Reverend Insanity: Eternal Demon's Path

Chapter 8: Chapter 2341 – There's only eternal benefits!

The golden smile faded from Giant Sun Immortal Venerable's face.

He turned and vanished into the void, his figure swallowed by ripples of luck path distortion. Star Constellation did not pursue. Her starlight clone remained stationed near the core, continuing to suppress the revival aura. Her true body floated high above Heavenly Court, her gaze distant and heavy.

From the outside, Heavenly Court's splendor was intact. But beneath its surface, the internal structure had already suffered great damage. Ancient vaults had been plundered, formations were being destroyed, and the terrain had become unrecognisable. The earlier explosion had exposed not only the weaknesses of Heavenly Court's current defenses, but also the uncertainty behind its future.

Star Constellation knew she was walking on a tightrope. She had to ensure her master's successful revival, stall the Demon Venerables (both Great Love and Giant Sun are Demon Venerables in her eyes), and maintain the appearance of control. Any slip would cause all of Heavenly Court's accumulated gains to collapse like a house of cards.

She frowned slightly.

"The Blood Path Vault..."

That vault had been sealed for over three million years. Its contents were once deemed a top secret that even Heavnely Court's leaders could only visit it once. But now, it was being eyed by Giant Sun Immortal Venerable.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind. She activated her investigative killer move — Star Scroll Observation. Threads of starlight stretched across the world, anchoring themselves to various important locations within Heavenly Court.

The result caused her expression to sink slightly.

"The seal has been tampered with. Just now..."

"If Fang Yuan hadn't destroyed so many defensive formations, Giant Sun would have never found the blood path vault."

She clenched her jade-like fingers.

"That thief."

...

Beneath the deepest layers of Heavenly Court. It was so deep underground that no light could be seen. However, one could still see the faint crimson red light from an ancient vault located at the centre of the underground space.

It was bound in layers of flesh-colored fog and crimson chains. These were not man-made constructs, but rather imprints left by a once-dormant will. A seal personally applied by Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable — reinforced by Star Constellation herself over the ages.

[I'm referring to Star Constellation's will that had assimilated into heaven's will; not the actual venerable.]

And yet, now, one of the seals trembled. It wasn't from brute force, but rather corrosion.

Luck path!

Deep within the vault, a blood-colored embryo floated in the air. It had no heart, no bones, no limbs — only veins and a mass of flesh. But if one looked closely, one could see countless tiny runes etched into its surface, forming complex formations that pulsed with blood path aura.

Boom!

A golden light pierced through the surrounding seals.

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable stepped in with a calm expression. His presence alone distorted the vault's space, causing luck path dao marks to weave into the walls and ceiling.

He swept his gaze across the vault. The faint smile on his face vanished entirely. His brows furrowed.

"The thing is still alive?"

Even someone like Giant Sun felt a faint sense of disgust and apprehension. But he quickly suppressed it. A luck path killer move activated silently, forming a golden whirlpool beneath his feet. His aura rose steadily, forming layers of suppression over the blood-colored embryo.

"If this is your foundation, Star Constellation, then I shall harvest it."

But just as his killer move was about to land, a black shadow appeared behind him.

Boom!

A hand pierced through the golden whirlpool.

It was Fang Yuan!

His expression was calm, but his killing intent surged silently. He had been waiting here long before Giant Sun arrived. Even the luck path distortion had not hidden the Venerable from his senses.

"You truly are impatient," Fang Yuan said mildly.

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable snorted coldly.

"You're the one to talk. You've been lying in ambush the whole time."

He waved his sleeve. The golden whirlpool transformed, forming a pillar that clashed with Fang Yuan's shadow clone.

But Fang Yuan's real body emerged elsewhere — near the embryo.

"I see. You didn't come here to destroy it," Fang Yuan said as he narrowed his eyes. "You want to refine it."

Giant Sun didn't deny it.

"This is not just blood path. It is hybridized — qi path, blood path, even some vestiges of time path. If successful, it may become a new foundation for me. Why destroy something that can be turned into strength?"

Fang Yuan's expression remained cold.

"Then I cannot let you succeed."

Without hesitation, Fang Yuan activated an immortal killer move.

Aperture Collapse, Reverse Flow Reversion, Soul Slash Merge!

Black waves exploded outwards. Dao marks twisted unnaturally, as if reality itself was reversing. A sharp light condensed around his fingertips, plunging directly toward the blood-colored embryo.

Giant Sun moved at once. His golden aura surged, forming layers upon layers of barrier — not to protect himself, but to preserve the embryo!

Boom!

The collision caused the entire vault to shudder violently.

Star Constellation arrived a breath later, her starlight body floating high above, her gaze sweeping across both figures. Her expression did not change, but her tone was icy:

"You two are indeed demons."

Neither of them responded.

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable stepped forward again.

"Star Constellation, what you sealed here should never have been kept. It is unstable. If we do not handle it, the damage could be irreversible."

Star Constellation's gaze remained unmoved.

"Is that your excuse for stealing my Master's secrets?"

Fang Yuan laughed coldly and said:

"Do not waste your breath. We are here because this is war. Righteous path? Demonic path? What meaning do such titles hold before eternal benefit?"

Star Constellation's robes fluttered as she raised her hand. Stars condensed around her fingers, forming an immortal formation.

"You cannot take it."

But Fang Yuan's body flickered — he was already withdrawing.

Star Constellation's eyes narrowed.

"You're not staying?"

Fang Yuan's voice echoed from the shadows.

"I've seen enough. This thing is not complete. Not yet. But now I know its position. The next time I return, it will be mine."

He vanished into thin air.

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable chuckled.

"He's cautious."

Star Constellation didn't answer. She raised her hand, and the vault began to seal itself once more.

But she could feel it.

The blood embryo's aura had changed. Something inside it was stirring, reacting to Fang Yuan's presence.

'One of Master's methods has already been found out and tampered with. I planned to drag this out but it seems like it isn't possible anymore.'

Star Constellation's thoughts grew heavier.

Outside, the wind howled across Heavenly Court. The void trembled faintly as the three Venerables scattered once more.

But none of them knew that in the deepest layer of the vault, a single eye opened slowly on the surface of the blood embryo.

It did not blink. It only watched.
