Redemption Of The Yandere Villain

Eugene didn't withdraw and some students found it confusing. After all, it was announced that Eugene was pulled out but in the next second, he is eligible to join the selection again. This made some examinees who thought that team 4 is done for swallowed their disappointment.

They are now standing before a dungeon gate.

The second round is treasure hunting. They must find the treasure hidden while looking for clues to get out of the dungeon. Knowing that this dungeon is safe and is raided, Eugene knew that Timber would be safe unless they will be attacked by other teams to steal the clues they would get. That's the only problem they needed to address.

It's also fortunate that Timber's step-brother didn't show himself.

Heaven knows how worried he is to the point he couldn't even sleep properly.

Thankfully the exam was resumed after one day of rest and everyone seems to be physically fit now. Treasure Hunting seems easy but the difficulty is looming especially when the examiner announces the rules of the game. Eugene can see it, everyone started to look at their potential prey which added pressure to some examinees.

"What to do...the exam looks easy on the surface but..."

Zaoran patted Reign's shoulder: "Don't worry, we can do this."

Eugene glance at Timber who started to nibble some fruits and sigh: "Don't eat too much, the fruits will chase you in your dream again. I can't chase it away, what to do?"

Timber froze and then purse his lips.

"T-Then I won't eat."

After the announcement the gate opened and everyone enter but was teleported to a different part of the dungeon. Team 4 landed in the north which is the darkest place in the dungeon so everyone immediately shout to perceive their teammates' existence.

Fortunately, upon entering Eugene held Timber so both sticks to each other.

"Everyone, the enemy in this dungeon are other teams, no matter what you should not trust anyone who will come to you. We will focus on finding clues and getting the treasure, without my command no one is allowed to make a move that could endanger the team."

"Commander, how to start? The surrounding is dark."

"That's right, we don't have dualists like team 1 that can use magic to create light, just why the hell we are the one who was thrown here?"

Eugene who was punished: "..."

Because he offended the academic officers, it will be no wonder his team will always be at the edge. He knew it, nothing goes right when you do wrong things. Anyways he must think of a way how to get out of the north side. This was supposed to be the team 1's starting place but now they're the one in this situation. Thinking about Kaizer who is probably starting to move, Eugene couldn't help but dislike it. What a mess.

Closing his eyes, Timber's face flashes in Eugene's mind which made Eugene startled when he suddenly remembers that Timber's senses in the dark are sharp and Timber can easily tell the way by listening to the surrounding.

"That's it." Eugene tighten his grip on Timber's hand and said "Timber, can you close your eyes and focus on the surrounding then tell us what you're hearing?"

"Huh?"

Timber didn't know why but he agreed: "Alright."

Eugene guided Timber on what to do and Timber who suddenly realized Eugene's meaning became excited. Look! He is a used for Eugene now! His hearing can actually reach the range he never imagines! If it weren't for Eugene he wouldn't know about this talent at all!

"Did you hear something?"

"Yes, I heard the direction of the wind which made me realize that there is an opening part of this place at the left side about one...one hundred meters?"

"Is that a straight path?"

"Well, the wind is curving so there is probably some wall around."

Eugene lowered his gaze: "We are in a maze."

"Maze?!"

Eugene clicks his tongue: "Do you guys know where we stand? Try to approach our direction and held each other's hand. I and Timber will lead the way out." If they're one hundred meters away, then they're in the middle part of the maze which makes it easier to go out, especially with Timber's ability, there is an eighty percent chance to get out within one hour.

The remaining percentage?

Well, it depends on the accuracy of Timber's ability.

Timber's hand was grabbed by Reign and called out to others, stating the coordinates which make it for them easier to find Timber and Eugene's direction.

"Is everyone here?"

"Yes!"

Eugene asked Timber to lead the way as they follow each other's footsteps. The audience outside couldn't see what was happening inside by they heard the conversation so they knew that Team 4 fell into a maze. Fortunately one of the team members has sharp senses which would help them get out of the place.

A6: "I thought he's the most useless one."

A7: "Hey, don't judge someone easily."

A10: "Stupid, no one will pass the warfare selection if they are not capable. What are you doing criticizing them? Even ordinary swordsmen are better than us and you dare to hate?"

A6: "Who says I'm hating?!"

A3: "Don't fight. Did none of you notice? That Timber kid is protected by the son of the Marquis. It's no wonder he rarely moves because the marquis's son would do the fighting for him."

Some audience suddenly felt bitter.

With such a friendship, who wouldn't feel envious? This Timber kid is so lucky that he is the treasure of the team. However, they are also cursing, hoping to see what this kid will do without the son of the Marquis beside him. No one knew the severity of their mouth not knowing that if Eugene can hear them, they might not see the sun.

On the other hand Team 1 is moving but they keep being hundred by the vines.

In the raided dungeon there's no high-level beast to fear but there is some low-level existence that could annoy them just like this monster vine that will wrap around their body and keep regenerating no matter how much it was sliced apart.

"What is this, what is this? Arghhh!"

