Rebirth, Seduce My Ex-husband

Chapter 15: What About Papa? 1

The Next Day…

As soon as the clock struck six, Rowen took his coat and left without saying goodbye.

Around eight, Vanessa woke up and made her way to the bathroom to take a bath. But this time, she realized she didn't have any extra clothes and couldn't wear Rowen's shirt back home.

She decided to put on her old clothes, but just then, there was a knock on the door.

Thinking it was Rowen, she quickly dusted herself off and ran to open it, only to be surprised by a group of maids standing before her.

"Good morning, young madam," they greeted in unison, bowing respectfully. Each of them held different boxes, obviously filled with clothes and shoes.

"Umm… good morning. May I ask why you're all here?" Vanessa questioned, slightly taken aback.

"Sorry to intrude, young madam, but Mr. Quin has sent these clothes for you. He also instructed us to help you get dressed," one of the maids explained politely.

Vanessa laughed awkwardly and quickly refused. "No need, I'll get ready myself. You can drop the clothes and leave now. I'm fine."

The maids nodded and did as instructed before leaving immediately.

Once they were gone, Vanessa let out a small sigh of relief.

As she stared at the clothes and shoes in front of her, a sad smile appeared on her face. Rowen was such a caring man, yet all she had ever done was insult and humiliate him.

She still wondered why, after all these years, he hadn't divorced her. Did he love her that much?

Sighing, she made her way to the bathroom. After she was done, she excitedly opened the boxes, only to be surprised to find hair products and makeup included as well.

He was so thoughtful.

Smiling, she happily got ready and tried on the dress they had brought.

The yellow dress fit her perfectly it was as if it had been made just for her.

Packing up her things, she grabbed her car keys and left the condo.

She had to go pick up her daughter. Today, she couldn't wait to spend the whole day with her.

Meanwhile…

Rowen entered his office and took his seat. Crossing his legs, he asked, "What's on our schedule for today, George?"

"We have an important meeting at 2 PM, and after that, you're scheduled to meet Mr. Richard Gu. He wants to discuss the $30 million deal you suggested during last month's auction. He says he has a contract you won't be able to refuse."

Hearing this, Rowen simply nodded. Just then, his phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, he sighed.

Removing his glasses, he picked up the call. "Good morning, Ma."

"My son, good morning. How has your week been? I'm sure it's been good since that witch of a wife of yours is finally out of your life," his mother said, her tone laced with disgust.

Rowen didn't respond.

"Well, the reason I'm calling is to inform you about your fifth uncle's birthday the day after tomorrow. He specifically asked to see you and Vanessa. You know he's the richest in the entire Quin family we must not dare offend him. Try your best to keep that wayward wife of yours in check and make sure she doesn't cause any trouble!"

"Don't worry, Mother. I'll get things ready. If that's all, we'll talk later…"

"Wait, wait… I'm not done," she interrupted with a sigh. "Tomorrow is your fiancée's birthday. I've reserved a spot for you two at the Grand Ki Hotel. You should take her there and spend time with her."

"I'll be busy tomorrow. I don't have time for that," Rowen bluntly refused.

"Don't give me that excuse! I checked your schedule through your sister's help. I know you're free tomorrow. Now do this for your mother go with her. Trust me, you'll have fun, alright?"

"I'll think about it. If that's all, bye, Ma," Rowen said, cutting the call immediately.

Sighing, he turned to George, who was already sweating.

"My sister got to you again. If you keep giving her everything she asks for, why don't you go work for her instead?" Rowen said, shaking his head slightly.

At the Quinn Mansion…

At around 10 AM, Vanessa arrived at the Quinn Mansion.

It had been a while since she last set foot here.

Upon seeing her, the guards immediately welcomed her inside. Despite being rude and horrible to Rowen and Tara, Vanessa was kind to the maids and workers, making them wonder why she treated her family so differently.

"Welcome back, Miss Quin," the passing maids greeted, bowing politely.

Vanessa just smiled and nodded.

She felt awkward being called Miss Quinn. It was only now that she realized she had always hated that name not because she hated Rowen, but because, deep down, she knew she didn't deserve to be called a member of the Quinn family after everything she had done.

Taking a deep breath, she stepped into the enormous mansion. As expected, it looked just as she had left it.

The white and grey interiors were as clean and polished as ever, and the house was bustling with maids moving from one place to another.

She had wanted to make Rowen believe she was a spoiled brat who couldn't do anything, so she had hired almost twenty maids. But to her surprise, Rowen had hired fifty more just to please her.

No matter what she did, he never got angry. Instead, he gave her more reasons to stay.

Sigh… He was the best husband.

Just then, a tiny voice called out to her.

"Mommy?"

Surprised, Vanessa turned to see her daughter, Tara, running toward her.

"Mommy, is that really you? Are you really here?" Tara asked, disbelief written all over her face.

Smiling, Vanessa bent down and hugged her tightly. "Yes, baby, I'm really here. How are you?" she asked, checking her daughter to make sure the incident had left no scars.

"I'm more than fine, Mommy! I'm so happy to see you!" Tara squealed in excitement.

But the lovely moment was soon interrupted by an unwelcome presence.

"And who the hell let this woman in?!"
