Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse

After the agreement, everyone went to do their own business. Those sewing clothes or sleeping continued, and those working on technology like Lu Tao went back to work.

Lu Tao wanted to tune the device he was going to use to send the messages to the best ability possible. This way, there will be few glitches when the message is transmitted.

The next day during lunch, Lu Tao said that the device was ready. They had said that the message would be sent in the morning, but God's plans didn't always adhere to a man's plans.

There were a few bugs that needed fixing before the message could be sent successfully.

That afternoon, the family crafted a message together and decided to change the time they had agreed to transmit the message.

Now, it was supposed to be transmitted during dinner. Thus, they spent the afternoon setting up everything and Lu Tao even set up a timer for seven in the evening.

Assistant Yao also didn't go out that day and had been helping his mother with insulating their apartment.

He had collected the materials from a construction company during his mission the previous day. Since Lu Zhen had already hinted to him what might happen later, he decided to trust his boss and take precautions.

This way, he had gone to source for insulation and heating materials in a high-end company. His superpower had become one of the biggest advantages because he could move to many places in one day and scout for the best materials.

Once he found them, he drove a car to collect them and take them home.

He had already done this for two days and was now busy setting up heating in the apartment.

He was also planning on installing an anti-theft door that wouldn't be easy to break into.

In the living room of the Lu family, Li Yunjia, her sister-in-law, and assistant Yao's mother were busy making clothes to wear in an extreme winter with the warmest materials they could find from the pile they had collected.

They even made socks, hats, gloves, and masks. Moreover, what they made wasn't limited to clothes meant for wearing but also beddings such as duvets.

These were not the usual duvets but unique ones. Some were attached to electric blankets to make them softer and warmer.

Some were made from scratch with the best outer materials and enough wool to make someone feel like they were sleeping on the clouds if they used it.

What made these duvets more convenient was that the wool was very light and wouldn't become a burden if someone covered themselves with it.

This was the standard the family had set for surviving the winter.

Lu Zhen and Leng Pan were the most idle people in the family and weren't that busy. Thus, they spent their day either researching more about their superpowers or helping everyone else.

When it was dinner time that evening, Lu Zhen, Leng Pan, and Lu Tao went to Lu Tao's bedroom to send the carefully crafted message.

It didn't take more than a minute for everyone to hear several ringtones in the apartment including the television and a few mobile phones and tablets inside the apartment.

A message written in large fonts appeared on the screen warning people about the cold winter coming that could freeze people in a second if exposed outside.

Seeing the message on the TV, Leng Pan felt relieved.

The same message appeared in every device in homes across the globe. That's right, Lu Tao had not just targeted the people within the country but everyone on earth.

In this way, the number of those who took the message seriously and chose to heed the advice given to prepare would increase.

And just as they had expected, the majority of the people actually took the warning seriously. People still remembered how they had ignored the warning given less than an hour before the apocalypse and had suffered.

So, even if they didn't know whether the information was reliable, they still chose to take action, just in case it was real.

In the military base within the capital city, Commander Qui was informed about the message the moment it was discovered by a soldier.

Even though he was a soldier, he was a very suspicious man. So, he first asked one of his trusted aides to investigate the message using some of the unique technology they had.

Unfortunately, no matter what method they used, they couldn't spot the source of the message.

He eventually gave up and just instructed his subordinates to prepare fuel and other necessities for an extreme winter. He said it was better to be prepared than to regret in the future when something really happened but they could do nothing.

In an apartment in the city, the group of people with a mission to find someone and assist them also saw the message.

The cold-faced leader was not there for the time being, hence, the man named Sonny was in charge.

However, because the message was delivered while they were having dinner, the group saw the message together and someone shouted, "The Lu family."

This one shout wouldn't make sense to a person who knew nothing. However, following this shout, the other people also nodded their heads.

"They are indeed together. But I don't think they have awakened to a large extent. So, we have to be even more careful in the future now that we are certain of their awakening.

It would be bad if we lead enemies to them." Sonny advised and the others nodded in unison.

"We should start prepping too. Are we going to stay here during the period mentioned in the warning?" Another man asked.

"I think we should go back to the villa. It has a spacious basement that can be cleaned and divided into several rooms.

Moreover, the basement is naturally warmer than where we are.

We should find a way to install air purifiers, heating systems, and other things that may be needed to survive a long, cold winter." The usual talkative woman replied with a thoughtful look.
