Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 271: Behind The Eclipse

They flew high up into the sky, their hands intertwined until, eventually, it seemed like they had reached the moon itself.

But only then did Rael realize that what caused his eclipse wasn't an actual moon, but a simple black barrier that stretched as far as the eye could see.

Surprisingly enough, it wasn't that high up, as they could still freely breathe, but...

"You knew about it? Why did you tell me not to destroy it?" Rael asked, tapping the barrier that felt like glass.

Zafira didn't answer. Instead, she placed her hand on the black barrier, and the moment she did, the barrier became slightly more transparent.

And of course, that was when a peculiar sight emerged.

Instead of a clear blue sky and the sun, what he saw instead was a giant crack in space, almost like a portal.

On the other side of the portal stood multiple monsters of all shapes and sizes.

Rael's brows furrowed, and he inspected them.

—Sentient Garden Hose [Grade 1 | Level 599] - Vitality: Tier 2 [100% / 100% HP]

—The Almighty Slurping Eagle [Grade 1 | Level 611] - Vitality: Tier 2 [100% / 100% HP]

—Mind Stalker [Grade 2 | Level 124] - Vitality: Tier 4 [100% / 100% HP]

—Blue Orc (Grade 2 | General Class Elite) [Level 421] | Vitality: Tier 6 [100% / 100% HP]

"...?"

Rael tilted his head.

"What the fuck?"

"Those were my exact thoughts," Zafira remarked with a giggle. "I figured out I could unveil this thing, but when I tried... yeah. That appeared."

"So what is it anyways? A dungeon?" Rael asked, narrowing his eyes. "...A seal, maybe?"

She nodded. "Mhm... I think it's a dungeon. It must've opened up when I used the skill, but now it's just acting like a seal for those monsters inside. I checked it out a few times during the week, and it seemed like the amount of monsters inside kept increasing."

Rael rubbed his temples. "So if we don't put a stop to it, these overpowered monsters are going to invade our continent, is that right?"

Zafira was about to agree, but she soon narrowed her eyes.

"Are you suggesting I let you inside?"

Rael shrugged.

"Is that such a bad idea? I'm probably the only one who can deal with those monsters," he said matter-of-factly. "Plus, I really need the levels right now. Those Five Seat pieces of shit are all stronger than me. Even Alene. If not for me using her daughters against her, she would've easily killed me."

She stared at him for a couple of moments, then let out a sigh.

"You're level 2,112. Those things inside are Grade 1, with that elite monster even reaching Grade 2... Do you see where I'm going with this?"

"I'm not strong enough to face them, I understand." Rael nodded. "But I need to reach at least Grade 1 before I meet another one of the Five Seats. If I don't, then we're all as good as dead."

Noticing that he wasn't going to budge on this, she furrowed her brows and floated over to him.

"And if I actually lose you this time?" Zafira asked. "Last time you survived because of sheer luck. Now you're just running into danger again."

He shook his head.

"It wasn't luck. I wanted that outcome, and I got it. The skill usage was intentional, and so was what happened after."

"You mean bringing that dragon into Celestara?" Zafira tilted her head. "Because you probably saw how that turned out for you, didn't you?"

A shiver ran down his spine.

Mercurius was a lazy bum.

But at the same time, he was an expensive lazy bum.

He ate most of the cuisines Celestara had to offer, and then some.

Because of that, Rael had no choice but to constantly restock Celestara's supplies, and of course, also place Evelyn in charge of the dragon.

So what Mercurius was doing at the moment was obvious. He was stuffing his face full of food.

But besides that...

"Zafira, I want this. This is a challenge, and I've gotten so many upgrades since the fight against Mercurius. If we were to fight again, I'm sure I'd come out unscathed, I promise."

"Promise? Hah..."

A faint smirk appeared on her face.

"Why don't we test the loyalty of our subjects, then?"

He tilted his head, puzzled.

But before he could ask what she meant, she suddenly tapped on the transparent glass-like barrier, and in the very next moment, a small hole appeared.

Without wasting a moment, she grabbed his sleeve and flapped her wings, appearing inside the dungeon in an instant.

<You have entered: Artificial Spatial Crack [Level 1 - Grade 3]>

<Notice: The user is too weak for this instance.>

His eyes widened at her boldness, but when he finally realized what was happening, the sight ahead mesmerized him.

It was a giant fiery plain on one end, then a snowy tundra on the other.

Each region housed its own unique set of monsters.

As for the area they came through, it was a simple grassy plain that housed all sorts of monsters.

They ranged from low-leveled dungeon rats all the way to the Blue Orc he had seen earlier.

But there was one teeny-tiny issue.

The spatial crack was gone, replaced by a simple pop-up.

<In order to leave this spatial crack, the user must eliminate all monsters present and destroy the Artificial Spatial Core.>

"Um..." Zafira scratched her head innocently. "You can get us out of here with a scroll, right?"

Rael rolled his eyes and checked the premium shop.

•—Premium Shop—•

Category: Scrolls / Escape / Spatial Crack / Artificial

•—Balance: 7,934,035,136 Trell—•

• Mass Escape Scroll [15 People] (Legendary): 25,000,000,000 [25 Billion] Trell

"Hmm... so I have good news and bad news," Rael mumbled. "The good news is that there are some escape scrolls. The bad news is that they cost a fuck ton."

"How much?" Zafira asked. "I have a few billion lying around."

He shook his head.

"We need at least 20 billion Trell."

The moment he uttered those words, Zafira flinched, her gaze traveling down to the monsters of each region.

She cleared her throat and puffed out her chest slightly.

"L-Let's go kill a few monsters..."
