Quick Transmigration: Irresistible Beauty

Chapter 339: Blackened Junior Sister (44)

With that, the hidden guards withdrew, and a commotion came closing in from a distance away. Yue Ran could not help but be more alert and cautious. Noticing this, Shu Ye straightened up and walked to her, grasping her waist with one hand and leaning his head downwards to get closer to her.

"You do not have to worry," Shu Ye reassured her.

Just as Yue Ran was about to open her mouth to respond, there was a hurried sound of footsteps outside the door, followed by a bang, and the wooden door of the room was kicked open. As a result, the hand Shu Ye had on Yue Ran's waist subconsciously tightened by two points, and Yue Ran could even vaguely feel the other party's shallow breathing on her face due to their very close proximity.

"Someone, search this room with me... er…"

Jiang Wen Xiu: !!!

Jiang Wen Xiu took the lead to rush inside the room but quickly came to a halt before he could fully enter, and his words trailed off awkwardly in the end. His words trailed off awkwardly as he observed two black-haired men in the room. One was wearing a white robe, and the other was in a purple-red robe. From his vantage point in the doorway, it appeared that the two young men had just shared a passionate kiss a moment ago but were now split apart because of the sudden interruption his entrance had caused.

Hearing the loud bang followed by his shout, the two young men separated and were forced to turn their attention to the door and at him at the same time.

Shu Ye: It seems like someone has found out about our secret love affair.

Yue Ran: ...Whatever you say.

Jiang Wen Xiu had never seen something like this in his whole life, and was taken aback. His outlook on life had completely changed after witnessing this shocking scene.

The young man in white still had a trace of surprise and panic in his eyes, probably because an outsider had witnessed their taboo affair, and the man in a purple-red robe hugged him a little tighter while looking at Jiang Wen Xiu with unkind eyes.

"How dare you barge into this room?!" Shu Ye roared out sternly. "Who are you? State your name and affiliation!"

Shu Ye shouted in anger, looking extremely unhappy and in a very terrible mood. Jiang Wen Xiu also felt embarrassed because he realized that he had witnessed something he should not have seen. How could he have known that he would encounter such a thing in broad daylight and in a place like this? As a result, Jiang Wen Xiu did not know where to put his eyes since looking here and there did not seem to be right.

"Did you find anything at your side?" A voice called out from outside. It came from Cheng Mo.

"Ah, uh, n-no, there is no... nothing here," Jiang Wen Xiu stammered, relieved by the close, opportune save. "Stay there, alliance leader! I will come right over to your side now!"

Jiang Wen Xiu turned around and responded at once when he heard Cheng Mo's voice, as though he had heard the voice of his savior. He had never felt as relieved as he was right now.

The young man then quickly uttered an apology to the two occupants inside the room in a low and rough voice before hurriedly turning away to flee the place. He even forgot to close the door to let the two occupants keep their privacy due to his inner panic and desire to get as far away as possible from the two.

Ruan Ruan: What an uncivilized man, hmph! To think that he could not even close the door! He is really a brute!

Unexpectedly, at this time, Shu Ye said, "You smell really good," to Yue Ran. The young man was uttering nonsensical words all of a sudden.

When Shu Ye saw that the intruder, meaning Jiang Wen Xiu, had left them alone, he turned his head back to look at Yue Ran and sniffed her hair. Yue Ran was not pleased with that, so she leaned her head back, pushed the young man away, and took two steps back to retreat from his arms. The clamor outside gradually faded, as though they were now preoccupied with something else. From their shouts, Yue Ran could only make out the words of them spotting the wanted Long Yuan in the northern side of the city.

Yue Ran nodded inwardly when she heard those exclamations. It seemed that her plan to make Long Yuan lead those people on a wild goose chase had been successful so far.

(*A wild goose chase: a complicated or lengthy and usually fruitless pursuit of something unattainable because the person or thing being searched for does not exist or is somewhere else.)

After about a minute or so, the majority of the members from the Grand Martial Temple, the Sky Breeze Sect, and various other sects had left the Diamond Dreams Casino. Only a handful of disciples were left nearby in case their targets were still around.

"My biological mother is related to the Exalted Sea Sect," Shu Ye said once the storm outside had calmed and the door to the room was closed by one of his hidden guards for added privacy. Not that the two had any privacy in the first place, as there were many hidden eavesdroppers around them.

The young man walked back to the window in his previous position, let out a chuckle, and suddenly said this. Yue Ran looked up at Shu Ye with a little doubt in her eyes. Not only because the leader of the Dark Sky Pavilion abruptly revealed his identity, but also because of what he stated. The term "biological mother" in that statement of his has a significant meaning.

"You were so tight-lipped just now," Yue Ran said. "So why do you want to…"

Why...?
