Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse

"Baby, what happened?" Lu Zhen asked even before he could get to Leng Pan.

The leader of the soldiers was surprised to hear that voice. He had heard it before when his superior went to meet with one of his wealthy friends and he was responsible for driving his car.

He hadn't expected his superior to be friends with most of the rich second generation heirs in the capital.

The owner of that voice happened to be the most outstanding one.

Turning around, he came face-to-face with Lu Zhen and felt as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.

He was aware that his superior had been looking for Lu Zhen since the apocalypse started but hasn't been able to determine his whereabouts because he didn't live in his villa on the mountain.

Now, hearing how Lu Zhen addressed that woman, he knew that he might have messed up.

Even though it was the apocalypse, the military hadn't changed much. Junior officers still had to follow the rules and orders of their leaders and superiors.

Now it seemed he had offended one of those.

"Well, I was taking care of this trash but it seems that some people don't agree with my methods." Leng Pan immediately complained to her husband.

Lu Zhen walked over to her and looked her over before making sure that she wasn't hurt. He then turned around and looked at the people lying in a pool of their own. Blood and looking like ghosts due to lack of blood in their bodies.

A couple of them had already died due to the excessive blood loss and the others were barely hanging on.

"Do you have a problem with my wife?" Lu Zhen asked the soldiers who were still standing there dumbfounded.

Lu Zhen had been a sensational business man in the capital and many people in the country had at least seen him on TV or in financial magazines.

Therefore, many people around them recognized him as soon as he got out of the truck.

Even though he had been working since that morning, chopping firewood and transporting them home, his clothes still looked immaculate.

Moreover, with the last few weeks having been mostly training in fighting or practicing superpowers, his body had become more toned and sexy.

He was practically the male God in every girl's dream. Therefore, at that moment, many girls were drooling for him and even men were jealous.

"Mr. Lu, sorry to disturb you but we just want to preserve the remaining human population and don't want it to reduce any further." The leader of the soldiers said.

"Did you find out if they were worth keeping alive?" Lu Zhen asked the same question Leng Pan had asked them earlier.

Indeed, they just came out guns blazing to protect those people but had no idea what kind of people they were protecting.

Lu Zhen, seeing his wife upset, didn't talk anymore to those people and simply threw out a few small fire needles on the ground.

Soon, everyone witnessed those people burning from the tips of their toes upwards slowly.

It was a slow, torturous death indeed. Everyone felt that this couple were the same kind of people. Both were very cruel if they needed to be.

Leng Pan didn't want her husband to carry a bad name because of her. Even though it was the apocalypse and it didn't matter much what others thought, what if the apocalypse came to an end and they needed to re-establish themselves?

Her husband would need his reputation to remain intact for that. Even if that wasn't the case, she still didn't want people to misunderstand him.

Thus, she explained the situation to everyone there.

"These people are a group of bandits who go around people off the supplies they had collected.

If that was their only sin, I wouldn't care about them, however, they also abduct young girls and turn them into sex slaves to be passed around among them as if they were some commodities.

They tried to steal my firewood from me earlier and also threatened me with my life if I didn't follow them back and become their new plaything.

When I said no, they started bragging about how they had tamed more little girls who had been unwilling like me and others even ended up being played by them to death.

Do you think such people are worth saving? Do they still count as humans?" Leng Pan asked angrily.

When the people around them heard what Leng Pan said, they were enraged. No wonder Leng Pan had been so angry and used such a cruel method to kill them.

They deserved what they had gotten. How could they torture young girls to death and brag about it as if it was a trophy they were flaunting?

The soldiers who had been trying to protect those people started to feel awkward. They hadn't expected to be protecting criminals who deserved a worse death.

"Sorry, we judged you without knowing the whole story. If these people have been doing something so despicable, then they deserve to die like this." The leader said apologetically.

"It's alright, just make sure the next time you meddle to protect someone you know exactly what was happening." Leng Pan replied while at the same time advising them.

"Yes, we will keep that in mind." The female soldier replied.

She admired Leng Pan very much because even in the face of so many people judging her and trying to convince her to let those criminals go, she had remained steadfast and didn't waver at all.

"Mr. Lu,can I have a word with you in private?" The leader asked Lu Zhen with a serious expression as if he had an important mission to complete.

"Sure. Wait here for me, Baby, I won't be going far." Lu Zhen said to his wife and kissed her on the cheek before following the leader a few steps away where they could have some privacy.