Rasiel feels like he's going crazy with the sticky fluids around his body.

Everyone has this wet look because of the juice that the vine secreted but they're not exaggerating like Rasiel who would run in a circle to avoid the vince to touch him.

Rasiel doesn't fear high-level demon beast, but when he encounters low-level existence like slime and vine monster, he would panic and run away, forgetting he's a swordsman that could farm alone a bunch of demon beast without the help of someone. However, this time, Rasiel who drags them above the ranking is screaming for help like a lady.

"T-This...commander---"

Kaizer: "Ignore him."

Casimin and Kaizer trotted forward with an 'I'm-so-done' expression making their teammates look at them dumbfoundedly.

Rasiel is still screaming. His voice is so loud that it brings discomfort to their ear.

"Kaizer you ruthless beast! I would never forget a traitor like you!"

"Also Casimin! I swear! A time will come you will kneel for me!" [Author: *cough *side eyes]

Kaizer and Casimin continue to ignore Rasiel and move forward. There's no danger here so leaving a stupid person behind is not a problem. Rasiel can survive.

Team 1's member trembles as they got out of the place.

The last thing they hear is Rasiel's dead screaming.

Gulping, they immediately do a sign of a cross and pray for the vice commander which made the audience outside burst into laughing. Duke Vladiermich on the other hand is crying hard, cursing the son of the duke for not helping his precious son, of course, he didn't forget to include the heartless son of Duke Viltaria. This made Duchess Retisha facepalm and realize that no matter how much she scold her son if the father is like this, then nothing is strange.

She gives up.

No one can save the family but her.

"Wife huhu. Wife look at our precious son, he was so wronged now. He just finished crying and complaining to me yesterday and now he is bullied again. How could I endure this?!"

Duchess Retisha's cold expression cracks.

Duke Vladiermich didn't notice something and continued to complain which made the nobles beside them cover their faces in embarrassment thinking that this was not something they should hear and witness. The noblemen even throw a look of sympathy to Duchess Retisha, thinking that how could a talented woman marry a man like that?

However, after a few minutes, they almost fled away.

Duchess Retisha, who couldn't endure it drag her husband by clothes to leave the balcony. The Duke's dead-like scream sends shivers to the noblemen who always covet Duchess Retisha and immediately throw away their thoughts. Just like the members of team one, the noblemen also lit each candle to pray for the duke. A woman like that, they're afraid they couldn't handle it.

Like father, like son. Rasiel who was left alone finally come out.

On Eugene's side, they are still inside the maze but so far, they never encounter problems so they keep moving forward without delay and finally exit after one hour and five minutes.

Everyone praise Timber, and Timber was so embarrassed that his face turn red.

"Let's go and find clues."

Upon leaving the maze, they immediately plan the routes. Eugene who knew the way to this dungeon lead the way in finding the first clue. He's a cheat in this game because he already knows where the clues are hidden and even the treasure is. Nonetheless, it's not a reason to take the second round for granted knowing that some team could possibly attack them anytime to snatch the clues in their hand.

After all, whenever a team found clues, it would be announced.

That's it to create excitement in this round.

"This dungeon looks so maintained."

"Well, this is used every year for students who take warfare selection."

"No wonder the observers are the seniors."

Eugene yawn and look around. The north part of the dungeon is so quiet because there are no monsters and only low-level existence. He just hopes that they won't encounter slime because he hated those creatures. Who can endure such a monster who will stick to your skin and melt your clothes? The selection is broadcasted live, anyone who experiences such a tragedy wouldn't be able to lift their head because of the embarrassment.

"Right, how can we find food here?"

Eugene thought: "We are gonna be vegetarian." however he didn't say that out loud because the word vegetarian is not existing here, he can only say, "Plants. There are no monsters for meat but there are plants in this dungeon that is edible."

Everyone is shocked.

"No way, no meat means no energy!"

Timber grasp the fruits in his mini bag with wide eyes. Fortunately, he brought food given by his mother, otherwise, he would eat plants that he hated the most!

Thinking about eating plants made everyone weak.

What to do? If they don't eat they will be hungry. If they're hungry they would have no strength and would be easily ambushed by other teams. They could only suffer as there is no solution. Because, unlike Timber who luckily brought something to eat, they didn't think about bringing food and only some quilt to sleep on. If they knew, they would have filled their storage ring with some goods. In that way, they won't be wronged.

Theoran: "Ah damn it!"

Reign: "It's over, it's over. I don't eat plants."

Zaoran: "I thought there would be a monster here for meat."

Sanciel: "What a bad luck."

Eugene just chuckles. He also didn't bring food but it's nothing for him. He is not a picky eater and eats vegetables. However, his regret is not bringing some seasoning and tools for cooking. Look like they'll eat bland and raw vegetables here.

It's really bad luck.

Eugene and his team enter another passage.

Unlike the maze, this part of the north is only a little dark so they can walk without a problem. But they still need to tie themselves to each other and touch around places in order not to get a loss on their way. It's a bit hard so they must get all the clues here to be able to leave the northern part of the dungeon.
