Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 286: Frost Wyrm, And Dipping

Rael continued massacring weak monsters alongside hundreds of other people.

At first, it seemed overwhelming, and many even fell.

But as the minutes passed, they realized that these monsters were slightly weaker than them.

So, with their confidence reignited, they regained control of the jade palace, or rather, what was left of it after its walls, pillars, and roof had been torn off.

Anyhow...

This has been pretty good, experience-wise.

The monsters just barely managed to graze him, but he saw some stronger ones coming around, so he decided to invest a few of his free stat points into Agility.

Agility: 16 → 26

Just a few.

Still, with everything that had happened, he completed one part of the scenario, that being, killing 10 monsters.

<Objective: Survive for 8 hours (3 / 8) | Kill 10 monsters (33 / 10 COMPLETE)>

So, with that knowledge, he now knew that the only way to clear this was to not only kill the monsters but also survive the 8 hours themselves.

And as for those who don't, well... you have my prayers, Rael thought with a sigh.

The ground suddenly shook as a boulder made its way toward Rael, but like before, his Always Slightly Off skill managed to toss it aside.

Sure, he would've preferred to get an actual combat class, but this class seemed interesting.

Tripping opponents... including his allies, was pretty fun to watch.

Though, every time someone tripped, they died, so that wasn't so fun.

Even so, Rael chose to rest and let the others do the hard work.

Yet as the minutes ticked down, he realized the number of monsters rushing toward them had lessened significantly.

And that was when a pop-up appeared overhead, much larger than the other pop-ups he had seen.

<You've reached the halfway mark to passing Part 2 of the main scenario! Congratulations!>

<Releasing monster: Frost Wyrm (Vice General Class Elite) [Level 75]>

<Good Luck!>

"..."

At least the classes are the same—

—BOOOOOOM

A giant inferno appeared in the middle of the jade palace grounds, shooting up into the sky and parting the already dark clouds.

And that was when a single Frost Wyrm descended, turning the inferno into ice as it finally reached the ground.

A moment of silence ensued, quickly broken when someone fired an arrow at the Frost Wyrm.

Before the arrow could even reach the Frost Wyrm, it turned into ice, dropping to the ground and shattering.

Rael nodded to himself.

This is probably where I get the fuck out of here.

With that thought in mind, he didn't hesitate to jump off the side of the jade palace, surfing along its slanted edge and arriving at the ground below.

They were still considered inside the barrier, and he didn't want to figure out what would happen if they were to leave.

Still, there were monsters here, more than had rushed up to the jade palace.

But honestly speaking? He preferred 1,000 level 1-5 monsters to a single Vice-General Class Frost Wyrm.

After all, with one frost breath, that thing could nuke them.

Down here? It was experience paradise, so Rael decided to indulge in it.

He navigated through the monsters, killing those who had slipped in an instant.

<DING! You have slain: Slightly Large Rat (x2) [Level 1]: Minor Experience increase.>

<DING! You have slain: Giant Tarantula (x4) [Level 2]: Minor Experience increase.>

<DING! You have slain: Venomous Snake (x3) [Level 1]: Minor Experience increase.>

Because of his decently high Agility, he was able to dodge most of the attacks.

[HP -109! 68/200]

One managed to pierce his abdomen, drawing quite a lot of blood and nearly hitting a vital organ.

He wasn't invincible by any means, but the combat experience he'd gained in Sketa Online still stuck with him after all these months.

But he tried to get over his rather masochistic fighting style, since he actually felt pain now.

And that pain made his movements slightly janky, nearly causing him to be impaled on one of the skeletons' bones.

Still, Rael fought through it, narrowly dodged attacks, and practically ran on the heads of monsters until he finally left the jade palace grounds.

The first scenario said he'd die if he didn't get inside the safe zone, but after getting inside the safe zone... it didn't remain safe for long.

Still, nothing said he had to stay there, so he ran into one of the nearby buildings instead.

It was one of those luxurious hotels where even stepping into the main hall would've been out of his budget.

There weren't many monsters inside, so he ran past them, into the stairwell, and to the very top of the building.

Instead of the rooftop, he entered the flat on the highest floor, and unsurprisingly, there were two people already inside.

One man without an arm, and one woman who had lost an eye.

The moment they spotted Rael, they froze, reaching for the knives beside them.

But Rael simply stabbed his sword into the floor and raised his hands.

"I mean you no harm, I just need to rest for a bit," Rael stated, blood pouring down his mouth. "Do you happen to have some painkillers?"

"..."

The woman pointed toward one of the cabinets.

"The one at the top... take one."

Rael nodded with a slight smile as he limped over to the cabinet, opened it, and took the entire bottle of painkillers.

He opened it and downed a few pills, then walked over to their luxurious couch and sat down.

All the while, the two stared at him with wary eyes.

Yet Rael didn't mind it.

After all...

The apocalypse is probably one of the easiest ways for introverts to make friends.

He turned toward them and tilted his head.

"So why didn't you two go to the safe zone?"
