Return Of The Supreme Beast Tamer

Chapter 182: Apocalypse

[One Week Later.]

[Night Time - Cordelia.]

Leon stood atop a nondescript van, his gaze fixed on the two ominous figures below. "It's time," he declared, a chilling chuckle escaping his lips.

"Cordelia survived not just the sky stage beast but also the monster tide... All because of Christopher... But an attack from within, right before the Life Force Tide... Hahaha... It'll be fun to watch Cordelia burn." His eyes gleamed as he stared at the Valhalla family's estate, a beacon of prosperity just a few blocks away.

"Release them," he instructed, his voice low and firm.

The two guardians nodded in unison, grabbing the handles of the van's double doors and yanking them open.

Growling...

Snarling...

A symphony of guttural sounds erupted from within. The two figures swiftly stepped backward, leaping into the van and landing silently behind Leon. They watched as more than 30 Undead shambled out of the vehicle, their decaying forms moving with an unsettling purpose towards the unsuspecting houses before them.

"Let's go!" Leon commanded, rubbing his ring. A dark light flew from it, coalescing into the form of a massive, black dragon. He effortlessly leaped into the air, landing on the beast's head, while his two companions landed deftly on its broad back.

"Back to the base," he ordered, and the formidable creature ascended into the night sky, carrying its masters away from the impending chaos.

[Next Day.]

"Still in the mid-stage... When will I enter the high stage of the Ascendant level?" Christopher grumbled, opening his eyes, a hint of impatience in his voice.

"Master!!! You are finally awake! There is trouble!!" Lucas burst into the room.

Christopher turned to Lucas, a frown creasing his brow.

"What happened?!" he demanded, swiftly getting off the bed.

"I think you should look out the window," Lucas advised urgently.

Christopher walked towards the curtains, his curiosity piqued, and flung them open wide.

".....?!"

Christopher was utterly stunned.

"What the fuck?!" he exclaimed, his gaze fixed on the burning city before him, completely dumbfounded.

"How... How did this happen?!!" he yelled, whirling around to face Lucas.

"Master... We don't know how, but undead managed to enter the city... As of the moment, half the city is locked down," the tiger explained, her voice grim.

Christopher's eyes darted back to the devastated cityscape. "This?!! My family!!"

"Don't worry, Master... Lazarus, Grim, and Reaper already got them out; they're on the other side of the city," Lucas quickly reassured him, her words a calming balm.

"Good... Good... But, why didn't you wake me up?!" he asked, a touch of frustration in his tone.

"Well... Master was cultivating... Distracting you might result in a backlash," Lucas explained carefully.

Christopher nodded, then turned to Tiamat, who lay nonchalantly on the bed.

"And why didn't you try to stop this?" he asked, a hint of accusation in his voice.

"Why would I? And besides, the destruction already covered a large area before the Tamers' enterprises and Military got the news," she retorted, her tone dismissive.

"Undead... This is Darkness Spirit's doing... It seems it's time to teach that person a lesson," he muttered, a dangerous killing intent emanating from him.

"But first... I need to find my family... Take me to them."

He opened the window and flew into the air, Lucas quickly following behind him, a determined expression on her face.

____

[Temporary Shelter of the Survivors.]

"What is this?!!"

"I thought zombies only existed in movies!!"

"How did they enter the city!!?"

"Yes! I thought our city has the strongest defense!!"

"What should we do now?!!"

"Sob! Sob! I lost my mum in there!!"

"You should be happy you still have your father and brother... A guy I know lost all his family!!"

The temporary shelter buzzed with a cacophony of fear and despair. People were not coping well with the sudden influx of the undead and the mounting deaths in the city. They stood before the military commander, yelling and crying, their emotions raw and unrestrained.

"Calm down, everyone!!" Commander Zenith roared, her voice cutting through the din. Her armor was streaked with blood, a testament to her recent return from the ravaged city.

The people quieted down, their eyes fixed on her.

"I know you are all scared, you have the right to be... But the tamers and awakeners are out there fighting... We will make sure to wipe out these monsters!! We survived two catastrophes... We will also win this!!" she yelled, her voice filled with unwavering resolve.

"We won because of Master Christopher!! Where is he?!"

"Yes! Where is he?!" The people clamored, their hope clinging to his name.

"Silence!!" Philip yelled, stepping forward, his voice a thunderous command.

"Master Christopher isn't a commander or a member of the military! He has no obligation to protect you all, so don't pin this on him!! He helped us because this is his home, and I am sure he will help us again, but calling his name in any situation is irritating!!" His words struck a chord, causing the people to look at one another in surprise.

"Now!" he continued, his gaze sweeping across the crowd.

"Instead of pinning this on someone else! Why don't you sit down and try to absorb the life force tide that will start in any minute from now! Succeed, and you will become a Tamer or Awakener... If you think you are weak! Please step inside the protection shield! Now decide!!"

The citizens exchanged wary glances, and after a few tense seconds, most walked towards the shimmering protection shield. However, those who had lost loved ones, and a determined few others, sat down in meditative postures, closing their eyes, ready to embrace the challenge.

