Chapter 2: A Kingdom in Chaos
“Die!! You beast scam.” A human soldier says charging at a were-tiger demi-human female holding a spear as his weapon.
Her belly shows to be full of life inside, yet she is not worried for she holds the same weapon and is a match better master at using it. Once the human soldier was at the right range the female-tiger took the moment to thrust her spear forward.
Being much better at speed in this combat, she made it possible to have the sharp head of the spear impaled the man's mouth ending up at the other side covered in his blood.
It was soon pulled out as she watched the human soldier's body fall first onto the knees and then face flat to the ground.
Yet it wasn’t over as another showed himself charging at her with a sword and shield taking place in both hands. Still, this were-tiger female held onto the fighting spirit doing a fast spin around with her body as those hands helped to swing the body of the spear until the head cut the throat of this human with the sword and shield.
Blood spires forth out the open neck as another has come to be slain by her head without having a chance at attacking first.
The female were-tiger sees the opening of taking a moment of rest since battling this longer feeling the heavy weight of the belly when it is difficult moving in such a state. Taking a mental challenge on her Even as of right now where the home she was born in and lived most of her life is under attack right by a large human army that has shown up outside.
Timing of the worst possible moment when the army of the kingdom of Waxulia was sent away to go into war with another human army who declared it in the first place.
Her name is Beia, a skill-wielding spear warrior who is the lover of Gonten being the father of their first child together.
“Do not worry child, no harm is to come to you as your mother, I will do anything to make sure of it no matter what.” The were-tiger female thought placing a hand on the side of this pregnant stomach.
Focusing on the belly of the unborn child yet to come into the world, she made the mistake of taking too long to do so when an arrow was fired from a distance to hit the right shoulder.
Luckily it was a clean shot when the arrowhead was sticking out at the other side Beia took the hit while still standing, but it didn’t last long when the next arrow was already fired hitting lower and stabbing deep into the left leg thigh making it this time to fall to the knee for the moment.
She sees 3 more human soldiers finding the one in the middle to be the shooter, who at the time was getting started by another arrow into the crossbow.
So, Beia had to act fast before the third shot fired and hit a more life-threatening part of her body that could have killed her and the baby. Grabbing the arrow in her thigh, Beia took on the pain that came when it was pulled out in a manner of one not caring about doing it carefully.
Then push forward going for the human with the crossbow as the arrow was shot speeding fast for her with that great eyesight Beia made sure that the spear in her hand took care of it, hitting it away along the way.
Two of the other human soldiers standing side by side with the one with the crossbow took action going forward to meet her halfway.
One was another shield and sword welder the other had just a smaller Mace in the right hand.
Beia shows how powerful of a foe she was when already taking care of the two which quickens one kill move. When the human soldier with the shield and sword comes to be slashed in the deepest strike, she can give to make sure it was good enough.
Then came the thrust of the spear entering inside the human with the Mace lifting him for a few seconds until throwing him against a wall at the side.
Killing those two does take more energy out of Beia than she thought of using it because of that her body needed another rest. Yet she was close to taking care of the human with the crossbow. He shows a smile noticing this weakness has made it easy for him to just quickly fire and kill this were-tiger life.
Unexpectedly an arrow was fired at him from a higher angle when the head of that arrow went into the forehead killing him right on the spot as the body hit the ground the next second.
Who did this show up right in front of Beia, seeing to be a fellow were-tiger female one himself knows very well?
“Eusia! My sister, I thank you for saving me and your nephew's life.” Beia says with joy in her voice.
The two meet with each other to give a hug taking a moment of peace among the chaos going on which soon comes to an end.
“Always sis, you know that I always will and the little one in your belly, but you're taking great care with both your lives out here. If something were to happen, I know Gonten will feel a great deal of sadness for the loss.” Eusia says reminding her sister who will miss her the most if dead.
“I know Eusia, but I could not help in needing to help our kingdom by fighting back these invaders and saving as many lives along the way.”
“Well, you can’t help in this condition yourself if a baby is looking ready to be born at any moment.”
Beia signs what her sister said as she was right it is challenging to fight when pregnant and not well to do so further on like this.
“Please tell me what the situation in our home is and how far things have progressed,” Beia asked earnestly.
“Not good is because of the surprise of this second large army appearing right as half of the might of this kingdom went off to war. Our home may not last for much longer given how fast this human army number bursts in.”
“Damn it that is just the thing, I was afraid you were going to tell me that, I can’t believe this to be the end for us after everything we have worked to build.”
“I know sis, but that is not the concern for us to worry about right now…” Eusia stops talking when all of a sudden hearing her sister scream out of nowhere.
She sees that Beia is in great pain, but it wasn’t the two arrow wounds not witnessing one hand at the side of the big belly. Eusia fears the worst by this meaning as it wasn’t clear enough when a wet liquid started to spill out from between her sister's legs.
“No, you can’t be serious about this. It is the baby choosing now to be born during this chaos.”
