Rebirth: Super gene

Chapter 127: Realm destroyed

A weapon so heavy that he couldn't lift it off the ground even with all his might. It distorted light and created its own gravitational field.

Aeonshard! The berserk blade.

Bian summoned the Ivory Serpent and instructed it to head over to Tyrant. The white snake slithered across the destroyed landscape and up the leg of the fifteen-meter-tall Minotaur.

The pressure from the sun was too much for Bian to bear as his legs broke through the ground. He refused to kneel or even lower himself, so he watched as the end approached.

The white snake slithered to the left arm of Tyrant, the wound itself across his wrist like a bracelet.

It raised its head to glance at him, then opened its gaping maw, the inside of which was like a black hole.

Tyrant's massive hand went into that mouth, grabbing a long pole.

He pulled on it, revealing a ten-meter-long halberd. Bian was gobsmacked when he saw Tyrant moving the halberd like it was a broomstick.

The Strength Overlord closed his eyes, gathering his intent.

The next moment, a hundred-meter-tall phantom appeared behind him. In its hand was a thousand-meter-long halberd.

The pressure from the approaching sun was gone, replaced by the domineering aura released by Tyrant.

"Witness my true potential!" A deep voice beckoned.

'He can talk?' Bian forgot all about the approaching attack and turned his full attention to Tyrant, not wanting to miss a single moment.

The Minotaur and its hundred-meter phantom moved in tandem. The thousand-meter-long halberd phantom released a halberd light, millions of kilometers long.

"Annihilation!"

The halberd light tore through space and time itself, severing the sun in two, but it wasn't done yet.

The attack continued unimpeded. Big Mara was blown to pieces despite its screams and defensive attempts.

The white halberd light flew to the ends of the starless world, destroying the barrier that kept the space intact.

A long crack was made across the dimension, visible from every direction. The crack spread like a snake, covering the whole space in an instant.

"Complete domination!" Bian said in awe, then ran to the shelter alongside Tyrant. The space was coming undone, meaning everything would be released back to the sanctuaries.

Who knew where he might end up? It was better to stay in his stronghold so he wouldn't be separated from it.

He managed to gather three life geno essences as he ran back. It was too risky to bring the others back, even though he knew their exact location using the Emperical Aura.

Soon black flakes began falling, the view in front of Bian distorted and cracked. It was quite a frightening experience, to have the whole world crumbling before your sights.

'Even if the space cracks, I have Jadebody to protect myself.' Bian reassured himself.

The cracks around his view continued to increase until... BANG! The whole space shattered.

...

All over the third sanctuaries, space cracks appeared at random locations.

Destroyed buildings and bloodthirsty creatures were released from the space cracks.

In a mountain, Han Yan barely managed to escape from the pursuit of a dreadful king spirit.

In a secluded room, she found diagrams etched upon the walls and ceilings depicting the graceful movement of a phoenix.

The esoteric meanings of the diagrams had enriched her heavenly glow to a new level. With frightening comprehension, she knew how to maneuver in the air without wings or the seven twists.

"Phoenix technique!" Han Yan said in awe.

She explored the room a bit more before feeling a strong causal reaction behind a seal.

"Another spirit, but this one is very strong. He has good karma, very good karma." Han Yan made up her mind to free him and enlist his help to handle the spirit chasing after her.

With her super body, she could view and subtly manipulate the causal chains of entities. Since the being behind the door had good karma, it meant he was a person who repaid good for good and evil for evil.

In other words, he was a good person—or spirit in this case.

"One step closer."

...

In the Thousand Insect Forest, Man Tian fought against a king-class spirit shelter. He was the only capable person, fighting against the forces of the shelter for weeks on end.

Today, he had defeated all the sacred-blood creatures and was battling with the spirit near the spirit hall.

"To think a mere human could push me this much!"

"Hmph! Don't get full of yourself. Your abilities just happened to keep you alive for a little while longer."

Man Tian was fighting a spirit who could turn intangible for a few seconds at any moment. All fatal blows were avoided by him, but he also couldn't land a finishing blow on Man Tian.

