrong from day one, which was why he immediately took control of the class. This was also partly due to help from the class teacher.
"Well, you might not know, but each class has a scoring system. Right now, Class A, B, C, and D all have the same system, but starting next month, everything will change. It all depends on how well we perform this month."
"And if we score higher than the other classes, we might even become Class A."
"This is the information I have."
Rey finished speaking.
To obtain this information, he didn't know how many teachers and third-year seniors he had disturbed.
He only mentioned the competition between classes without revealing the fact that Class D was the worst.
However, anyone who investigated would likely know the truth—Class D's behavior could not be hidden.
