Naruto took Reika to her house so he could personally treat her wounds and let her rest.

She asked him to stay with her, and Naruto, unable to refuse, agreed.

Unfortunately, he wasn't sleepy. He soon found himself in the same situation as a few hours before.

Reika was practically sleeping on top of him, her head resting on his chest and a leg draped over him.

Taking advantage of that moment of calm, Naruto glanced at the chat group.

[Current members: 17/15]

[THE CHAT SYSTEM HAS EXCEEDED THE ALLOWED NUMBER OF MEMBERS.]

[SYSTEM WARNING: USER NARUTO UZUMAKI MUST REMOVE TWO MEMBERS FROM THE CHAT GROUP WITHIN 24 HOURS. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN THE SYSTEM RANDOMLY REMOVING TWO MEMBERS.]

Naruto looked at the message with evident frustration on his face.

Because of Kisame and Itachi, he now had to kick two members out of the group.

Of course, by "kick out" it really meant bringing them back to life.

As long as two members disappeared from the group—in any way—the system wouldn't intervene.

At least, he already had one decision made.

He had promised Karura, Gaara's mother, to bring her back. Moving that plan forward didn't seem like a bad idea, especially if it avoided the system's random expulsion.

As for the second...

Just as he was about to write in the group to ask if anyone wanted to be revived, the bedroom door opened slowly.

Mikoto appeared with a camera hanging around her neck.

"Mikoto...," murmured Naruto, narrowing his eyes in suspicion.

"Oops," she let out a nervous giggle. "I thought you'd be asleep... I wanted to show Kushina a photo. You know, to... rub it in that my daughter beat her protégé."

The last part was said almost in a whisper, more to herself, but Naruto heard it anyway.

"I thought you'd be sad...," Naruto commented, noticing Mikoto hadn't shed a single tear over Itachi's death.

Her expression changed subtly. A faint glimmer of sadness crossed her face.

"I lost my Itachi a long time ago...," she whispered, lowering her gaze.

They both spoke in hushed tones, careful not to wake Reika, who remained asleep, clinging to Naruto as if she didn't want to let go.

Mikoto walked over and carefully sat on the edge of the bed.

Naruto began to feel visibly uncomfortable.

His girlfriend's mother chatting with him while her daughter slept on top of him?

Yes. Way too uncomfortable.

"I always knew that, sooner or later, Itachi's sins would catch up with him..."

Naruto looked at her silently. Then he let out a heavy sigh.

He hadn't intended to tell her, but...

"Itachi is in the chat group now."

Mikoto immediately lifted her head, surprise in her eyes.

"Is that... Are you serious? You're not planning to remove him, are you?"

Knowing Naruto, she instantly guessed he was planning to get rid of him once he served his purpose.

And that purpose was to give his power, like all the chat group members.

And she wasn't wrong—she was right. Naruto planned exactly that.

Itachi didn't deserve to come back to life after all the suffering he had caused Reika.

Naruto didn't answer her question, which in itself was an answer to Mikoto.

"C-could you not remove him...? When the time comes... could you bring him back to life?" Mikoto asked with a trembling voice, clenching her fists.

Naruto looked away toward Reika before turning back to Mikoto with seriousness.

"I'll think about it. But if I ever bring him back, he'll have to be judged and punished for his crimes, Mikoto. He can't just be forgiven."

Mikoto gave a faint smile.

"I know... I understand. Thank you, Naruto."

With a sigh, she stood up and walked to the door.

"Oh, one last thing...," she said with a smile as she turned from the doorway.

Before Naruto could react, she lifted the camera.

A flash blinded him for a second. He closed his eyes, annoyed.

"I mustn't forget why I came. Kushina's going to rage when she sees this."

The bedroom door closed softly behind Mikoto's exit.

Naruto shook his head, both amused and surprised by her antics.

Just as she said, his mother, Kushina, was not going to like that photo at all.

...

Days passed after the sudden attack by Itachi and Kisame... and their subsequent deaths.

That same day, Fugaku ended up kicking Naruto out of his house after discovering he had fallen asleep next to Reika, in her room.

Though he later regretted it, when both his daughter and his wife got mad at him for his reaction.

For his part, Naruto had also made a decision regarding the second member he had to bring back to life.

Just before the 24-hour deadline imposed by the system was up, he brought back Karura—Gaara's mother—and Nawaki, Tsunade Senju's younger brother.

Nawaki, still a bit dazed from his resurrection, promised to help convince his sister to return to the village and take the position of Fifth Hokage.

Although, of course, he also complained that Tsunade would become Hokage before him.

With enthusiasm, Nawaki swore he would become the Sixth Hokage, after his sister... though Naruto didn't give much importance to that declaration.

Naturally, he sent both of them to his parents' house—the same one they had recently recovered—since he didn't want them in his own home.

He liked to keep his privacy and comfort.

To his surprise, Naruto discovered that his parents' house had been registered under Hiruzen's name.

The Sarutobi Clan, specifically Asuma, had returned it to Minato after discovering he had come back to life.

It was hard for Naruto to understand how, for so many years, he had lived in a tiny, damp, moldy, barely livable one-room apartment... while his parents' house had been under the control of the Third Hokage all that time.

Kushina and Minato were also furious upon finding out.

The idea that their son had grown up alone, in such deplorable conditions, while their house remained intact, filled them with rage and helplessness.

Especially Kushina, who almost died returning to the chat group just to give Hiruzen a beating out of sheer fury.

And because of all this, Naruto was now chatting with the members of the chat group.

[Naruto Uzumaki: Everyone! The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived!]

[Tobirama Senju: Are you serious?! Tell me you're not lying!]

[Hashirama Senju: I was starting to lose hope! You've made me wait a long time, Naruto!]

[Mito Uzumaki: Don't forget me, I want in too!]

[Madara Uchiha: Hm. I wouldn't mind helping. I want to be part of the fun too.]

[Hiruzen Sarutobi: Hm? What are you talking about? Are you throwing a party?]

[Biwako Sarutobi: Dear... I don't think that's what they mean...]

[Itama Senju: I don't know what it is, but I want to be part of it too!]

[Hashirama Senju: Of course, Itama, you can join too! I promise you'll have fun! It'll be a great way to vent and relieve stress!]

[Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki: I'll stay out of it. I bear no grudge against Hiruzen Sarutobi.]

[Hiruzen Sarutobi: Eh? What do you mean by that?]

[Naruto Uzumaki: EVERYONE! LET THE PARTY BEGIN! WE'LL CALL IT "THE DAY HIRUZEN SARUTOBI WISHED HE'D NEVER BEEN BORN"!]
