Relinquish (Story Of Sixteen)

After a deep thought, Seetha finally uttered a word by asking "When is the match?"

Tarok replied with an excitement "This week Saturday at 7.00 pm in the Spencer stadium"

Hearing this her friends teased again but this time they talked loudly. So, Tarok was clearly able to hear it.

One of her friends said "She only asked the date"

The other friend continued "But you are giving both address and time."

When another friend opened her mouth to tease, Seetha closed her mouth with her hand and cut the call after hurriedly saying "Ok, I will definitely be there on time, bye."

This made Tarok chuckle in happiness.

One of her friends: So, Seetha, are you excited?

Seetha: Why should I?

Other friend: Why are you still acting like you don't have any feelings for him?

Seetha: See, I really don't have any feelings for him except friendship. The reason I am going for the match is because of his friendship. He helped me in Ram issue. How can I avoid such a great friend's request?

Another friend in a teasing tone: OH, great friend

Seetha shook her head in disappointment and she said "No matter what, you girls will never stop teasing me."

Their teasing keeps on increasing throughout the break until Seetha shouted "Maths sir."

One friend who was standing opposite to Seetha asked anxiously: Did he saw us?

That same friend also instructed everyone to turn and hide in the opposite side. But, sadly no one knows that there was no maths sir except Seetha. Seetha chuckled a bit and acted for some time.

Then finally she said "I think the maths sir went away."

Hearing that, her friends who were hiding finally came out and sighed as a relief. The friend who instructed everyone to hide spoke with relief "Thank God, He didn't see us."

The other friend said "I can't imagine what would have happened if he saw us?"

One more friend answered her question by saying "Yeah, He will definitely give punishment for not attending his classes."

Seetha who was trying to control her laughter finally said with heavy laughter: "Hahaha…you silly girls"

All of her friends were now confused about Seetha's laughter.

Seetha continued with laughter "The maths sir didn't come. Hahaha…I just lied to you…to stop your stupid jokes.…hahaha."

Her friends corously said "You, how could you?" with that they started chasing Seetha who was running away from them.

At Balu's office, Mr.Johnathan finally arrived. Everyone greeted him well with flower bouquets and they all greeted him respectfully. He finally reached the meeting room with a warm smile on his face as he was already pleased by the arrangements made for him.

There were only important officials in the meeting room. Ram was not there as he was new joint as a normal employee. He always determined to earn a higher position in his career through hard work not by being Balu's reference. Even Balu wanted to see him achieving his dreams all by himself so that he could see his best friend's proud face for the rest of his life.

Coming back to the meeting room, everything was going smoothly. Balu was explaining all the slides crystal clearly. Mr.Johnathan asked questions in between regarding the project they are planning to have. Some questions were directly answered by Balu. Some were answered by other respectable staffs in that room.

Outside the meeting room, everyone was tensioned because no one knows what was happening inside. As you can see, it was such an important meeting for everyone. If this project was signed successfully, then their company will go to next level. The workers may also get incremented. But for Balu and Ram, it's entirely different. It was their own victory. As every other best friend, Ram also feels his friend's achievement as his own victory. The three hours passed anxiously for everyone.

Finally, Mr.Johnathan came out of the meeting room. When he was going to announce something, his P.A ran towards him handling a phone after saying it was an important call. Seeing this, Balu immediately walked near him and said humbly "Please carry on sir. I will take care from here." Hearing that, Mr.Johnathan nodded his head as okay and left with his P.A.

After Mr.Johnathan's sent off, Balu walked inside with a sad face. Everyone was worried seeing him like that and started pestering him to say what had happened. Balu didn't answer but remained silent for a while. Seeing this, Ram walked near him, tapped his shoulder by asking "What happened?". Balu looked at Ram. Ram saw some tears formed in his eyes. Ram got worried and hugged him immediately.

Ram said in a worried tone: "It's okay, if he didn't approve this project, we will find another investor for collaboration. Was he the only one…"

Before Ram completing his sentence, Balu interrupted him by saying "He agreed for the collaboration."

Ram immediately released the hug and looked Balu with a shock. Balu was now looking back at him with happy tears on his face. Ram was also started crying and smiling at the same time as he was so happy for his best friend. All the workers started hugging and shaking hands with each other as they were also happy.

Balu thanked them with tearful eyes as he said "Thank you all for the hard work.Without you guys, I wouldn't be able to do it, I am also sorry that I gave more workloads regarding this project."

The staffs said in a consoling tone: "Don't be sorry sir, because of that we are here now"

Balu continued "Thanks for understanding and soon we will discuss about the salary increments."

He paused for a second and continued again "I want to do something more than that. I don't think increasing salary alone will be a reward for our hard work."

The Staffs asked with confusion: What else sir?

Balu answered with a smile: What about a success party?

Hearing this everyone got excited and happy. They congratulated him. Some praised him. Balu was also praising them back. They had some nice conversation with each other and after sometime, they got dispersed back to their work.

Balu was also returning back to his cabin with Ram. They both entered his cabin. They locked the cabin and called their friends on conference call to share this happy news. They were all shouting in excitement with happiness piercing through their eyes. That's why they locked the door because they always do this whenever they felt so happy. They were also jumping like small children. This made them remember their orphanage days. They had some chit chat. Balu told about the party. They finally decided to have both Ram's and Balu's party at the same place. With that they hung up the call.

It was evening time; Seetha was opening her house door. Suddenly, she saw someone wearing a terrible ghost mask and shouting "baaaaaaaaaaaaaa". She closed her eyes and screamed in fear. Seeing this, Ram took the mask off from his face and started laughing at her. Hearing his laughter, she opened her eyes and realized the truth. She entered in and grabbed the mask from his hand. Now, with that she started beating him for making her afraid.

Seetha said while beating him: Why are you doing this?

Ram said while running away from her with laughter: Hahaha…you really got afraid.

Seetha: you…don't you dare to run?

Ram: Haha…catch me if you can.

They were laughing and running inside the hall. After sometime, they got tired and sat on the couch with an exhausted face. Seetha grabbed this opportunity and tried to beat him with the mask again. Ram noticed that and held her wrist before getting hit. They both talked in a tired tone with holding each other's wrist.

Ram: Stop it already.

Seetha: Where did you bought this mask from?

Ram: I bought this when I was buying kaju pista roll for you

Seetha asked shockingly: what?

Ram: Yes, I noticed your father keeps on sending that sweet's parcel every weekend through courier. So, I guessed it was your favourite.

Seetha happily said by pinching his cheeks: Ram, you are the best…

Ram smiled at her actions whereas Seetha realized something and asked: But, why suddenly sweet?

Ram said with smile on his face: Because there is the good news

Seetha: what is it?

Ram explained everything that happened in the company today. He also invited her to the party.

Seetha congratulated them and asked the details of the party.

Ram: it's on this Saturday at 7.00 pm. We planned to have these parties at Balu's house itself. Because after all the employees go, we will have the next party which is going to be given by me. And at that party, only our friends will be present.

Seetha got shocked as it was the same date and time of Tarok's basketball match.