'That's why I led the fight to your shelter, even at the cost of a few injuries. The moment he is distracted, I aim for his spirit stone.'

Just as Man Tian was thinking about how to create a distraction, a space crack appeared hundreds of meters above them.

"What the—"

A humongous structure on four legs fell out of the space crack, crashing into the ground like a meteor.

The impact of its landing caused an earthquake as the ground trembled violently.

Gritting his teeth, Man Tian ran towards the spirit shelter, his sights set on the stone in the statue's forehead.

The spirit burst into a sprint, chasing after him with his sword raised and ready to stab him.

No matter how fast the spirit ran, Man Tian was faster. He reached the statue in an instant and grabbed at the spirit stone.

Incredulously, the green spirit stone turned ethereal as his hand phased through it.

'Why am I not surprised? Since his armor and sword could turn intangible, of course his spirit stone would be able to do it too.

So that's why the doors to the shelter were wide open—it was a bait.'

Man Tian turned around but the sharp sword was already piercing through his armor.

The spirit had a wicked smile on his face, but his smile soon faded. An even more malevolent smile was sketched on his opponent's face.

Man Tian grabbed the sword with one hand, stopping it from digging into his flesh. His second hand was already flying towards the spirit's head.

'Intangible! Why can't I turn intangible?' The spirit was frightened, clearly aware of the destructive power of Man Tian's punch.

He looked behind and was beyond shocked. Man Tian was blocking the spirit stone with his body, preventing it from turning tangible, which in turn prevented him from turning intangible.

"You ba—"

Pop!

Blood flew everywhere as the spirit's head exploded. Man Tian stepped back and grabbed the spirit stone, then watched wistfully as it shattered in his palms.

"I hate fighting spirits," he said while walking to the fallen colossal construct.

"You saved us!"

"We are in your debt."

Several people who had been shackled by the spirit came out, giving gratitude to Man Tian.

"I saved you, but I am not your babysitter. No one is in my debt; do with your life as you please.

If you still have the courage, stand up and fight against the dreadful creatures of the sanctuaries. If not, go back to the alliance and live a peaceful life as a surpasser.

The choice is yours!"

Man Tian scaled up the construct, observing it for a while before locating the head. Unexpectedly, he found a face he never expected to see so soon.

"Man Tian, so glad to have you here," Bian said almost in a rehearsed tone of voice.

He had summoned the spirits and they were currently discussing how to uplift the shelter.

"Is that who I think it is?" Man Tian asked, pointing to the fifteen-meter-tall Minotaur. The halberd was nowhere to be seen, but a white snake curled around the Strength Overlord's left arm like a bracelet.

Bian introduced Man Tian to Tyrant, and with his help, they were able to lift the shelter again using pure muscles and calculations.

"I get the feeling that you didn't need my help to lift up the shelter." Man Tian spoke while looking at Tyrant.

"True, I need your help to handle any unforeseen consequences of overusing my powers."

"Is that why your body is like a statue?" Man Tian had noticed this before, but he assumed it to be a transformative state or the effect of a beast soul.

Bian gave a nod. Just like staying awake for too long, he had maintained his form for too long and was unsure of the consequences. His energy had been depleted long ago, after all.

Bian deactivated the Jadebody. Immediately, an overwhelming sense of weakness pervaded his body.

He fell on both knees as he became skinny in a matter of seconds.

'I'm dying. I don't have even an ounce of energy.' He struggled with his last might to reach for the crystal heart. The last pill contained terrifying energy and could potentially save his life.

A sweet smell diffused in the air as he brought out the pill. Just as he was about to swallow it, he felt the heresy mantra evolving.

'Curse of immortality!' Bian rejoiced. The last stage of heresy mantra fills the heart with incredible power but consumes a lot of energy.

The requirement to activate it was extreme exhaustion, which he had more than satisfied.

'Now I just need to eat a large amount of food for the next couple of days.' Bian was exuberant. The result of his exhaustion was not entirely negative but even allowed him to enter the last phase of heresy mantra.
