Chapter 85: Combat Test [3]
Kyle Lunaris, the Exalted Academy's vice principal.
He had water affinity and illusion affinity. With them, he found a way to mimic the monsters he had seen before.
With an ability like that, he became responsible for making monsters on the combat tests.
And for some reason! He made the monster exactly in front of me the same moment I blinked!!
*BAM!*
A golden hammer covered in green flames sent me flying away. My mask shattered completely revealing my handsome face.
'Damn you!'
In an instant, I teleported to the other side of the arena and used gravity to stop the throwing force before it could make me hit the wall.
'Ỳ̡̛̀̕͢͢͡ờ̷͜͟u̸̷͟͜͝Ỳ̡̛̀̕͢͢͡ờ̷͜͟u̸̷͟͜͝Ỳ̡̛̀̕͢͢͡ờ̷͜͟u̸̷͟͜͝Ỳ̡̛̀̕͢͢͡ờ̷͜͟u̸̷͟͜͝'
I shook my head as strange whispers echoed in my head. I blinked twice and began to see what threw me like that.
My eyes widened instantly. 'Is that a joke?!'
Standing on the other side of the arena was a golden knight with 4 arms. The knight was covered in green flames from its legs to the great hammer it was holding.
It stared at me with 2 balls of flames instead of eyes as a bunch of magical flaming hammers materialized behind it.
It was the knight that almost killed Yami in the land of challenges.
My radiation wouldn't be effective on it. The knight was literally moving armor!
"Fine!" I spat blood from my mouth and summoned BlackHail as I smirked. "Come to me, bitch!"
*Bam!*
As if it heard me, the knight charged at me with rapid speed, shattering the ground beneath it.
The small magical hammers that were floating beside it suddenly launched at me with an even faster speed.
I didn't panic, instead, my smirk widened as a reddish-black arrow and 2 invisible ones materialized on my hand.
I pulled up the string and aimed at the knight. Time seemed to slow as my head began to work faster.
That was BlackHail's new ability.
After becoming Tier 2, the string power increased, the decreased air resistance from the second ability improved, and I got a third ability.
It was sending pulses of lightning into my head and eyes to make the time seem a little slower.
Covering the eclipse arrow in space aether and the other 2 in wind, I released the arrows immediately. They flew silently with an insane speed.
The eclipse arrow flew faster as it devoured all the attacks it touched, becoming faster and stronger.
The knight swung its hammer, but before it could touch the arrow, a small gate appeared in the air and teleported the arrow to the knight's back.
*Bam! Bam! Bam!*
The eclipse arrow hit the knight's back, then 2 invisible arrows hit the knight's chest and head.
*BOOM!-BAM!*
Before it could recover, a lightning strike hit it, followed by a heavy space arrow in the chest.
Suddenly, the knight hit the ground with its hammer. Green flames erupted out of the hammer and covered the entire arena. I teleported to the sky in an instant and stood on 2 wind spheres.
I hit it with another lightning strike, then a lightning arrow fell on it like a meteor.
It tried to attack me multiple times, but every attack either helped me to restore my aether or was dodged.
Kyle had made a mistake when he made that monster out of all choices. It would have caused trouble only if I couldn't stand in the air.
Well, maybe it was really random in the end.
*BOOM!*
I was genuinely having fun. I rarely left my house or had a real fight for the last 18 years, and this was my first time to fight a monster!
"Hehehe… HAHAHA!"
The knight's armor was melting, both its head and chest were on the verge of shattering, and all its attacks were useless.
Whenever it tried to protect its head, I aimed at the chest. Whenever it tried to protect both the head and chest, I aimed on the back. Whenever it tried to use its hammer, I'd increase the gravity on it.
Using many different attacks and angles, it was losing gradually against me.
I wasn't weak. I had never been weak! It was just my enemies and rivals who were too strong. But this knight and Long Lei? They were nothing!
*Crack!*
Finally, one of my arrows penetrated its head and exploded inside of it, shattering its fake aura core.
The knight's body twitched and trembled before falling on its knees. It was crippled.
It suddenly began to glow as the green flames danced around it in chaos. I knew what it was doing.
Unlike the aura that gets generated directly, the mana gets stored permanently. All the attacks the knight made were from channeling mana outside the core and using it in other ways.
But what if it tried to use magic inside the core itself and using all mana inside of it at once?
That was like how a small grenade could kill tens of people from the energy inside of it.
Basically, it would explode! That bastard was trying to take me with it!
I needed to shatter that core quickly and release all the mana inside of it.
My lips curled into a wide smile as I shot 3 different arrows rapidly at the knight.
*BAM!*
The first was an eclipse arrow enhanced with space aether. It decayed the knight's armor that was barely holding itself.
*CRACK!*
The second was a space arrow enhanced with lightning aether. It shattered the armor completely revealing the unstable mana core.
*BOOM!*
The third was a lightning arrow enhanced with lightning aether. Once it touched the core, an explosive burst of lightning erupted inside the knight.
*Thud!*
The knight collapsed on the ground with a loud *thud*. I finally returned down and lay on the ground from exhaustion.
"Damn… That's why I hate tanks."
The mana I was absorbing from the knight wasn't enough to fill my core, so I had to use my mental power. And that thing didn't feel any fear from my pressure.
I wasn't mentally exhausted yet, but I wasn't too far from that.
More colorful ribbons appeared in my sight, but I ignored them and focused on my next challenge. The next moment, it showed the word "Student".
"At least no surprise attacks this time."
I drank the potions again with an additional healing potion this time before standing up.
I looked at the student name, then my expression turned into confusion. It was one the strangest names I had seen in this world.
He was a man named "Limitless".
There was no surname, showing that he was a nameless orphan before.
That meant he chose the name himself.
'Well, it's not my problem if his sense of naming is that strange.'
I stood up and covered my face entirely as the preparation room's door opened.
*TakTakTak*
My opponent was already here.
