Rey’s Journey in the Classroom of the Elite

Chapter 14: Chapter 15: Attending Class in A-Class

Year 1-D.

"Just from this morning's lessons, I bet they've already lost a good number of points," Rey thought as he observed his classmates' behavior.

Many were playing on their phones, gaming consoles, or talking loudly, disturbing others. The red-haired boy, who was arrogant yesterday, was now slumped over his desk, sleeping lazily as if he'd been up to something the previous night. He had no intention of paying attention to the lesson.

Although the teacher noticed, they made no effort to intervene. Listening or not was up to the students, and the teacher wouldn't interfere.

This was all within Rey's expectations. If strict rules were enforced, how could they dock class points? This leniency must be part of the school's system.

"At this rate, the points will probably be gone within a month," Rey thought as he sighed.

When lunchtime arrived, Rey had a clear view of his class: most of his classmates were hopeless.

As the rumors suggested, the students here were problematic—lazy, undisciplined, and overly confident. This wasn't an act; it was their true nature.

Even the academically gifted and disciplined ones had flaws: arrogance, isolation, or refusal to communicate with others.

Or perhaps, like Rey himself, they had a troubled past.

His thoughts briefly turned to Hirata, the overly cheerful student, and Kushida Kikyou, the sweet-looking girl. Both seemed academically capable, serious in class, and sociable.

However, precisely because of this, they were likely harboring deeper issues, just like him.

As most of the students left the classroom to eat lunch with their friends, Rey noticed Kushida approaching him, clearly intending to strike up a conversation.

Before she could say anything, Rey quickly left.

"..."

Kushida could only watch his retreating back, unsure of what to say.

"Is he shy? Doesn't seem like it."

"Or maybe he just doesn't like girls?"

For a moment, even Kushida started doubting her own ability to connect with others.

But as someone determined to befriend everyone, the greater the challenge, the more interested she became.

After having lunch with her friends, she returned to the classroom early, hoping to continue her efforts to approach Rey.

However, Rey didn't return to class for the entire afternoon.

Indeed, Rey decided to skip all the afternoon lessons.

Instead, he had chosen his destination: Year 1-A.

Having assessed the situation in Class D, Rey wouldn't miss the chance to learn about the other classes, especially with the freedom this school offered.

When the bell rang and the homeroom teacher for Class 1-A, Tomoya Mashima, entered the room, he was met with an unusual sight.

A group of students surrounded someone unfamiliar.

When Mashima entered, most of the students turned to him.

"Teacher, he's not from our class."

"There's a student from another class who won't leave."

The students of Class A obediently reported Rey's presence.

Mashima turned his gaze to the unfamiliar figure.

"Which class are you from? It's class time. You should head back to your own classroom," Mashima said firmly, though without much concern.

"Good afternoon, sir. I'm Rey from Class 1-D. May I stay here? I promise I won't disrupt your lesson," Rey introduced himself politely and amicably.

As for the stares from around him, he didn't care at all.

"This room is only for Class A students," Mashima replied bluntly, rejecting him without hesitation.

"Understood," Rey replied with a smile.

"Then I'll just stand by the door."

Ignoring Mashima's darkening expression, Rey moved to the doorway, leaning against the window to observe the classroom.

He looked very much like a voyeur.

Several students sitting near the windows appeared visibly uncomfortable.

"Hey, can you move further away?"

"Teacher, this guy is distracting us!"

Mashima heard the complaints but didn't take immediate action. Instead, he fixed his gaze on Rey, seemingly hoping to drive him away through sheer willpower.

However, Rey remained still, as if unaware of the unwelcome atmosphere.

"Teacher, let's just continue with the lesson. It's rare to have such an interesting visitor," said a soft voice from within the class.

The speaker was a pale-skinned girl with short silver hair and delicate features. Beside her desk was a walking aid, likely to assist her mobility.

"Alright, let's begin the lesson," Mashima decided, choosing to ignore Rey for the moment.

And so, an odd scene unfolded.

The students of Class A diligently attended their lesson while a student from another class stood outside, observing with great interest.

Initially, they thought Rey would leave after a short while, but he stayed there for the entire session, watching attentively.

When the bell rang and some Class A students prepared to confront him, Rey spoke up first.

"Nice to meet you all. I'll be leaving now. Let's hang out sometime."

With a casual wave, Rey left, leaving the students and teacher of Class 1-A in bewilderment.
