Chapter 639: Origin Cleric’s Skills
While Xu Feng felt bitter and disappointed by the lackluster first phase of the Origin Trial, he knew there was nothing else he could do.
After all, he couldn't possibly complain to the system that he wanted to resume the trial just because of his feelings.
Thus, he composed himself rather quickly and began inspecting his new status screen.

Thanks to the abundant amount of experience points, he leveled up, but that wasn't the main gain. It was the Hidden Class listed under his regular class, followed by an additional new skills tree.
From the start, Xu Feng barely upgraded his skills, keeping it to an extreme minimum. It was a strategy to hoard the skill tree points until he advanced to a Hidden Class.
Now, thanks to his hoarding behavior, those skill tree points were automatically converted to Origin Points, giving him a whopping total of 20 Origin Points with the bonus from the system included.
Within the Origin Cleric Skill tree, there were three build paths: Offensive, Support, and Hybrid.
When faced with such build paths, it was mostly suggested that players stick to either offensive or support. After all, hybrid simply meant a combination of both, but the cons meant that you would never be superior in offensive or support.
However, that was only the case for those with regular Hidden Class. Those with a superior Hidden Class such as Carmen's Voidmancer could easily go hybrid without facing any trouble.
And the same goes for his Origin Cleric, which was considered the best of the best.
"These 20 Origin Points are definitely going to be handy." Xu Feng smirked, his eyes gazing at the Hybrid Build Path.
Within the Hybrid Build Path, there were 16 skills available for Tier 1.
Each of them costs 3 Origin Points to be unlocked. So if it weren't for the additional bonus of 5 Origin Points, then Xu Feng would have only been able to unlock 5 in contrast to 6 skills.
Origin Points were also different from skill tree points which could be obtained every level up.
Instead, Origin Points could only be gained after every 2 levels. To summarize, the next Origin Point gain would be level 36 for Xu Feng, which meant he could unlock another skill at that time.
After all, 20 divided by 3 was 6.6667, just a bit off from the 7 mark.
"Let's see the branches in the hybrid build path." Xu Feng murmured, taking his sweet time to inspect the skill branches. In total, there were four branches in each of the different build paths.
Hybrid Build Path
—
Branch 1: Reversal Mastery (Core Reversal Abilities)
Anathema's Touch (2 Possible Effects)
Effect 1– Converts healing done to a person into pure damage, scaling with the caster's magic power.
Effect 2– Healing's effect tripled and greatly boosted the person's overall attributes by 5%.
Invert Vitality: Reverses all healing received by the target within the last 5 seconds into damage, amplified by a percentage of the caster's Origin stat.
Parasite Bloom (2 Possible Effects)
Effect 1– Plants a malignant parasitic energy within a target. If healed, the bloom absorbs the healing and explodes, dealing AoE damage based on the amount absorbed.
Effect 2– Plants a benign parasitic energy within a target. If healed, the bloom amplified the target's damage and defenses, creating a barrier that could withstand approximately 10,000 damage. (Barrier durability increased based on the caster's attributes)
Soul Rend Ward – Places a ward in an area. Any entity healed within its radius takes bonus damage from the caster for the next 10 seconds. The damage dealt would then be converted to the caster's health point. Any excessive amount would automatically turn into a buff for the caster.
—
Branch 2: Withering Surge (Hybrid Damage and Utility)
Decay Infusion – Imbues an enemy with decaying energy that reduces healing received by 50% while dealing damage over time.
Spirit Reversal Beam – Fires a focused beam that removes buffs and heals from enemies, converting the value into raw damage.
Ethereal Tether – Links two targets with an energy tether. If one target is healed, the other takes equal damage. (Can be stacked with Anathema's Touch and amplified the effect by an additional of two times)
Undo Salvation – Targets all healed enemies in an area and reverses their current HP gain into massive true damage.
—
Branch 3: Catastrophic Vitality (High-Risk, High-Reward Offense)
Overheal Detonation – Upon activation, any overhealing applied to an ally or enemy within 10 seconds triggers a large explosion, dealing AoE damage proportional to the excess healing.
Verdant Collapse – Summons a massive plant-like construct. Any healing or damage done to the plant would enable its growth. Once grown fully, it would then target the people that the caster chose.
Blessed Extinction – Temporarily increases the caster's healing abilities but causes all healing done to be converted into percentage-based damage after 5 seconds.
Life Reaper (2 Possible Effect)
Effect 1: Healing abilities inflict bonus damage on enemies equal to 10% of the healing amount.
Effect 2: Any damages received would be converted into health points, and the excess amount would be converted into an attack buff.
—
Branch 4: Origin's Retribution (Ultimate Reversal and Amplification)
Cycle of Despair – Instantly reverses all healing done to every entity within a massive radius over the past 10 seconds, converting it into damage amplified by the caster's Origin stat.
Sanctuary Light– Burst forth a powerful light that deals AOE damage and ignores the enemy's defense based on the caster's Origin Aura. (Can be stacked with Origin's Wrath)
Absolute Undoing – Instantly removes all buffs, healing, and shields on a single target, dealing devastating damage scaled with the total value of the removed effects.
Wrathful Restoration – Unleash a destructive energy burst, dealing damage to all enemies equal to 55% of their current health points multiplied by the caster's Origin stat.

As Xu Feng glanced through the numerous skills in the branches, his facial expression revealed a sinister grin.
"These branch skills are great, but not as great as this one." He muttered, turning his attention to the ultimate skill, Origin's Wrath.
Origin's Wrath
Type: Offensive, True Damage
Description: Channels the raw power of the Origin, releasing a devastating beam of concentrated energy that pierces through all forms of defense, including armor and magic resistance. This attack deals pure, unavoidable damage, making it a fearsome skill against any foe.
