Reincarnated as the Last Villain

Chapter 34: The Queen of Chains

It took them six days to reach the Iron Depths.

A city beneath the earth.

Not marked on maps. Not whispered in inns.

It was a place where traitors, exiles, and monsters too valuable to kill were chained beneath the world…

And ruled by one name:

Eshra Enmaris.The Queen of Chains.

Entrance Through Silence

Kael, Vaenira, and Nilo stood before a gate of solid obsidian, carved with faces screaming in silence.

The warden met them.

"You bring a soulflame," he said, nodding at Kael.

"Yes," Kael replied.

"You'll need it," the warden muttered, and opened the gate.

Inside the Depths

The Iron Depths were not a prison.

They were a kingdom in stasis —filled with mad prophets, war criminals, broken mages, and forgotten lords.

And at its center, seated upon a throne of melted chains…

Eshra Enmaris waited.

Eyes blindfolded.

Body unmoving.

But when Kael entered, she smiled.

"Ah… the First Flame. Come to reclaim yourself?"

The Conversation

Kael stepped forward.

"You wrote the letter. You warned me."

Eshra nodded.

"You burned brighter than expected. The other fragments didn't survive the split. But you… you're fighting back."

"Why?"

"Because you weren't supposed to live long enough to remember."

Truth Revealed

Eshra explained:

The Soul Mirror was designed to shatter gods — not replicate men.

Kael's reincarnation wasn't random. He was chosen, placed into the body of the Last Villain… to see if a soul could survive fragmentation.

Zerath didn't build the Mirror — Eshra did.

And Kael is not her enemy.

"You are my final experiment," she said. "And the moment you remember who you were before the mirror… this world will end."

[Revelation: Kael's Soul is not Human]

He was once part of a higher being — a god or something worse.

The Mirror didn't reincarnate him. It sealed him.

The body of the villain… was a containment shell.

The Offer

Eshra leaned forward.

"I can help you find the remaining fragments. Reunite them. Become whole again."

"But?"

"But when you do… the Kael you are now will die. And what awakens will not be a man."

Vaenira reached for her blade.

Kael raised a hand.

"I'll decide that… when I meet him."
