Chapter 161: One Shot Killing

Feeling that stamina recovery was still very slow, in order to make it faster, El immediately took out the Stamina Restorer Potion from inside his storage ring.

Without hesitation, El uncorked the glass bottle containing the blue liquid and downed it. Within seconds, his drained stamina was fully restored.

Fully re-energized, El was ready to move forward to face Aldebaran, who was still fighting a fierce battle with Gado Nagamasa. However, having just taken a step, a faint scent caught his attention.

El immediately looked up towards the sky, seeing dozens of spears of light hurtling at high speed, heading towards the soldiers retreating from the battlefield.

El's eyes stared intently at the sky, searching for the source of the attack. "It came from 11 o'clock," El frowned. "That damn thing is still intent on killing people, even though they've retreated?"

The look in his eyes turned cold, accompanied by the deadly air slowly leaking from his body. "I've already decided. I will finish that thing off first."

Before the spears of light fell, El took advantage of his slowed vision to carefully analyze the situation.

He scanned the battlefield filled with blood, pieces of flesh, overturned armored vehicles and the corpses of both humans and Gastrea scattered like dried leaves.

Amongst the chaos, El found a black spear from Varanium, stuck in the ground, just like it had no owner.

Wasting no time, El darted towards the spear, pulling it out in one fell swoop. Spear in hand, El leapt high, cutting through the air with incredible speed.

Once at a sufficient height, El activated Deva Path: Shinra Tensei, creating a repulsive force that made his body float for a moment, giving him time to plan his next attack.

From his position in the air, El stared at the source of the spears of light with unwavering determination. "I will not let this continue."

El took a deep breath, a strange swishing sound coming from the corner of his lips, like burning embers.

After feeling like he had gathered enough air, she assumed a spear-throwing stance. "Yōkatotsu + Shinra Tensei," he said coldly, then threw the spear with incredible power and speed.

Swoosh!

As soon as the spear flew out of his hand, a sonic boom rang out loudly, echoing across the battlefield. The boom was caused by the pressure wave created when the spear penetrated the wall of sound.

The spear shot out, spinning rapidly through the air, creating the illusion of a raging fire dragon serpent, as if chasing its target in the distance.

This feat was only possible thanks to El's STR attribute which had reached 128 points, the result of a combination of his Titles, Skills, and Items.

The use of Shinra Tensei also further increases the attack power and speed of the spear, maximizing its throw.

However, the main driver of this achievement was the activation of the Demon Slayer Mark, which amplified all of El's attributes significantly, surpassing the limits of what any mechanical human or Cursed Child in this world could do, even if only for a moment.

The spear glided mercilessly, as if bringing certain destruction to its target.

Deep in the forest, a monstrous Gastrea appeared. It had a long neck that swayed gently, as well as a seahorse-like head with a curved snout.

The creature's eyes were a fiery red that exuded an aura of menace, and its massive body seemed odd.

The creature's body was large, but it looked unbalanced. Its legs were small and spindly, emphasizing the impression of a creature that should be incapable of movement, let alone hunting.

However, its form was deceptive, hiding a deadly power that could cause deadly terror on the battlefield.

Most striking was its transparent body, revealing the mercury-like silver liquid flowing inside.

The blue-silver fluid seems alive, pulsing like blood, emitting a faint glow that combines beauty and horror in one scene.

Every movement of the liquid gives the impression that this creature is not just a living organism, but also a biological weapon designed for destruction.

The creature is Pleiades, a Stage 4 Gastrea affiliated with Aldebaran, the ringleader of the destruction of many soldiers and civilian officers.

The mercury it fires has become a curse to anyone who gets in its path, creating a slow and painful death.

Currently, Pleiades is in the middle of a heavily damaged forest area. The surrounding trees have fallen and blackened, dead from mercury poisoning, leaving a desolate and eerie landscape, like a death arena that it has completely dominated.

In addition, the creature was surrounded by a swarm of Gastrea Stage 2 and below of various types.

There were mutated spiders, mutated dogs, and giant insects, each seemingly acting as its own personal bodyguard.

They not only guarded the Pleiades from external threats, but were also tasked with providing food for the giant creature to survive.

This makes sense, given its highly unusual proportions and seemingly impossible to hunt or forage on its own.

With their solid strength as a protective unit, this Gastrea swarm created a terrifying ring of defense around the Pleiades, ensuring that the Stage 4 creature could survive.

Boom!

Suddenly, without warning, a loud sonic boom resounded like a clap of thunder, approaching at an incredible speed, exceeding the speed limit of sound.

In seemingly slow motion, a black spear that El had thrown earlier appeared, streaking out with destructive force.

Craaat!

The spear pierced through the Pleiades' body, creating a large hole that instantly shattered its body tissue, before digging hard into the ground at the creature's side, leaving a large crater around it.

Pleiades let out a deafening scream of pain. "Kraaa!" The sound was like a combination of orca whale and dolphin cries, echoing throughout the forest in a heartbreaking, yet frightening tone.

The Gastrea of various models surrounding it instantly panicked, scattering in all directions, as if searching for the whereabouts of the attacker, but finding nothing.

In the distance, hovering above the battlefield with Deva Path, El smiled faintly. "I've destroyed one intruder," he said coldly, as if he could freeze the ocean.

However, just as Pleiades' death scream faded, another voice echoed. This time, it was Aldebaran's scream, heavy and full of rage.

It sounded like the song of a dorsal whale filled with deep sorrow and rage, echoing across the battlefield, signaling that Pleiades had been killed.

Without wasting time, El immediately deactivated Deva Path: Shinra Tensei, which he used to float in the air.

El understood that if he used this technique too often, especially three times in a row after a 10-second cooldown pause, his body would not be able to withstand its exhausting negative effects later.

Although at this time El was still under the enhancing influence of the Demon Slayer Mark.

Then, El turned his gaze to Aldebaran in the distance. Due to the colossal size of Aldebaran's body, his form remained clearly visible from where El stood.

It was a gigantic creature that looked extremely terrifying. The creature's dark body, about 35 meters tall, was covered in a layer of hard shell resembling a turtle.

Aldebaran's legs were hippo-like with frog-like soles, and its long tail resembled that of a lizard.

Aldebaran's head and neck resembled those of a giraffe, but with a mutated mouth capable of opening all the way down its neck to its body, revealing fearsome blunt teeth.

Aldebaran's appearance combines elements of various 'predators' and 'prey' in a form that seems impossible, yet is extremely deadly and terrifying.

After letting out a long scream, a sound like the song of a dorsal whale that echoes throughout the area, Aldebaran turns around and begins to retreat from the battlefield.

The scream was not only an expression of her emotions, but also a way to give orders to other Gastrea.

As if possessed by an innate instinct, many Gastrea scattered in the forest and battlefield immediately moved towards Aldebaran. They surrounded him and followed his orders, retreating from the battlefield in an orderly formation.

El frowned with a faint smile, his gaze full of determination. "Clever creature... Unfortunately, I won't let you get away," he said coldly, his tone as sharp as a sword blade.
