Chapter 263: Potential Features
Kael watched the exchange feature of the Lion System slowly undergo some changes.
Since he had decided to remove the exclusivity of the Dominion Roar, he also removed the exclusivity of the Exchange feature.
If he could boost a shadow economy that was independent of all the markets of the main world, Kael would naturally do it. In the long run, making the exchange system exclusive only to pride leaders would hurt more than it could benefit.
Kael also began looking into something else, something that he planned on making absolutely exclusive to pride leaders.
[Mission Bestowal Feature: In Progress]
It was just as it said, a feature that would allow other lions to give out missions.
Kael had thought about it, the scale he wanted to expand his sovereignty to, it went beyond being just a regular king. No, he would have to delegate and divide control among his subordinates.
If he intended on being the only one who gave out missions, it wouldn't be a bad thing for the time being. After all, the number of lions in the Lion System was not beyond the scope of his micromanagement.
But once their numbers began to expand, it would be hard to make sense of many things. He would find it hard to give certain missions to different missions to different lions.
Eventually, he would have to select certain lions that he wanted for certain missions instead of just posting a global mission.
He might want an enemy to be eliminated in a particular part of the sea, so instead of posting the mission for everyone, he would have to select all the lions in that particular sea to be qualified for that mission.
In that scenario, if he doesn't do something like that, it would cause a lot of confusion and could lead to the lions being distracted from their Conquering Activities.
And besides that, Kael would find himself being overworked having to distribute so many missions all the time across the whole world, he would never have time for himself.
In a way, the missions of the lion system used the same principles of the Primordial Contracts, they also had to follow some certain rules like reward giving, being detailed, consequences, and so on.
Missions were like the basic and less complex version of contracts; do something and gain a reward for it.
By giving pride leaders the ability to add their own missions to the system's mission board, it freed Kael from some responsibilities while also creating a streamlined routine of activity.
Pride leaders would be able to give out missions based on their own immediate priorities.
Kael was also planning to make a filter system that would filter out the useless missions that are not related to Conquering at all.
After all, it was very possible that some pride leaders would try to exploit the system to gain more benefits. It was important to make it so that only missions related to Conquering would be allowed on the mission board.
This way, Kael would be able to maximize his Conquering Essence income through the missions.
It was exhilarating to be planning the future like this, but Kael knew that planning without action was just daydreaming, so he went to work on the lion system immediately, not wasting another second.
'Is this how it feels to be the CEO of a gaming company?' Kael casually thought to himself.
Thinking of this, he already had plans for the lion kings which he hoped would work. This planet was very dependent on Xu Ying and his crew which was why he asked for all of them to come.
Looking through the operation system of the Iron Blood Pyramid, he could see that Katari, Xu Ying, and the rest of the lion youths had already crossed through the portal and were making their way here.
Thinking of them, another idea suddenly struck Kael's mind.
A Lionhood Bar.
Imagine if there was a Lionhood Bar that had to be filled to the maximum to ensure that each lion in the lion system received privileges or felt good emotions.
'Yes, yes, yes,' Kael said, thinking of those mind-turning hard drugs, the addictive and intoxicating effects they had on those who took them.
'Yes, I can integrate that…' Kael thought, his fingers compensating by moving fast, drawing blueprints and more plans.
'Ah, yes, and the only way to keep the Lionhood Bar filled would be to complete missions! Yes, hahahahaha…'
Kael's eyes glimmered with wicked light, he looked like a villain planning the downfall of an empire.
'Oh, I'll have to slow down,' Kael thought, calming down. It was a good and effective idea that could change a lot but he had to slow down.
Some features needed to finish their upgrades, and he also had to make some more features like the mission filtering system soon while managing the rise in lions that will continue being added to the Lion System.
Plus, he had not yet finished his studies in what exactly Lionhood was. He knew that it meant 'The Ability To Conquer' but he needed to have a detailed definition to avoid errors that would be hard to fix.
Not to mention, all these interesting features would have to be powered by a steady influx of Conquering Essence, which they don't have much of, just a steady input.
As long as there were Conquering-related missions being completed, there would be a steady influx of Conquering Essence. As long as there was Conquering Essence, ye features would remain active.
Still, Kael was starting to have a clearer idea of just how powerful the Lion System could be. If he played his cards right, it could even allow him to gain some influence in heaven before the spatial distortion around the planet faded.
Kael used his master rights to manipulate the golden screen in front of him to create a separate tab. He listed all the possible features he might create, those that were interesting and those that did not seem interesting yet.
From here, he would observe, and modify as he pleased, while working on the activities of the whole kingdom.
This power, it was getting too much, but it was also starting to seem like it wasn't enough, like there could be more.
'Did the other Primordial Lions have this Lion System? Was it a variation?
And the Primordials of other races, what kind of power would they have since they all have an affinity with a different law that is not necessarily the Law Of Conquering?
How would a Primordial Cheetah or a Primordial Elephant use their own powers?
Lions are social creatures, could that have affected how the Conquering power is being manifested?
I can share the benefits of my powers with other lions or lionesses, can other Primordials who aren't social creatures do the same?
But Cheetahs aren't social creatures the way lions are and Tigers are mostly solitary by nature.
A cheetah Primordial would have powers relating to the Law of Speed and a Primordial Tiger should be affiliated with the Law of Hunting or something close, if something like that even exists…
Hmmm…'
While Kael was thinking and working on the modification of the lion system, he brought out Aziza's Heavenly Beacon and let it float beside him.
Meanwhile, Xu Ying and his crew were closing in on the Iron Blood Pyramid.
The portal entrance had been moved from the lake where it had previously been and was now located ten kilometers away from the pyramid.
That was a distance that most of them could easily cross in a very short amount of time.
Xu Ying stood before the Iron Blood Shuttle, his blue trench coat was still, due to the lack of wind. He looked up, remembering that the last time he was here, he had been looking for the heavenly beacon and this pyramid was still ownerless.
His heart was filled with regret, if he had acted fast, this pyramid might have become his. But if he also did that, the strings that Noel pulled many years ago might deal with him.
Still, he would not have known unless he tried.
He already had a pyramid of his own on another planet, but compared to this Iron Blood Pyramid, his own pyramid was lacking.
"He's waiting for you," Katari appeared beside him with her arms crossed over her chest.
Xu Ying nodded before moving forward. The black metal plates shifted to the side and formed an entrance for him and the others.
Katari stood to the side, her bare feet exposed to the bare ground.
She stared expressionlessly at each of them as they walked past her. Baba had his head down, not daring to look at her.
Katari ignored him, she looked at the white-haired white-skinned lady with bright blue eyes. Alora had been downcast when Katari saw her on the magic shuttle, now, she seemed quite active and she moved with a sense of purpose.
Katari had her senses on her, just in case.
Just then, the two grey-haired humanoid spirit lions, one male and one female, of the group walked past her.
And currently, the male humanoid was dragging a battered body across the dirt ground. This battered body had the face of someone Katari had never forgotten.
Isaiah.