"I hope they succeed," Zenith whispered, her gaze soft.

"Not all... Some will die, at least, those who succeed will add to our strength..." Philip sighed, the weight of command heavy on his shoulders.

"The military already made a plan on ways to handle this, so the ordinary people won't suffer, but this undead!" He let out another weary sigh.

"It's okay! You are the military commander now, you must have hope," Zenith said, then raised her head to the sky...

...The sky tore open, revealing the void beyond, and then drops of shimmering light began to flow out from the cracks.

"It is starting," she announced, and then sat down, beginning her own absorption process. Philip quickly followed her action, settling into a meditative pose.

Christopher stood high above the city, observing the scene below, his gaze fixed on the people.

"Darkness Spirit attacked because he or she knew the life force tide will evolve the undead into something more," he muttered, a grim realization dawning on him.

"Yes... But I think you should start absorbing... It might help you enter the high stage," Tiamat suggested within his mind.

"Not yet."

Christopher flew deeper into the shelter, stopping before one of his family's mansions.

"Master Christopher!!" Ricky quickly stepped forward as Christopher landed on the ground, Lucas shrinking in size and perching on Christopher's shoulder.

"Where is everyone?!" he asked, walking purposefully towards the mansion.

"Well... The head and Madam are inside, but the young misses and second master are outside, fighting and rescuing survivors," Ricky answered, falling into step behind Christopher.

"Outside?!" Christopher stopped abruptly, raising his head to the dense life force in the air. "Start the absorption... You need to get stronger. I will locate them after seeing my parents," he said, increasing his pace, while Ricky stopped and nodded.

"I will," he affirmed.

___

[Inside the Valhalla Mansion.]

"Son!!" Amara rushed towards Christopher, embracing him tightly. "Why did you sleep separately! You should have stayed in the estate! I was so scared."

Christopher hugged her back, his eyes moving to Ethan, who sat calmly on the couch, watching the news.

"I am okay, Mum." He said, his gaze shifting to the news report, which displayed images of zombies shambling down the streets. He raised an eyebrow as many of them suddenly began collapsing to the ground.

'Shit! They are evolving because of the life force tide!' he hissed inwardly, then gently separated from the hug. "Okay, Mum, Dad... I will get going, my siblings are still out there!" He quickly turned around.

"Advika joined them," Amara interjected.

He paused, turning back to Amara. "Really?"

She nodded, her expression softening.

"Okay... I will get going!" Water rose from the ground and enveloped him. The next moment, he and Lucas vanished from the room, leaving a shimmering residue in their wake.

"He will be okay, right?" Amara asked, turning to her husband, a flicker of worry still in her eyes.

"That kid single-handedly took down a monster tide, what can zombies do?" Ethan muttered, then laughed out loud. "Who would have thought I would believe they exist." He added.

Amara glared at him playfully, then turned her worried gaze back to the news, hoping for a swift end to the chaos.

___

[In One of the Tallest Buildings.]

Advika, Adonis, Katherine, Leyla, and Chloe sat atop the city's tallest building, their eyes closed in deep concentration as they absorbed the potent life force energy saturating the air.

BAM!!

BAM!!!

BOOOOOOM!!!

SNARLING....!

Suddenly, ten Undead burst through the roof door, their eyes sweeping across the rooftop, immediately spotting the five individuals at the edge.

"GRAAAA!"

They let out guttural growls and lunged towards them, their decayed forms surprisingly swift.

WHOOSH!!!

A powerful beam of light shot down from the sky, instantly shattering the attacking undead into a gruesome spray of blood.

BAM!

Lazarus landed gracefully on the roof, the huge golden dragon surveying the area with keen eyes.

His gaze then shifted to a corner, watching as water appeared from thin air, and Christopher calmly walked out from it.

"Master!" Lazarus bowed respectfully, his massive form a testament to his power.

"Thank you, Buddy," Christopher said, walking towards Lazarus. Lucas flew into the air, growing in height to stand four feet tall.

"Okay... All of you come out!" Christopher commanded. Countless colorful lights flew out from Christopher's ring, taking the form of 40 formidable beasts. He moved his gaze to a majestic black horse with two horns.

"Master," the sky stage beast bowed, its reverence clear.

"All of you, go down and wipe out the zombies... Leave none alive, and don't let them evolve!" Christopher instructed, his voice firm and unwavering.

The 40 Beasts nodded in unison and soared into the air, those unable to fly leaping fearlessly down the buildings, eager to engage the enemy.

"500 of you, come out," Christopher ordered.

WHOOSH!!!

Lazarus watched as clones of Christopher appeared around him, standing perfectly still, ready for his command.

"I lost 500 clones, remaining you guys..." He exhaled, a fleeting memory of a past battle crossing his mind. "Anyway... Go and assist the others... Save anyone you can find and take them to the shelter..." he said, his voice resolute.

The clones nodded, then flew into the air, scattering across the city, their mission clear.

"Go... Both of you, I will stay with them."

Lazarus and Lucas nodded, spread their mighty wings, and soared into the sky, ready to join the fray and protect Cordelia.
