Reincarnation: Road to rebuild a lost home

Chapter 13: knowing one's blood is beast and man

Gonten just stared at Gabriel with a shocked expression that soon went away when he started to laugh which the man didn’t find to be laughing along with him. He ended it short when taking note that he didn’t understand that the man was all serious looking.

“Gabriel, you are not laughing with me. Please tell me what you have said to be a joke.” he had to ask to be sure because such a calm cannot be overlooked.

“Boy, have you ever heard me make a joke and be serious at the same time here?”

“Um… no, were you not the type of person to make jokes mostly or all the time serious no matter what.”

Gabriel didn’t say a word for the moment, walking to a random tree to place his back against it with arms crossed and closing his eyes for a second till reopening them again.

“What we are about to talk about isn’t one to joke about and I will do my utmost best to explain in most parts what I learned during my younger days. Anyone else with much knowledge will do a better job, but for now, I will have to do it.” Gabriel says, making sure that his tone is doing the job, being clear that the matter to be talked about is to be all series at this point.

Gonten said nothing, instead sitting down cross-legged to listen and ask any question, as in this subject of talking about him sharing the same blood with the great tiger who called a God among their people in many other titles as well.

“Right well, I am not one good with our people's history as said, so what I do know is that our ancestors were beasts. Complete and fully tigers that realm freely on the wild lands doing as they are by the nature the tigers acted upon when born with. Besides the tiger's other types of beasts were like that as well. Anyway, when the Ancestors were free living their ways, they had enemies from other beasts to men living in the same world as them, and they would at times hurt our kin.” Gabriel says, "Gonten's expression soon shows a dislike when hearing about that last part.”

“So that would mean humans were our mortal enemies even back then.”

“Not exactly. It was the time when humans had to follow their code of nature on living, hunting, and breeding to continue to the next generation as our people did. Yet our Ancestors had a difficult time staying alive in a harsher period nearly at their end, given how the population was getting smaller. It was then all mighty tiger showed up to deliver them help, protection, and wisdom, which greatly helped that a change had come upon them.”

What Gabriel is talking about is the change that, somehow, a few tigers began walking upright with two legs only. It was something in the first village some of the were-tigers would talk about such events of the past Gonten would hear when younger.

“The evaluation changed where our Ancestors started to walk on two no longer four.” Gabriel was proud of Gonten for knowing that small fact.

“That's right, but not all of them; I won’t go into all the details there; leave that for someone else to do all that boring talking. The part I want to tell you is at the time, they were doing well with their gifts, showing strength to grow back their number and take lands. One day, while a group of newborn humanoid tigers went on a hunt, a small human girl, fearful for her life, ran into the group seeking help from them when her people were being attacked by another of their kind. That same little girl was your great-grandmother at that time.”

Gonten's shocked look was seen on his face, and the next moment, he was fast on his feet to hit the tree behind Gabriel. The man moves him out of the young tiger's way and sees the might of his rage destroy the poor tree when Gonten's first goes through its body, making it in two where the upper half falls to the left side.

“That was not his normal strength even if he attacked me in anger; no, it has to be the blood of one descended from the tiger God. Gonten is connecting with it just needs to keep on growing and he will be just like them one day.” Gabriel thought about it while being proud of the future change the young will go through.

“THAT IS ENOUGH NO MORE!” Gonten Yells this to the man standing at the side close to him, not to worry about another attack coming at him again.

“I know what I just said may not be something you would accept on hearing, but this must be learned for your future.”

“That can’t be true!”

“There is no lie to our history; it is true, we kept this history to be a time of event which could not be forgotten, especially for the ones that share the blood of the one we look upon with great worship and the gifts our god has passed to us.”

Gonten looks at Gabriel, looking him in the eyes, and there is nothing to make this to be a lie. No matter how hard it is to find it to be a lie, it is impossible, and he has no choice then to keep on listening, doing his best to understand the history of the past of the people that, in the present, will help him be able to lead his people.

“I don’t understand; I only thought we changed to look like this to have the ears, eyes, and tail of a tiger, and the rest just happened to look a bit human for no reason,” Gonten says to the man.

“Anyone in our kind would think that, but in truth, we came to be by the shared bonding between beast and men, which created the offspring that carries the blood of the two and the features of the tew as well. Your great-grandfather was the one to be the first with your great-grandmother when she was taken in to live among their tribe after her own home was no more.”

“She was taken in after no longer having a home, I doubt it would have been an easy life with our people.”

“I share that same thought, there's no way it was going to be easy for a single human to live among the tigers. Who saw nothing more of humans than enemies that hunted their kind, but if not for the kindness and protection from your great-grandfather, she probably wouldn’t stay for long or get killed off. Yet your great-grandmother lived and grew up to find a place among our people back then learning from their way and touching them hers even as well with love to the one person she came to have such feelings for your great-grandfather once older.”

Gonten closes his eyes taking in more of this history information on two important figures that play a role in opening a doorway for the beast and men in finding love with one another.

“Gabriel, do you happen to know their names? I would love to know them being my great-grandparents,” Gonten asked since these were the two whose blood flowed through him from the line going way back in those times.

“Great-grandfather named Aeareic and great-grandmother Veronica.”

“Aeareic and Veronica became the first to fall in love with each other and began to open a future in which humans and breasts could find peace in life together.”

“Yeah, back then because those two started a time where humans were allowed to share a home with our people. Of course, I have heard it wasn’t easy for such individuals to get along as they did, but time was what it took for the seeds of peace to grow.”

Gonten, at that moment, sighs and looks up into the sky, taking a deep breath, having complex feelings, and fighting with one another. It is going to take time for him to sort them out, finding just the right one for the right time and moment in the future.

“I don’t know how much this knowledge is helping me; you understand what role I must take on and play when the day comes that we are at war with the humans, once that of our numbers and strength have regained itself for a day like that,” Gonten says.

“I know and sadly can’t be the one telling you how to act on this being a journey you must walk alone to choose from how you are to become is by your own heart, boy. Anyway, what you should focus more on is being part of the line to our tiger God, and you alone will go through a change.”

“What do you mean by that, Gabriel.’

“Your size will change, growing to be like that of a tall giant, your strength will double ten times that of a normal, endurances to take on damages your enemy throws against your body and vigor as well in keeping with the fight. Pretty much what I know and saw in our home, I heard there to be much more, but it was a family secret that I wasn’t allowed to know.”

Hearing this was something Gonten could not by expression of one to be greatly impressed by this special blood in his vines.

“Then would it not mean the same for my brothers.” Gonten knew back when he was not his father's first child, he seeded two others who came first before him, and it was his mother that told this to him.

“Yes, your two other brothers, if they are alive, then both will grow that way too, but…. We talk about this another time; you now know what needs to be told from me. There is much more of the history with our kin to be talked about, but best for another time.”

“All right, I guess it's good as ever to stop now and don't want to make the others wait a long time. Thank you, Gabriel, for this. I have learned the great importance of my people's history, and much to think over down the road myself is to walk.”

Gabriel said nothing back, having just a simple smile on his face. There was a sense at that moment of being something far more important Gonten should know, but he didn't feel up for it.

Learning what he knows now is enough to still take in for now. Gonten is trying to deal with the matter of being descended to their God and that of a human.

The two then take leave, heading back the same way to where the other three are waiting. Both haven't taken note that one of those three was spying and listening to their conversations, knowing as much as they have talked about this, were-tiger has to make a decision on their own about this information.
