Rebirth of the Celestial Miracle Doctor

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Fierce Fight

This top-grade spiritual stone, even larger than a fist, would surely burst me with the spiritual energy inside. No, no, I absolutely cannot use this treasure to forcefully establish the Foundation.

After struggling with the thought for a while, Yun Mu gave up this crazy idea and began to sit down on the ground to meditate quietly.

Having experienced last night's failure, Yun Mu didn't dare to manipulate the spiritual energy in his body too rashly. He could only slowly breathe in and out, gathering his inner strength at the Dantian to nurture his body.

And that was all the effect there was. A night passed, and aside from feeling refreshed, Yun Mu found no improvement in his strength.

To hell with it, after taking care of that gang this afternoon, he could carefully investigate the Foundation Establishment matter later.

Yun Mu stood up, intending to leave the room to wake up the two women for work, but his peripheral vision caught a glimpse of something shiny.

What's this?

Yun Mu curiously picked it up and saw that it was a multi-functional Swiss Army Knife, and it was even a special edition. Compared to a regular Swiss Army Knife, it surprisingly also had a telescopic baton feature.

Yun Mu thought for a moment and decided to keep the knife in his pocket. Now that he had no spiritual power blessing him, having a tool for self-defense was not a bad idea.

With the special edition Swiss Army Knife in tow, Yun Mu and the two women left for the company.

Today the company was calm and tranquil, free from the Shen Family's harassment, and everything went according to normal routine.

But to Yun Mu, this was just the calm before the storm.

Wen Jia, while handling her documents, glanced occasionally at the restless Yun Mu and asked with concern, "Little brother, is there something troubling you? Tell your sister about it."

Yun Mu chuckled and waved his hand, "No, no, Jiajia sister, I'm just too idle."

Wen Jia also covered her mouth and laughed, "I think you should go to school with Qingcheng. Learn some knowledge, come back, and help me translate these documents."

Finally, midday arrived, and taking advantage of Wen Jia and Qingcheng going to the cafeteria for lunch, Yun Mu sneaked out of the company.

He mustn't let the two of them know about this; otherwise, they might worry about him again.

Houhai Lane was quite easy to find. Opening the map navigation on his Apple phone, Yun Mu quickly located Houhai Lane.

As the name suggests, Houhai Lane is near Houhai, which is a natural lake in Ji'an City. Due to the massive area of the lake, it's referred to as a sea.

Yun Mu hailed a taxi and soon arrived at Houhai.

Houhai truly lived up to its name; looking across, the lake shimmered, speckled with tourists rowing boats, and waterbirds hovered at low altitudes, creating a serene scene.

Yun Mu took a deep breath. Even the air here was so fresh. If not for the fact that he was here to fight, Yun Mu really wanted to enjoy this place a bit more.

Following his phone's directions, Yun Mu leisurely made his way to Houhai Lane.

Houhai Lane was indeed just an alley, less than five meters wide. Yun Mu slowly walked towards the end of the alley, but as he ventured deeper, he discovered that Houhai Lane was actually a dead end!

This was bad; the opponent choosing this place must have had some intent.

Yun Mu could already smell an ominous scent in the air.

He lifted his wrist and looked at it; the Tissot watch indicated that it was one-fifty-eight, two minutes until two o'clock.

No way, I definitely shouldn't stay here.

A strong intuition drove Yun Mu to run toward the entrance of the alley. However, before he reached the alley's entrance, a black van rushed in, taking a sharp turn that blocked the exit.

When the dust settled, the van's doors opened and a group of people alighted.

Leading them was none other than Young Master Shen, flanked by a big bald man, clearly a close friend of Shen Shou.

"Damn, the kid actually showed up," Shen Shou exclaimed upon seeing Yun Mu, initially shocked and then bursting into laughter.

The bald man also found it amusing: "Kid, do you realize you're walking into your doom?"

Yun Mu took two steps back, deciding it was better to leave some room for maneuver.

"Shen, didn't the slap I gave you last time suffice? Want a few more?" Yun Mu challenged.

Shen Shou's face turned sour immediately, his earlier smile freezing on his face.

"This kid dares to insult me, still so tough when death is upon him? Big Fly, he's all yours."

With that, Shen Shou walked back into the black van.

Though Yun Mu couldn't see him, he knew Shen Shou must be watching from inside the van through the windows.

"Kid, do you know this alley is a dead end?" the bald man grinned wickedly. "If you kneel and kowtow to me now, maybe I'll let you go."

Yun Mu, however, mocked the man known as Big Fly: "If I'm not mistaken, you're the one who called me. Haha, if the Yun Family knew you hadn't finished me off, I doubt you'd have an easy time."

Big Fly was taken aback; he hadn't expected Yun Mu to know he was sent by the Yun Family to bury him.

Of course, Yun Mu was no fool. It was clear from the way Big Fly spoke on the phone that there were some ties to the Yun Family.

"Damn, enough with the chatter, boys, get him. Since you don't care for your life, it'll be easier for me to report back."

At Big Fly's command, a large group of about thirty surged from behind the van.

And these men were different from the others. Although they were all burly men, they were dressed in suits, clearly from the Shen family.

So were the previous attackers under the orders of this bald man?

Yun Mu couldn't worry about that now; to him, anyone coming to a fight dressed in a suit was an idiot—who dresses to restrict their movements in a fight?

In a flash, Yun Mu moved swiftly and landed a fierce kick in the stomach of the lead man in a suit. The blow had him doubling over like a shrimp.

However, the dozens of others rushed forward like a tide, completely disregarding Yun Mu's martial prowess.

Yun Mu hesitated for a moment then decided to step back; facing so many in such a narrow alley made it difficult to fight effectively.

Inside the van, Big Fly and Shen Shou watched the brutal fight unfolding before them silently.

"Young Master Shen, do you think we can catch this kid?" Big Fly asked.

He truly wasn't sure about it. As a man of the streets, from the blow Yun Mu delivered, he recognized his strength.

But Shen Shou was confident, "Don't worry, this is a dead end. Even if these dozens can't handle him, we still have plenty in reserve. I refuse to believe this cornered beast can't be worn down."
