Chapter 281: Stat Conversion
[Rael's POV]
They had been inside that Spatial crack for an entire week. Now, it was finally over as the two stepped out.
The black barrier cracked, sending down shards onto the continent.
But since there were so many, he didn't even bother stopping them.
Rael yawned.
"Fucking hell... that last monster was a bit tough. No wonder this Spatial crack was labeled as a Grade 3 difficulty," he remarked.
Zafira giggled. "Be that as it may, we killed it before it could transform."
"True." Rael hummed in satisfaction, then turned his gaze over to the side.
Naturally, killing another Grade 2 monster brought forth a lot of rewards.
It was a pity the Spatial crack didn't count as a dungeon. Otherwise, he'd definitely be rich.
But even so...
<Level: 2,855 → 3,211>

<Draconic Intelligence to MP Ratio: 1 Draconic Intelligence: 6,400 MP → 1 Draconic Intelligence: 10,000 MP>
<Boss Monster Exclusive Passive Effect: Enemy healing is halved while they are in combat with you.>
Oho? An actually overpowered one this time? Rael mused. That's definitely going to be useful.
But of course, the main deal was just ahead.
<Premium Perk Selection is available!>
Premium Buff [Special-Unique]
—All buffs used on the user are 2x stronger. The buffs cast by the user are instead 4x stronger.
Premium Stat Conversion [Special-Unique]
—You may now purchase exclusive specialized stats. This perk is not connected to the Premium Shop.
Premium Cataclysm [Special-Unique+]
—Unleash a one-time world-altering disaster in a selected region. The event may take the form of a meteor strike, dimensional rift, or divine curse. Cannot be used again on the same world.
Hmm... Rael fell into thought.
Out of the three perks, the Premium Buff perk seemed the most lacking.
In context, it was overpowered, since the buffs Zafira and the others cast last time would have been 4x more effective.
But then again, the other perks were much better.
Premium Cataclysm seemed like the most overpowered perk he'd seen, as he could quite literally drop a region-wide nuke on something.
Still...
I don't really need it, do I? Rael thought with a sigh. I can buy 10 nukes in the blink of an eye from the Premium Shop, then drop them anywhere I'd like.
Basically, Premium Cataclysm was something he'd pick only if the other two options were absolute shit.
But in this case, they weren't.
Premium Stat Conversion was exactly what he needed, and because of that, Rael didn't hesitate to pick it.
<Perk Chosen! Premium Stat Conversion [Special-Unique]>

They're so cheap... Rael thought with widened eyes.
He remembered Common ones costing billions, yet here, he could buy a Transcendent-ranked Strength for 50 billion Trell.
Safe to say, it was overpowered.
Just as he began inspecting them, he noticed something at the very bottom.
It was a glowing black box, and when he pressed on it, his eyes widened.
<Ding!>

<Next Upgrade: Grade 1 Ascension.>
"Fuck..." Rael muttered, getting Zafira's attention.
"What's up?" she asked, then glanced at his eyes.
Immediately, she tilted her head in confusion.
"Your eyes look fiercer...? Am I imagining it?"
"You're not," Rael replied. "I got two interesting stat upgrades just now."
Zafira let out a chuckle as she looked down at the continent below.
It was riddled with craters and explosions from the barrier breaking.
Even so, the two held hands as they knew when they finally landed, they'd be parting ways for a little while.
Still, there was one more thing he wanted to buy from the Stat Conversion perk, and that was the Fated One's Willpower.
<Fated One's Willpower>
1. Acts as Spell Power and Mental Resistance. Greatly amplifies mental clarity and resolve.
2. (NEW) New stat calculation: 1,000,000 Willpower → 1 Fated One's Willpower.

4. (NEW) Passively regenerates Mental Integrity while inside the Mind realm.
5. (NEW) Allies within 30 meters receive a passive morale bonus.
6. (Special) Greater control over the Mind Realm.
And with that, he was once again broke.
But the Willpower change, as well as the Strength, was immediately noticeable.
So much so that he felt disturbances in the space around him as he walked.
Sure, Alune told him not to evolve, but she probably didn't expect him to increase his stats that drastically.
Because of that, Rael knew that if he were to even throw a single punch, the world would come out and beat his ass with a strike.
Anyhow... Rael trailed off, delivering a kiss on Zafira's lips.
"I'll miss you."
A faint smile tugged at her lips.
"You're speaking as if we'll never see each other again," Zafira remarked. "If anything, I plan to be gone for no longer than a month."
"Ehh... yeah, you're right," Rael replied, scratching his cheek. "But a month is a very long time. Who knows what'll happen to us in a month, you know?"
Zafira cupped his cheeks and stared him straight in the eyes.
"How about we message each other every day to make sure we're fine?"
"...I don't think I'll be able to send a message from where I'm going to be," Rael said.
"That's that then..." Zafira sighed, then pointed downward. "Look, Linlin, Aria, and the players are there. You think they waited for us?"
"I'm pretty sure they came out because the continent was being bombed," Rael replied matter-of-factly.
But even so...
"Let's go meet them."
