Alix could only watch him stunned. "You are…asking that woman to marry you who started-"

"You are once again equating everything with the past," Jin didn't let her complete her sentence.

"Yes, because it's fucking important is what I want to believe. You might be the big idiot here, not me. You want me to just walk in past your villa's doors as Mrs. Liu like the past never happened?"

"It happened but like you taught me, I am keeping it at the red signal," he plainly said. "That's where Zhan Yahui belongs. Ren Alix belongs in the Liu family."

Alix smiled. "I must applaud your kind but also very stupid heart. Are you done talking?"

"Yes. That's what I wanted to say."

"Good. My response is no. So let's move onto my questions like you promised you would answer. What happened at that bar night?"

Jin didn't answer.

"No matter how much wasted you would have been, I know you didn't assault Wang Xia. You would rather puke your guts out so why are you still on that side of the glass window?"

His silence didn't budge.

Which made Alix steadily lose her patience.

"Mr. Liu Jin. Your lips are not sewed shut so I would appreciate some response from you like you promised," she said with a hint of a strong warning.

"I would talk if you consider my proposal."

"I did. And I said no."

"You didn't. I don't accept it."

A vein popped on her forehead. "You said you will talk to me if I listen to you."

"That was on the assumption that you will consider my words sincerely and genuinely think upon them. You didn't, so I won't talk about that night."

"YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!"

That angry roar forced an officer to step in and ask, "Is everything okay, Miss. Ren?"

Alix pressed her lips and took a deep breath. She turned to face the officer with a smile. "Oh I am alright. I would only like to ask if you keep poison with you?"

"Huh? Poison?"

"So that you feed it to the man I am talking to. You see, I am on the redemption path of not spilling more blood but…somebody just cannot bear to see my good side."

The officer threw a look at Jin, who held no change in his expression. He cleared his throat and promptly stepped out of the room, not wanting to get into their fight.

Alix gnashed her jaw as she threw back a murderous glare at him.

"So in the end, you just wanted to talk about your side but never answer my questions in the first place. That was your plan, wasn't it?"

Jin shook his head. "You consider my proposal seriously and I will answer whatever you want."

She sneered. "So you are threatening me?"

"It will only be considered a threat if you care enough about me to know the truth, isn't it? Or you could have left right away."

Alix grabbed her bag and got on her feet.

"And that's what I will do. You have completely lost it but it doesn't mean that I have to lose my sanity too. So you are free to keep your silence or stay imprisoned here. It has nothing to do with me anymore."

She stormed out of the bureau, holding an urge to scream into the void.

"That idiot! What kind of nonsense is going on in his mind in this situation!? I never thought that somebody could be this foolish!"

Alix bit the top of her thumb, her brain gearing of what to do next.

Well if he cannot give any answers then I have to find somebody else.

She took out her phone and typed a message. 'Are you free?'

Shui quietly sipped on her iced coffee as she stared at Alix seated opposite her. "You seem to be in a bad mood. Is it about Jin?"

That instantly brought a dark cloud in her expression and Shui knew she was right. At first, her company was comfortable because of her identity as Ren Alix but that she knew who Alix was, Shui didn't know how to face her.

"I know you don't want to see my face so I will make this quick."

"Is that why you completely went off the grid? Because you thought that?"

"I wasn't expecting to be showered with flower petals so…"

Alix pressed her palms on her thighs, restless and anxious.

What the hell is this situation? She is facing the woman who threatened and used her to marry Jin and now we are sitting like what? Clearly, not friends.

I want to kill Jin, Alix decided. This is all happening because of him.

"It's about Jin refusing to clarify himself, isn't it?"

Her question snapped her stupor and Alix struggled to maintain her composure. "I would certainly say I have no clue what he is thinking. Did he get into an accident in these four months that I don't know about?"

"No, he didn't. He is acting with a very sane mind apparently."

Alix could feel her impatience and fury leak out of her countenance.

"Don't…Don't tell me he refused to meet you too?"

She smiled. "He especially refused to meet me."

Alix's face blackened.

"He wants to meet you and you only."

"I don't care about that. I want to know what happened."

"Nobody knows," she slightly shook her head again.

"The Liu family would have definitely found something out."

"Only the footage of Want Xia taking Jin into the room. She was wearing a mask. Before that, they were talking for some time at the bar counter. Nobody knows what happened when they were inside. Only Jin knows that."

"And Wang Xia."

"She has asked for protection from the Liu family stating that they would threaten and pressurize her. Not just them. Including the Han, Zhu, Gu, Chen…all families related or close to the Liu family are not allowed to see her."

"Really? She used that much of her brain? Is she okay?"

Shui slightly choked. "She wanted revenge so she has thought about it from all angles it seems."

"Huh…"

"Naturally, it's looking very, very bad for Jin. His refusal to speak is only triggering more controversy," Shui's expression worsened. "Uncle and Aunt are so tense too."

Alix rubbed the back of her neck, inhaling a deep breath.

"Well she can try all she wants to stay in her bubble of protection but it's useless," she smiled with a hint of malice. "I guess the fashion show wasn't enough of a lesson for her so…"

Alix dialed a number on her phone and waited.

"Mui."

"Sis! It's amazing! Do you see our company's stock valuation increasing so much? The growth has been so explosive in the past four months!"

"Good. Celebrate it with pizza. While you are at it, also call Wang Xia to meet you."

"Huh? Why? Plus, she won't meet me anyway after how she lost."

She smiled. "Isn't it such a good chance for you to hone on your villainous skillset? I don't care how you achieve it, I want her within my sight in twenty-four hours."

Shui asked as she hung up, "You think she will confess to you?"

Alix looked up and blinked. "If you know who you are talking to, then yes. People like to talk to me very much, you know? Particularly when she will find herself very close to being thrown out of a twentieth floor window."
