Chapter 442: Split Up
Nearly everyone currently in the dungeon was hit with a silent spell after Emberwolf's remark.
They weren't dazed by his accusation of Xu Feng being biased, but rather dazed by his stupidity that knew no bounds.
"Seriously? What was the Sky Hunters Adventure Team thinking in allowing a person like you in charge?" One person among the crowd asked in disbelief.
"I think the Sky Hunters name should be changed to Dumb Hunters." Another chimed in, clearly finding Emberwolf to be more of a clown than a hunter.
"Who said that?" Infuriated, Emberwolf roared at the person who disrespected his Adventure Team name.
"I did!" Instantly, the person who made that remark raised their hand high up in response.
"Cold Flare!" Emberwolf gnashed his teeth in anger as he recognized the person. Cold Flare belonged to the Lunar Strikers Adventure Team and their team had been compared with them for ages.
"Yes, thank you for calling my name, Dumb Wolf." Cold Flare snickered.
"That's enough, Cold Flare." At this moment, Cold Flare's leader, Moon Arrow spoke up softly.
"Yes," Cold Flare nodded and swiftly retracted his arrogance, acting as if nothing had happened.
Nevertheless, the damage had already been done, and OneManMedia was enjoying every bit of drama captured for the stream.
Meanwhile, Emberwolf felt his blood pressure rise to a new height. Even a fool could tell that Moon Arrow wasn't reprimanding Cold Flare whatsoever.
Alas, he didn't even get a chance to argue further when Xu Feng finally answered his question.
"Mister Emberwolf, I didn't expect your question to be genuine, so forgive me for estimating your intelligence too high." Xu Feng cleared his throat and apologized sincerely.
"For your question earlier, if a team happened to destroy the oppressive pillars faster than anyone else, then kindly rush to another passage that was still struggling. We're a team after all." He continued, giving his most sincere answer.
"Pfft," Carmen, who was watching on the sideline, couldn't help but giggle at his sincerity.
Sure enough, when Carmen, the extremely mysterious and powerful Summoner in the raid, made a giggle, the others no longer restrained themselves any longer.
Like a ripple of effect, the crowd burst into laughter as they couldn't understand how someone in Emberwolf's position could ask such a retarded question.
Baffled and embarrassed, Emberwolf merely wanted to get some screen time and asked some smart questions to get noticed in hopes of redemption from the higher-ups.
Never once did he expect his question would garner such a response.
His face turned so red that he wanted nothing more than to dig a hole and burrow his head into it.
"Okay, are there any more questions?" Xu Feng asked once again, hoping that it would be the last time.
Thankfully, no one raised any more questions, especially with how clear Xu Feng had made it for them. As for asking how to deal with the monsters, only foolish people would think to ask Xu Feng step-by-step how to manage them.
Not only had Xu Feng given them a list of possible monsters, but he also reminded them of what to watch out for.
"Good, now everyone move to your assigned passage. Remember, the time doesn't matter as long as you all don't die and get the job done. 10 revives aren't a lot." He reminded them and gave them a stern warning as they each walked into their designated passage.
Only when he confirmed his team was the last one did Xu Feng enter theirs.
The passage he chose was the closest to the boss' room passage.
For one, it ensured that if some attempted to slip through, he could easily stop them in advance. On the other hand, this passage held another secret that Xu Feng would obviously not benefit others.
'I did all the research, so why should these people get it?' Xu Feng thought to himself.
Poor past timeline players, who discovered this secret as they were once again exploited and had their achievement stolen by Xu Feng.
Who would call him shameless when they most likely would do the same if they happened to be in his shoes?
Sometime later, Xu Feng's team cautiously ventured deeper into the passageway. Though the lights were rather dim, the team could see walls that had been lined with ancient carvings.
"Why does this gloomy environment feel like the empty cave we explored before, Guild Leader?" Carmen furrowed her brows and raised her suspicion, finding this atmosphere quite familiar.
"That's probably because it's somewhat similar—"
Before Xu Feng could even finish his explanation, a sudden blinding white light erupted from ahead, disorienting them all.
In an instant, they found themselves teleported to an entirely different area within the Fortress of the Fallen.
The air was thick and damp, prompting them to have difficulty breathing.
Additionally, the ground beneath them was soft and uneven, covered in a murky swamp-like terrain.
"Where is this?" Ardent Lance shrieked as he glanced around their surroundings. Continue reading at empire
"Seems like we've been transported to another environment." Iceheart, who had been quiet throughout this time, finally opened her eyes as she inspected beneath her.
Mist whirled around her feet, and above them, there were gnarled, twisted trees that towered their heads, and their branches extended like some bony hands.
"Ugh, I felt as if I smelled someone farted after eating some gassy food." Steelshot snorted in disgust, his eyes gazing at Ardent Lance, seemingly trying to imply something.
"I didn't fart!" Ardent Lance gnashed his teeth and exclaimed loudly.
"The stench is from this environment." He pointed it out.
Indeed, there was a foul stench that filled the air, and strange, croaking noises echoed from the shadows, almost as if creatures were lurking just beyond their sight.
"Hmph, maybe you just used it as an opportunity to let out a fart. Who knows?" Steelshot shrugged, clearly enjoying the tease.
"You are the one who farted. You and your whole generation are known as farters." Livid, Ardent Lance truly couldn't comprehend how such a person like Steelshot hadn't been killed in the streets already.
"Alright, that's enough bantering." Xu Feng suddenly halted the two from arguing any further.
"Your loud noise could easily alert the monsters nearby. So unless you want a taste of my fury, let's behave like a good boy, okay?"
