Reawakening: Primordial Dragon with Limitless Mana

Chapter 89: What is happening?!

Beatrice was in the kitchen, humming softly as she prepared breakfast for her daughter. For the first time in what felt like ages, she couldn't stop smiling.

Peri had finally returned.

Not long ago, she had lost all hope. Nothing had worked, no prayer had been answered, and despair had driven her to lock herself away—waiting for either a miracle… or death.

She tried everything in her power. Brute force, advice from experts, and even offering sacrifices more than the deity ever asked for. However, nothing.

And then the miracle came.

A young dragon, standing at the temple door..

Hades had done for her what no one else could. He had opened the temple's sealed gates, fought against an ancient being, and brought Peri back into her arms. It was a debt she could never repay, not even with her life.

Yes, things went a little awry, but in the end, what mattered was that he saved her.

When Beatrice saw that gaping hole in Peri's chest, she felt that even the flickering hope had been blown away.

But, again, he brought a miracle.

"Your Majesty!"

A maid rushed into the kitchen, breathless. "Sir Hades has come to see you."

Beatrice blinked in surprise before quickly nodding. "Yes, invite him in." She brushed the flour from her hands, her heart suddenly beating faster, and hurried out.

She somehow knew what he came for…and that was making her heart restless.

When she reached the reception hall, she found the familiar red-haired figure waiting, glancing around the room with calm patience.

"How are you now?" she asked as she stepped closer.

Hades rose at once to greet her, but before he answered, his gaze flicked to her face. Without thinking, he lifted a hand and brushed something from her cheek.

"Refreshed," he said simply, eyes steady on hers. "And you?"

Beatrice froze, her lips parting in surprise. She hadn't even realized there was flour on her cheek. The warmth of his touch lingered, and when his hand fell away, her ears betrayed her—flushing red.

"...!" Hades blinked, realizing the blunder.

Beatrice coughed lightly, trying to dispel the sudden air between them. " I-I am fine. Thank you for asking."

Hades gave a small nod, his tone carefully even. "And Peri? How is she?"

A natural smile bloomed across the Queen's lips. "She's better. She even ate some porridge this morning."

Relief washed over him. "That's good. I feared her recovery might take longer."

"She's weak," Beatrice admitted gently, "but I know she'll be herself again in a few days."

Hades nodded. Then, rubbing his palm slowly, he asked, almost hesitantly, "May I see her?"

Beatrice had been expecting this. She smiled faintly and inclined her head. "Of course. Come with me."

With that, she turned and led him deeper into the mansion halls, toward the quiet room where her daughter rested.

"She is inside," Beatrice said, stopping before a door, "I will prepare breakfast for us."

Just as she was about to step away, Hades called out, "We need to talk Beatrice…about Peri and me."

Beatrice's eyes shadowed her hair, her expression hidden but then she gave a soft smile and nodded, "I understand."

….

Peri sat propped against the pillows, her legs tucked under a light sheet as she gazed out the window.

The fever from yesterday had eased, though her body still felt weak, too frail to carry her more than a few steps.

She longed to be with her mama in the kitchen, but even standing for too long left her dizzy.

When she'd woken early that morning, she had pressed her mother for answers about what had happened yesterday. That was when she learned about the man who had carried her back to safety.

She hadn't seen his face… only remembered the warmth of his embrace. It had been comforting, grounding, something she almost—

*Snap!*

"What are you even thinking?!" she muttered, slamming her palms against her face.

She couldn't let herself get attached to a stranger. Not to a man like him.

"How rude of him!" she grumbled under her breath. "Without even asking, he forced his mark on me. His mate? I don't even know his name, and he—he dared to bind me?!"

Her nails dug into the sheet as her temper rose. "If he ever shows his face, I swear I'll scratch him bloody. Maybe even break a limb or—"

Click.

The door eased open, and a tall figure stepped inside. His red hair caught the light, his presence filling the quiet room.

Crackle.

A spark jolted through her mind the moment her eyes landed on him.

She froze, completely electrocuted by his sheer charm..

Her breath hitched.

'H-How is he that hot?!'

She has seen several beautiful people before.

She was an elf so her beauty standards were quite high. But this man…she couldn't describe in words how perfectly he matched the ideal man she had always dreamt of..

Hades hummed, his gaze steady. "Is something the matter?"

His voice broke her daze, snapping her back to reality. She shook her head quickly. "No… and why are you in my room?" She tried to glare at him—tried—though she wasn't sure it came out as sharp as she wanted.

Unbothered, Hades pulled the chair closer and sat beside her bed. "I came to check on you. How are you feeling now?"

Her pulse quickened at his nearness, her chest tightening with a strange flutter she had never felt for anyone before. Why was her heart betraying her like this? She had never reacted to anyone—ever—the way she reacted to him.

Turning her face away, she muttered, "I'm fine. You don't need to worry about me."

"How can I not?" Hades countered gently.

"Despite the circumstances, the truth remains—we now share a bond."

Her lips pressed into a thin line, and her voice rose with anger. "A bond you forced on me."

His eyes softened with regret. "I had no other choice. It was either the mark… or death."

Peri whipped her head toward him, eyes narrowed, fire burning in their depths.

Hades met her gaze without flinching. After a breath, he spoke quietly but firmly. "I won't force you to accept me. But know this, Peri—our lives are tied now. Any pain you feel, I'll feel as well. Any emotion you go through, I'll share in it. That's what the bond means. And because of that, it is my duty to protect you—always."

"So you expect me to accompany you?"

Hades shook his head, "I will take you with me."

Normally, Peri would have been furious at that kind of response but why…just why is she blushing so furiously when he said that?

What's happening with her?!
