Reincarnated as the Last Villain

Chapter 11: Skystorm Requiem

Part I – The Floating Grave

The Skyvault of Aetheron.

A lost city, once a divine research temple, now suspended above the Storm Chasm by magic older than the gods themselves.

It was the final resting place of the unsealed form of the Spear of Astrael.

Only those chosen by the Trial of Storms could reach it.

Kael arrived first.

His golden blade shimmered as he faced the howling winds at the base of the floating stairs. Templars gathered behind him.

"This is it," he said.

"No turning back," murmured one.

Kael looked upward.

And far above, hidden behind clouds—

Vaenira watched.

Part II – Flight of the Damned

Location: The Black Citadel's Spire

"Ready the Sky Galleon," Zerath ordered.

Yurein turned. "An airship?"

"A warship."

Within hours, a monstrous flying citadel—half ship, half beast—tore through the skies.

Gorhax manned its fire engines. The Librarian controlled its runic navigation. And Velatrix's spies had already mapped Kael's path.

Zerath stood at the bow, his black cloak whipping in the wind.

"He'll reach the Vault," he murmured.

"And?"

"I want him to," Zerath said. "I want him to hold it."

Part III – The Trial of Storms

Kael reached the Skyvault's gates.

Lightning flashed around him.A colossal guardian made of wind and silver descended from the sky.

"Who seeks the Spear of Heaven?" it boomed.

"Kael of Liora," he said. "Chosen of Astrael."

The trial began.

He fought not with strength—but with conviction. Every strike tested his will.Every clash echoed with memories of his village… his blade… and Vaenira's betrayal.

At the final moment, the guardian asked:

"Do you seek salvation, or vengeance?"

Kael hesitated.

Then whispered: "Both."

The storm bowed.

Part IV – The Clash Begins

As Kael held the spear, light surged from the Skyvault—seen across the skies like a beacon.

And then, the Shadow Galleon appeared.

Zerath descended with his elite guard, walking across thunderclouds like steps of power.

Kael turned, spear ready.

"Zerath," he growled.

"Kael," the villain said smoothly. "You look tired."

"Leave."

"No."

Lightning cracked between them.

"Give me the spear," Zerath said.

"You'll never have it."

"I already did," Zerath whispered.

Part V – Sword of the Past

Before Kael could strike—

Vaenira stepped between them.

Both froze.

Kael: "You… whose side are you on?"

Zerath: "Answer carefully."

Vaenira looked at both.

"I'm on my own."

Then she drew her blade—pointed it at Kael.

Kael's eyes widened. His grip faltered.

But she whispered:"Trust me."

Then lunged—

At Zerath.

Their blades clashed. A spark of old loyalty shattered.
