Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse

"So what if I beat her? She deserves it." Li Yunjia was of course just venting her anger. She would not really beat Bai Yinyin, but it didn't hurt to scare her.

"I suggest you don't open the door. She's not alone." Lu Tao added when he saw his mother about to open the door herself.

"What do you mean? Also, can't you day everything all at once?" Li Yunjia was angered by Lu Tao so much that she almost passed out.

"You didn't give me the time to finish." Lu Tao grumbled, but he didn't dare to speak loudly.

"Who's with her?" Li Yunjia asked her son again.

"A man. Maybe she needed protection to get here and brought him with her." Lu Tao replied immediately.

He was indeed spot on. Bai Yinyin couldn't make the journey alone and found one of those simps who can be swayed by beauty and had awakened a superpower to act as her bodyguard.

Bai Yinyin had mastered the art of acting pitiful and weak and knew how to use it to her advantage.

That was the same method she had used to fool Leng Pan who treated her as a friend.

The Lu family wondered what she had come to do when the world was in chaos.

"Did she come to look for Panpan? I hope she hasn't. Luckily, Panpan saw her true colors before the apocalypse and cut ties with her. Otherwise, she would have been turned into a free laborer." Uncle Li commented.

Everyone knew about Leng Pan and Bai Yinyin's relationship because they were aware that it was her doing that Lu Zhen had suffered so much emotional torture.

"I'll go get a weapon. In case the person she brought becomes aggressive. Wait for me before opening the door, and don't let them in. If they want to talk, let them talk outside." Uncle Li said as he left the doorway and went back to his room.

He came back carrying a gun in one hand and a sword on the other.

He wanted to see if they dared to become aggressive in the face of such weapons even if the guy was a superpower user.

"You can open the door now." Uncle Li said after coming back.

Lu Tao, as if he had been waiting for this moment, opened the door just as the bell was starting to ring again.

Bai Yinyin stood outside the door looking somewhat exhausted even though she tried to hide it with makeup.

Who applies makeup in the apocalypse? People were dying of hunger and there was still someone who cared about their looks. How ironic. However, she had to care about her looks because she depended on them to survive.

If she looked ugly, no matter how much she acted pitiful no one would look her way. Thus, she had to combine her appearance and some seduction.

"Can we help you?" Lu Tao stood in front of the others inside the doorway and asked Bai Yinyin with a cold face.

Bai Yinyin had expected that the person who would open the door would be Lu Zhen. She had not expected to encounter a teenager and this threw her off for a second.

But as a qualified green tea, she recovered fast and greeted the people standing in front of her.

"Hello everyone. I was looking for Leng Pan. My name is Bai Yinyin and I am her best friend." Bai Yinyin composed herself and spoke.

"This is not Leng Pan's apartment, so, what are you doing knocking at our door?" Li Yunjia asked with a cold face matching her son's.

"Auntie, I am sorry to bother you. I just thought that Panpan wouldn't be home and decided to ask brother Lu if she knew where she was." Bai Yinyin immediately defended herself but her story was full of loopholes.

"You didn't think she was home yet you haven't knocked or tried to find her first. What are you looking for my son for?" Li Yunjia didn't give her any face and directly called her out for her behavior.

Anyone with a functioning brain could understand what she wanted to do.

"Also, my mother only gave birth to my brother and I, I don't remember having a sister. So, why are you calling my brother Brother Lu so intimately?

If his wife finds out, he might get into trouble, so please refrain from acknowledging relatives randomly." Lu Tao jumped in to add after his mother gave Bai Yinyin a dressing down.

"Wife?" Bai Yinyin asked with her voice raised an octave higher.

How was that possible? How could Lu Zhen be married? In his previous life,he had not married or had another woman by his side until his death.

He was only devoted to Leng Pan who never gave him a good look because of her friendship with her.

But now she was being told thT Lu Zhen had a wife? How was that even possible?

She had used Leng Pan many times to get information about Lu Zhen before and she was sure that about two weeks before the apocalypse, Lu Zhen was still single chasing after Leng Pan.

So, how did he get a wife? She was supposed to be his wife. She had schemed against Leng Pan for so long just to get close to Lu Zhen and maybe, claim the title of Mrs. Lu.

So, how did that covered title suddenly have an owner?

Lu Tao, as if wanting to rub salt to injury added.

"Of course, my brother has a wife. He and Leng Pan got married a week before the meteorite shower."

"That's impossible. Leng Pan would never marry Lu Zhen." Bai Yinyin shouted at Lu Tao.

It seemed that she couldn't keep the gentle facade anymore. This side of her shocked the man who had brought her there.

He was starting to understand that this woman had probably not come here to see her best friend as she claimed.
